Chapter 17: Noble, part one

Later that week? Or was it a month? I can’t remember, it had been starting to blend together. Joseph had started let me out at night and gave me exorcise. While we did this, he explained why he let me out. Apparently, I looked like and acted like his daughter that was living with her mother while her father was on this trip.

          After a couple of days after he started to let me out, he started to train me in sword play and was shocked to hear I was more proficient in sicklemen’s ship than in swordmen’s ship.

A week went by then a month and soon we encountered an island that we would be docking at and restocking supplies.

          “The noble that sent this force of troops asked us to get all the beastkin slaves possible, so we got you,” said the man pulling the chain tied around my neck.

          Joseph was on walking in front of the man and kept looking around to see if anyone was suspicious as he was supposed to be guarding us as we went to the nobleman’s home as this was his island. When we got to the manor a guard standing at the front gate looked our party over and spoke.

          “Are you platoon 234? Where is the commander?”

          “He is KIA I am acting commander,” said the man pulling my chains.

          Now that I looked at him, he was dressed in rather fancy military garb compared to Joseph and the others. The guard led us inside and as I stepped through the threshold, he looked back at me with a scornful look on his face.
