Chapter 13: Abyss Of Scorched Ravens

Dungeons in this world were ranked considering the rank of the beast on the last floor which was considered the 'Boss Floor'. 

However, rank 01 to rank 03 dungeons were never approached by hunters, adventurers, or nobles. 

Why?

Because the gains from these lower-ranked dungeons didn't entice them.

So, these dungeons were used by commoners. Although, they had to pay a few copper coins to enter the dungeon. It didn't matter much to them because they would get many bigger benefits worth hundreds of gold coins in these dungeons.

Also, no noble can claim this dungeon and demand the commoners to pay them to enter it because the King himself, has claimed over these dungeons.

Any noble family claiming the dungeon as theirs would mean challenging the authority of the King which they would never do.

All the noble families, adventurers, and hunters would raid dungeons ranked 04 to rank 06.

Dungeons ranked higher than rank 07 were completely untouched because they required a large number of higher leveled individuals to clear them. 

No noble family had more than 10 high-leveled individuals. So, to clear these dungeons would mean having an alliance with other noble families.

They didn't want that as they wanted to horde all the spells and beast cores for themselves.

The Abyss Of Scorched Ravens was located in the County of Narva. It was a rank 06 dungeon which had a rank 06 Scorched Raven on the last floor.

Scorched Ravens were Fire ability beasts. They had a basic structure like that of a normal raven but their beaks were of red color Their wings had red-colored feathers.

They were the size of a horse. They shot fireballs out of their mouths.

Anyone who came across them would find them to be annoying.

Usually, a few Scorched Ravens would never attack someone without any provocation but if a Scorched Raven General was ordering them, they would attack anyone in sight.

So, most people would generally avoid them or they would kill them quickly enough to escape from the horde.

'Perfect'

Darell smiled wickedly when he saw the system's quest. 

It was a perfect opportunity to level up and fight as well. He was nervous because the system didn't give him any quest when he was training with Lilith in the Forest Of Fyn.

He thought he needed to do something to trigger the system to give him the quest.

However, he couldn't find anything that could trigger the system to give him the quest.

Now, he was ecstatic as he wanted to level up and ask the system various questions.

Also, he wanted to take a look at the system shop. He had zero system points as of now but he knew he would get more system points if he leveled up.

Darell unsheathed his sword and looked at his friends.

All of them knew what Darell was thinking so they took out their weapons ready to unleash hell on the Scorched Ravens.

Darell said "20 Ravens are coming towards us. I will take 5 of them down while the rest of you can take them down as much as you can. We have to remember to quickly take them down without wasting any time. "

All of them nodded their heads.

The Ravens flew straight toward them and cast fireballs at them.

Tsk

Darell clicked his tongue in annoyance as he saw tens of fireballs raining down on them.

Eric cast a rank 01 skill 'Earth wall'. A 20-meter-long rock wall appeared in front of them which blocked the fireballs.

The fireballs exploded when they were blocked by the rock wall. The Ravens cast more fireballs at them but Eric cast another Earth Wall to block them from the fireballs.

The Ravens realized that the fireballs they were throwing at them were of no use so they changed their attack pattern.

Darell and the others saw the earth wall get exploded to bits as it was barraged by fireballs.

But, this time the Ravens didn't cast fireballs and flew straight toward them.

Darell and the others knew what the Ravens were about to do. 

The Ravens spread their wings apart. The red-colored feathers glowed and started burning.

This was the Scorched Ravens' special skill. They would use this skill to slice off their opponent. But, their opponents this time were no fools.

Lilith used her skill 'Ice Prison' and a few Ravens were trapped in ice. She used her sword to cut their bodies in half. The Ravens' bodies disappeared when they were slashed in two.

Ariel used her skill 'Death's Scream. She opened her mouth and let out a blood-curdling scream. The Ravens coming toward her heard the scream and lost their balance. Ariel threw her chakra at them which cut their heads and flew back at her.

Eric used his skill 'Earth Golem'. Two 10-foot-tall earth golems climbed out of the ground and got ready to attack. The golems held a sword in one hand and a shield in another. They used their swords to cut down the Ravens flying toward them. The Ravens tried to slice them with their wings but they were blocked by the shields. The golems cut down the remaining ravens around them with their swords.

Emma saw three Ravens coming toward her. She smirked and used her skill 'Blind'. A blinding light came out from her body and enveloped her. The Ravens coming at her were instantly blinded when they saw the light. Their black eyes turned completely white. They panicked and tried to flee. But, Emma used her dagger to slice one of Raven's heads from its body. She threw the daggers at another Raven which let out a blood-curdling cry and died. She saw the last Raven and threw a punch at it. The poor Raven's head twisted in the wrong direction and blood splashed onto her hand. She took her dagger out from the Raven.

Darell used his sword combat technique 'Earth-Shattering Slash' and instantly cut down two Ravens.

He used the technique another time and cut down two more Ravens. Now, he only needed to kill one more Raven to complete the system's quest. He looked at a Raven flying towards him and smirked.

He casually stood and let the Raven fly toward him. The Raven thought that Darell had resigned to his death and increased its speed. When the Raven was about to pierce through Darell, he casually threw a punch at it.

The Raven was a rank 01 beast and it had a strength stat of 20 which was pitiful compared to Darell's strength. The poor Raven couldn't handle Darell's punch and its body burst due to the impact of Darell's punch. When the Raven's body disappeared, Darell saw a notification.
