Darell and his friends were exploring the Academy. The prestige of the academy was spread throughout the kingdom. So, almost everyone knew the ins and outs of the academy but to experience it firsthand, was limited to a handful of individuals who could afford to get admission to the academy.

As they were exploring the Academy, they heard someone shout.

"Who let filthy peasants in this prestigious academy?"

All of them turned around and found a familiar face looking at Darell with disdain.

*Puthi*

"Good to see that you still hang out with worms of the society, Eric."

The individual spat on the ground and sneered at Eric.

Eric rolled his eyes and whispered in Darell's ear.

"How did this idiot get here?"

Darell shrugged in response.

The person was none other than Eric's cousin, Abel Falter. He was the son of a count like Eric's father. He was always jealous of Eric as he fancied Ariel but she didn't even bother to recognize him. He knew she was fond of Eric but he almost had a heart attack when he heard Eric was planning to propose to Ariel and the marriage was a done deal. It enraged him as he always wanted to marry her.

Furthermore, he looked down on the lower nobility families as he thought only people of a higher noble family could talk proudly and do whatever they wanted.

So, when he found out that Eric was friends with a Baron's son he didn't waste time belittling him any chance he got.

He even thought of kidnapping Ariel but he couldn't do so when he heard she was close friends with the daughter of Duke of Zukvar.

His plans were further foiled when he heard the person who should be begging him for mercy had an innate ability that was lost for ten thousand years.

Although he was a total cripple without an ounce of magic power he would do whatever he wanted using his connections with the upper nobility.

Darell and the others knew the kind of person Abel was, so they didn't bother responding to his remarks.

Darell rolled his eyes and gestured for them to go to another training hall.

As they were going to another hall, Abel shouted.

"How dare you ignore me! I order you to stop."

He believed Darell wouldn't ignore his order as he was a higher noble than him. But, Darell and the others completely ignored him and went on to their destination.

Abel was shocked and gritted his teeth in anger.

"How dare a lowly dog igno-"

He abruptly stopped speaking and shivered in fear. Darell disappeared and appeared in front of him. He looked at him with disdain and said "This is not your damn house where you could do as you please."

Abel struggled to stand underneath Darell's murderous gaze. However, he clenched his fists and said "What can you do when I tell my senior brothers about you and order them to kill you?"

Darell scoffed and said "A dog roaming around with dogs will forever be one no matter what it does.

I am neither scared of you nor your senior brothers.

Here, killing someone has serious repercussions."

Darell turned around and walked toward his group.

Abel shouted " I may not kill you but I can humiliate you in the events. My senior brothers have informed me of the important places where I will be able to retain the most benefits."

Abel smirked at Darell as he thought he could humiliate him.

Darell chuckled and said, "Keep dreaming, insect."

He returned to the group and went to another hall.

After they had explored the Academy, they went to their rooms and retired to their beds.

At night,

All of them met in the dining hall. They sat together and chatted for a while. As they were chatting, a girl caught Darell's attention.

The girl was beautiful in every way, she had smooth, silky silver hair that flowed through her back. She had beautiful sea-green eyes that held a deep concern in them. She had pale white skin that was devoid of any scars or blemishes. She had a cold, aloof expression on her face but it had a deep concern hidden in them.

Darell was entranced by her beauty and everyone caught him staring at the girl.

Emma scowled at him as she kicked him in the leg under the table.

"Ouch"

Darell snapped back from his trance and looked at Emma while smiling awkwardly.

Emma smiled wickedly and said"You are so shameless to stare at a girl when I am sitting in front of you. Maybe I should expect this behavior after marriage too, right?"

The atmosphere became tense and everyone stopped eating while staring at Darell.

Darell sighed and said"I am sorry but I was not lusting after her. I was intrigued by the fact that such a beautiful girl was in our kingdom but no one seems to approach her."

When everyone heard his explanation, they couldn't help but agree with him.

Surely, such a beautiful girl would have suitors lined up for her. But, no one paid attention to her.

He asked "Emma, you know most of the noble kids. Did you see her somewhere?"

Emma glanced at her and shook her head.

"No, I have never seen her before."

When they heard her, they were intrigued by the mysterious beauty and stared at her.

Upon noticing that the group in front of her was staring at her, she frowned and picked up her tray, and walked toward another desk and her food.

Darell and the others shook their head and focused on their food while chatting about trivial matters.

While the others were discussing trivial matters, Darell was thinking about the strange feeling he got when he looked at her. He shook his head and decided to not pry further into her secrets.

They finished their dinner and as they were exiting the hall, Instructor Walter smiled and walked into the hall.

He gestured for everyone to be quiet.

He cleared his throat as he began his speech.

"Congratulations to everyone for being able to pass the test and gain admission into the kingdom's most prestigious academy. Your classes will begin tomorrow and magic classes will be held from morning to the afternoon and combat classes will be held from afternoon to evening. You are all strongly advised to train and work hard as much as possible because you might gain some unwanted benefits due to your training.

Remember, no one must break the rules put in place by the authorities.

Alright, that is it for today. I hope you all have a wonderful time here at the academy. Good luck."

Walter finished his speech and glanced at Darell. He gestured for Darell to follow him.

Darell nodded and got up from his seat and followed him.

After they went outside the hall, Walter spoke " I am sorry Darell but we don't have any Instructor or person who has your ability in the kingdom. Your ability is so unique that only one person has it in the whole world and that is you. So, you have to train your ability and learn spells by yourself. Of course, we will provide you with the information we have in the library."

Darell sighed and said," I thank Sir to inform me beforehand of this matter."

Walter smiled and left.

Darell met his group and they went to the dorms where they slept and waited patiently to begin the first chapter of their new life.
