Chapter 11: Magic Class

Lilith woke up excitedly. She got off the bed and took a bath. She changed herself into formal attire. She saw that Emma and Ariel were ready as well. 

They went out of their dorm and met with Darell and Eric as they walked toward their classroom. But, when they were about to enter, Darell stopped them.

Lilith noticed the complicated expression on his face and become worried. She thought it might be related to the reason why Walter took him away to talk.

Darell said, "I am sorry guys but I think I won't be able to attend magic classes with you."

All of them were shocked. Lilith knew her hunch was right. Before she could question him, Emma was the first to open her mouth.

"Why? Did someone threaten you? Tell me who is it!"

Emma grabbed Darell's shoulders and shook him. Darell smiled helplessly and said "Don't worry. There is no instructor in the academy that has the same ability as me. So, he ordered me to improve my mana and spells using the records they have in the library."

All of them had dejected expressions but the one who was the most upset was Emma. She had planned to spend every moment in the Academy with Darell and deepen their relationship before agreeing to marry him.

Darell noticed their dejected expressions and chuckled slightly.

"It is just the magic classes. We will be together in combat classes."

Although they were reluctant at first, Darell managed to make them agree to the fact. He spent extra fifteen minutes trying to console Emma who wore a dejected expression on her face even after she agreed to it. 

Darell sighed and waved them goodbye and went toward the library.

Lilith and the others entered the classroom and noticed that the entire classroom immediately became silent. They knew it was because they were quite famous and we're considered geniuses among the younger generation. 

All of the students looked at them. Some looked at them with awe and reverence, some of them looked at them with jealousy, and some of them looked at them as if they were their goal.

Lilith and the others found the first row empty and sat down on the seats.

After a while, all of the students turned silent as they watched their instructor walk inside the classroom.

The instructor was a beautiful lady with pink hair which was tied in a ponytail, her hazel eyes were calm and her skin was tanned which made her look like an exotic beauty.

All of the boys were instantly entranced by the lady and the girls looked at them in disgust. 

Ariel glanced at Eric but she found him devoid of any expression and was calmly looking at her without any lust toward her.

Ariel smiled at him and sneakily kissed him on his cheek.

Eric was taken aback by her daring behavior and blushed. He looked at her and found her smiling happily at him. He was entranced by her smile but he was snapped out of it when the whole classroom heard a banging sound.

*BANG*BANG*BANG*

The instructor banged her fist on the table and all of the students instantly looked at her.

She had a cold expression on her face and her gaze was ice-cold brimming with killing intent as she scanned her gaze through the whole classroom. When her gaze met Lilith's, she was shocked for a second but she instantly recovered to her ice-cold expression.

" I am Instructor Athena. I am going to be your Instructor in the magic classes. If any of you want to waste your time or you think you are above everyone else, feel free to walk through the door right now because after I start my lesson no one will be allowed to even take a break and I repeat NO ONE."

All of the students gulped in fear. Seeing the student's expressions, she grinned like an evil villain. All of the student's faces turned pale.

"We should not waste our time. The scrolls being given to you contain rank 01 spells that you have to learn in a month."

She handed the scrolls to the students and continued.

"I will teach you the basics of the spells but remember each ability has its intricacies that can be understood by the person having the ability.

So, let's begin."

The students wore serious expressions and listened to her lesson.

After a couple of hours, the lesson ended and she ordered them to start memorizing and understanding the intricacies of the spells.

She looked at Lilith who was looking at the other students without a scroll in her hands.

She walked over to Lilith. Lilith noticed her standing in front of her and stood up straight, nervously.

"I-Is there something wrong, Instructor?"

Athena smiled and said, "You have the Mist ability just like me."

Lilith understood her intentions.

Athena grinned and said, "Come, let me teach you a few rank 03 Mist spells."

Lilith got up from her seat and followed her to the back of the classroom. Many of the students didn't pay attention to them as they were busy learning rank 01 spells.

Athena began teaching Lilith the basics of Mist ability.

On the other side of the Academy, 

Darell was surrounded by a few scrolls.

As he read these scrolls, he felt as though he could perform the spells that were recorded in them. He felt something was wrong within him. Generally, learning a rank 01 spell through a scroll requires at least a month. So, even if a super genius learned them, he/she would at least need a week to learn a rank 01 spell.

Nobody should be able to learn the spell with a single glance. He thought it was because of the system.

He grinned maniacally as he thought his system was too OP. If he could find a scroll containing a space spell he could learn it in an instant.

After a few minutes, he learned 5 rank 01 space spells.

[ Space Tear ]

[Description - Tear the surrounding space to dodge an enemy attack.

The spell will not work if the attack has MP twice that of the user.]

[ Teleport ]

[Description - The user can use this skill to travel over short distances.]

[ Star Strike ]

[Description - The user can borrow one billionth of the strength of a star.

This skill will consume 100 MP every 30 seconds.]

[ Gate ]

[Description - The user can open gates to travel over long distances.

This skill consumes 100 MP per 500 meters]

[ Burst ]

[Description - The user can increase his/her overall stats by 100%.

This skill consumes 10 MP per 1 second.]

Darell was happy inwardly as he learned some useful spells. He learned that the person who had the space ability ten thousand years ago used these spells and helped the people record the spells in the scrolls for future generations to read and learn from them.

He looked at the clock and frowned when he noticed that it had only been an hour.

He placed the scrolls back in their original places and walked out of the library.

He began thinking deeply of ways to procure any remaining scrolls on space spells.

However, he couldn't think of any way to obtain any such scrolls as he knew if these scrolls were present, they would be hidden deeply away from the public's eyes.

He sighed in dejection. But, he decided to return and explore the library.

He read the historical records which contained stories about legendary beings whose power was at the apex of the world.

As he was reading this, he came across a relatively blank section about a unique existence whose powers were not properly interpreted.

He narrowed his eyes and read the name of this existence.
