Chapter 80: Chapter 78: Storm training (part 3)

- *HAAA* *HAAA*... *gulp*....

A trembling Homura was holding his blade with both hands firmly attached to it while looking extremely disturbed.  

The game was so realistic that Homura, who was nowhere near tired enough to be sweating bullets, was sweating like no tomorrow. While his clothes were covered with dirt and torn apart beyond recognition.

- (W-what is this game?! A torture simulator?! No wonder all previous versions of me refused to play!)- So thought Homura while he was looking all around him with a paranoid look on his face, as he desperately tried to not lose track of his target...of all his targets.

As far as Homura could see, he was surrounded by a sea of orange and yellow. 

In other words, he was surrounded by a ridiculous amount of shadow clones created by Naruto.

There were over 400 hundred clones in total.

Homura wasn't surrounded from left to right, he was literally encircled by the being he now feared the most. 

He was never beaten that badly.

Those clones were suicidal.

They would attack in groups at the drop of a hat or through projectile weapons whenever they wanted.

They seemingly had an endless supply of shuriken and kunai on hand. It just never ended.

It was hard to tell what feeling. They were now, all of them Homura's personal demons. 

They had killed him and tortured him so many times that it went from comical to tragic, to comical once again. 

The worst part is that after Homura died, they would respawn back to their original positions and restart the match once again.

The sh*tty program had no window popping up after each reboot to ask Homura if he wanted to continue, but Homura's pride refused to cancel the program without winning at least a single round.

Thus, why he had already lost now 285 rounds.

It was truly a sad spectacle to behold.

*Step*

Homura widened his stance by increasing the distance between both of his legs and immediately started charging in front of him like a madman.

-Haaaa!!!!!!!(Damn it!)

He was not really afraid anymore after so many losses he had already, lost almost every once of shame and regret inside of him.

Even though the Naruto in the program were not real people they were based on Homura's memories of games, anime, and even light novel statements of Naruto's abilities. 

They were far better trained than Homura ever was, the only thing comparable was their speed, however, technique, strategy, taijutsu, and even ninjutsu... Homura was just outmatched on every front!

- Let's go! -yelled a Naruto clone.

- Ooooh!- yelled back all Naruto clones and the real one present.

As both parties soon made contact with one another Homura immediately swung his sword, cutting in half 3 Naruto clones in front of him.

*poof*

*poof*

*poof*

All of the clones that were cut immediately were turned into smoke clouds.

 -(If I can't beat them in anything, else! At least I will use my sword to keep  them at bay!)

- I got you! (Naruto)

A naruto clone was just above Homura, seemingly trying to land on top of him so that he could pin him down.

But Homura immediately removed one his hands from holding his sword and punched the Naruto clone dropping down on him in the jaw with his free hand.

 - Guoh! (Naruto)

The clone instantly burst into smoke after the impact.

- tch! (Good thing they are so loud, otherwise I would have not realized that he was above me before too late.)

Similar to their real counterparts, the characters in the game also behave similarly to the version seen in the manga and show.

-... - Homura tried to predict where the next attack would come from.

As Homura was about to put use his free hand to hold his sword once again, out of nowhere,  several shurikens came flying through the ever-expanding cloud of smoke created as Homura kept destroying clones one after another.

They came from Homura's left side. 

Which he countered by raising his sword and almost instantly dug it deep in front of him in order to counter the incoming attack.

*tick*

*tick*

*tick*

A barrage of projectiles sent at Homura bounced back as soon as they hit Homura's massive weapon, leaving no scratch whatsoever.

Soon after the incoming volley of projectiles thrown his way ended Homura, got back up from hidding behind his weapon, which he used as a shield and got ready to pick it back up once again so that he could go on the offensive. 

But as he did so, a clone came from behind him.

Straight through the cloud of smoke trying grab Homura, whom he quickly kicked in the stomach with his right leg without changing position.

The clone immediately burst into smoke.

*Poof*

But as it did 4 Naruto clones soon after entered the frame from the same location.

