Chapter 28: Mysteries Of The Forsaken Draathil

Darell, Lilith, Emma, Eric, and Ariel were fighting on the 18th floor of the dungeon.

They were progressing slowly through the dungeon because they didn't want to repeat the incident at the Abyss of Scorched Ravens.

They were surrounded by numerous monsters who were attacking them.

These monsters were goblins, goblin zombies, ogres, ogre zombies, orcs, orc zombies, etc.

The ogres, goblins, or orcs were completely white with white eyes. They didn't make a sound and were attacking them as if they were puppets. They were created by the Draathil.

However, the ogre zombies, goblin zombies, and orc zombies had various parts of their bodies covered by dark black patches. Their eyes were completely black. They released weird screeching and growling noises when they were being attacked. They would dodge and didn't look like they were puppets.

Darell realized that these strange monsters had been affected by the darkness.

As they went further into the dungeon, they saw that the darkness in the dungeon increased.

* BOOM *

Darell used Reaper Fist and blew 10 of the rank 02 orc zombies apart.

* SLASH *

He also used Earth-Shattering Slash to cut down another 10 orc zombies.

Three months had passed and Darell had increased his level to level 20. 

As he continued progressing in the dungeon, he received enough XP to level him up to level 20.

Darell felt a surge of power flowing through his body as he leveled up. This feeling was euphoric and he felt that he had become addicted to it.

While Darell was cutting down and blowing apart the monsters' bodies, his friends were also doing the same.

* BOOM *

Eric's punch was powerful enough to make a hole within the orc's body. It fell and disappeared as its body broke down.

Another orc came up behind him sneakily to attack him. It aimed at his neck as it wanted to finish him off in one clean strike.

Eric, however, had seen the orc and was just feigning ignorance.

When the orc readied his sword to attack him, he jumped forward while creating an Earth Spike at the place of the orc, impaling him.

He didn't rest because he was surrounded by numerous monsters.

He activated his skill Spiked Ground, this was a rank 03 skill that he had learned recently.

Dozens of Spikes formed from the ground and shot up. The monsters standing above them couldn't even react as their bodies were penetrated by the spikes.

The lower-ranked goblins were blown apart as their bodies couldn't withstand the speed and power of the spikes.

Eric stood up and ran past their dead bodies as he continued fighting the rest of them.

Eric had also reached level 20 and he was excited as well as enthusiastic because of the scolding he received from Ariel which helped him erase his concern.

Ariel was fighting the ogres and orcs only because she was particularly disgusted by the goblins. 

Whenever goblins tried to attack her, she would quickly throw her chakra at them to finish them off from afar.

She used her new rank 03 Sound skill Tremor Inducer. She had learned this skill when Darell was recovering from his injuries.

The land beneath the feet of the monsters surrounding her started shaking violently.

After a few seconds, the land broke off and all of the monsters fell into a large pit. She used her hands to float the remaining piece of land in the air. 

She could do so due to her manipulation of the Sound waves. She used the Sound waves in the environment to create a cushion for the rocks to float.

When the monsters fell into the pit, she used the rocks to crush them to their deaths.

She had reached level 20 due to her hard work.

Lilith was the first one among their group to reach level 20. This happened due to her ability and Athena's help.

Her ability was the Mist ability. This ability combined the skills of Water, Ice, and Wind abilities.

Only those who have mastered all the skills of these abilities can be able to combine them to form new skills of the Mist ability.

Lilith had acquired this ability from the beginning but this did not mean that she was proficient in all the spells of the three abilities.

At first, her mana was only able to allow her to learn Ice skills but when she had reached level 20, her mana had increased which allowed her to learn some rank 01 Wind spells.

* WHOOSH *

Several heads flew off their bodies which fell to the ground.

Lilith used the Wind Blade skill which she had recently learned. This skill allowed her to shape the air around her into a sharp blade that she can throw to attack.

Another group of monsters charged toward her while the dead monsters' bodies disappeared.

Lilith clicked her tongue in annoyance because these monsters didn't even let her take a breath.

She used a rank 03 Mist skill Mist Blast. She created a small ball in her hand which she threw toward the monsters.

The ball blasted when it touched the ground and the monsters surrounding it were instantly covered in ice.

Lilith disappeared from the spot and went towards another area.

Emma was trying to fight the monsters with all her strength but she couldn't do so because her ability was Light which was the direct opposite of the darkness that surrounded her.

Due to her being weaker, she could feel the pressure of the darkness much more.

Although she also reached level 20, she was still weaker than the strength of the darkness.

But, she persevered and continued to fight.

She used a rank 03 Light skill Light Breath. 

She opened her mouth and an intense white beam shot out of her mouth which evaporated the monsters.

She closed her mouth and breathed heavily.

After a few minutes, they cleared this floor and went to a safe floor to rest.

All of them had rested and recovered their mana.

Then they moved on to the 19th floor of the dungeon.

As expected, almost all of the environment had been swallowed up by the darkness.

As soon as they arrived at the floor, they were surrounded by the monsters. 

These monsters had increased in numbers and also different types of undead could be seen among them.

After a few hours of intense battle, they cleared the 19th floor.

They immediately went to a safe floor to rest.

This time they rested for a few hours and prepared themselves because they were going to challenge the boss floor.

When they were about to enter the boss floor, Darell was stopped by Emma and Lilith.

They looked at Darell with worry and said, 

" If we can't defeat it, we will immediately stop the training. No one has to take extreme measures."

Darell smiled at them and saw Eric and Ariel nodding with concern.

He reassured them, " Don't worry. I am not planning to sleep for another week."

He started laughing but he stopped when he noticed that his joke had been interpreted the wrong way.

He shook his head and said, "Let's go."