The one who came charging ahead of them, was obviously a meant to lure him into a trap.

Those coming now were the real main force of Naruto's next attack.

- (sh*t!)

Homura immediately let go of the sword and charged at the incoming clones darting towards him.

But Homura is ready to take them out, as he had done so many times prior.

He takes a kunai from his pouch strapped on his back and slits one of the clones' throats, instantly taking him out.

*poof*

Then he dodges another clone in the nick of time and stabs them in the back of the neck, destroying it one single hit as well.

*poof*

Seeing Homura destroying his fellow clones a Naruto clone throws a shuriken at Homura, while another clone tries to tackle Homura to the ground.

But Homura immediately throws his kunai at the incoming shuriken and both weapons are then knocked out of the air; and knee kicks the clone trying to tackle him, square in the jaw.

*POOF*

The clone is ultimately destroyed by the impact and bursts into smoke also.

But a slightly bigger one than usual. 

But instead of attacking Homura once again the remaining clone flees back inside the smoke cloud.

- Coward! - Yelled Homura.

Seeing his chance of using the smoke cover the clone provided him Homura prepares to unleash his next long range attack. 

Homura then starts to weave hand seals that he didn't learn, but automatically occurred as he wished to perform one of the 4 jutsus that were available to him.

- Katon! Gokakyu no jutsu!

Homura starts spewing fire from his mouth at a fast speed until the fire starts to take the form of a giant orb that maintains its shape until finally it is sent flying straight ahead.

The cloud of smoke in front of Homura is instantly dispersed as the giant fireball leaves Homura's side and is sent flying straight ahead until it finally explodes in a burst of flames.

*BOOOOMMM*

*Poof*

*Poof*

The sound of multiple tiny explosions reverberates all throughout the entire battlefield as many clones are destroyed due to the huge fireball bursting into flames after it made contact with several clones. 

- *haaa* *haaa* !!!!- A surprised Homura looks to his left as the smoke cloud starts to dissipate.

Since he had heard  an all too familiar noise.

- Haaaaa! (Naruto X2)

As the cloud started to dissipate further, Homura saw 2 Narutos rushing right towards him, while one dissipates as soon as it finishes making a glowing spiraling blue orb!

While the other one continues rushing at Homura at full speed!

Homura thinks of blocking but realizes that his sword was not within arm's length any longer since he was forced to deal with the 4 clones who came at him at once.

-  (M-My sword! It's too far, I need to run.)

Homura immediately darts to his left, only to see the figure of another Naruto coming right at him with another rasengan in hand and far too close for him to dodge.

- Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soon after both Naruto shouted the name of their attack as they were about to make contact with Homura's body.

Rasengan!!!!! (Naruto) x2

As both rasengan made contact with Homura's body from opposite directions.

- Haaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Homura yelled in pain.

Both rasengan ditched out at Homura from opposite directions, soon combined into one, and formed a large, 3-meter-in-diameter bright blue orb with enormous amounts of wind pressure, that completely engulfed Homura inside.

Haaaa!!! (Naruto) X2

The two Naruto pressed their attacks even further as the wind pressure increased.

As the blue orb created by both rasengan starts emitting higher wind pressure, Homura's entire body was being twisted around the ball of absolute annihilation and pain the ball, then as if by magic the ball starts sparkling more intense than ever.

Until finally it exploded and put Homura out of his misery. 

*BOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM*

 - Winner Uzumaki Naruto - (Game Narrator)

 So declared the voice of the game's narrator shouted as Homura's life points reached zero.

Hey guys! 

Hope you liked this shorter arc! 

It's not something I originally included in my draft but this way I can always insert a fight scene. The story was starting to feel a bit bogged down with exposition and too much training and build up.

That's only because Homura is still a bit too green.

I have to set up a lot of things that it is too hard to keep track of all of them or know when to implement them.

But as he enters the academy it will go back to more slice of life antics (for the most part), and his relationship with the new and old characters.
