Chapter 44: Red-Fanged Orc

Darell and the others were sleeping in two separate tents.

After they collected the beast cores and rewards from room 8, they decided to quit for the day and start tomorrow.

The main reason for doing this is that if they continue to clear several rooms in a single day, they wouldn't fight properly against the monsters because continuous fighting would exhaust them physically and mentally.

So, they came up with such a tactic to prevent themselves from exhaustion and build themselves up for fighting monsters.

Darell was sleeping in the middle with Emma on his right who was using his right hand as a pillow and stuck to him like a koala.

They had learned to control themselves and had decided to do the deed after marriage. Also, they would often sleep like this whenever both of them stayed together.

Lilith was hugging his left hand and had one of her legs over Darell as she stuck to him and peacefully.

Lilith would often sleep with Darell and this habit started when she was scared one night and asked to comfort her when she was four.

She had always considered Darell as her pillar of support who would correct her if she had done something wrong and advise her on numerous matters.

Furthermore, he was her only sibling and she didn't want to lose him ever.

In the other tent, Eric and Ariel were sleeping peacefully.

Eric squinted his eyebrows and opened his eyes. He yawned and smiled as he had a peaceful sleep.

But, he suddenly felt something soft and squishy on his right hand.

He grabbed it and began to fondle it without looking over.

Suddenly, he heard a weird sound.

"Ahnn~~"

Eric snapped his eyes open and looked to his right. He saw that the soft thing he felt was actually Ariel's breast and she was looking at him with a red face.

She grabbed his hand and pressed harder over her chest as she said, "I-If you want, then we don't need to wait for marriage. I-I am willing to do it."

Eric blushed heavily and quickly withdrew his hand and ran out of the tent while saying, "I-I am sorry but we d-don't need to do it now and we can wait until marriage."

Ariel watched him run away like a cat whose tail had been stepped on and grinned wickedly.

After a few hours, all of them had woken up and were having breakfast as they talked with each other.

Finally, after breakfast, they entered room 09.

The room 09 had two doors on the eastern and western sides. A chute descended from the room into a natural cavern below. 

Darell and the group carefully observed the room and then observed the monsters in the room. 

The monsters stood around 16 feet tall. Their skin was a deep, ruddy brown color and their hair ranged from brown to black. They are humanoid in shape but they had low foreheads, stooped shoulders, thick limbs, and elongated arms. 

They wore animal hides as their armor to protect themselves and carried a large boulder on their shoulders. 

Ariel said, "Well, there are 4 hill giants here. Who wants to do it?" 

"I will do it. " Lilith immediately replied. 

She unsheathed her sword which was glowing with a bluish tinge and used Fog Of Dread around the giants.

As soon as the giants were surrounded by the fog, they began shouting and jumping causing the room to wildly tremble. 

"Woah!" Eric exclaimed as he tried to stand still amid the shaking floor. 

Lilith used this opportunity to kill the first giant by piercing the sword into its skull. 

The other giants saw her and began attacking her. 

She used its head as support and jumped on another giant's head nearest to it. The other giants threw the boulders towards her but she had already jumped towards the third giant and pierced its skull. 

The second giant on which she landed previously had its head exploded by the incoming boulders. 

The last giant wildly threw punches in the air but to no avail as Lilith had already pierced its skull from behind causing its death. 

* THUD *

The four giants' bodies collapsed on the floor and Lilith walked out of the fog as it disappeared.

Everyone gave her thumbs up as a result of her victory. 

Later, they extracted the beast cores with much difficulty as the giants' skin was tough, and collected the rewards for defeating them. 

Then, they entered room 10 which was completely empty and provided them with much-needed relief. 

After some time, they chose to enter room 11 and they saw that it was also empty. 

Then, they entered room 12 which immediately gave them a sense of danger. 

10 giant bats were flying around 8 red-fanged orcs who looked menacing in the armor and with the hammers they wielded. 

Darell used Inspect and found out that the giant bats were rank 02 monsters and the red-fanged orcs were rank 03 monsters but their strength had already broken past the threshold of rank 04 monsters. 

Darell said, "I propose we take out as many monsters as we can and beware of the orcs because they are stronger than they look." 

Everyone nodded and began attacking the monsters. 

Darell teleported right above the head of an orc and swung down his sword. The orc reacted quickly and used his hammer to block the sword. 

Darell smirked and before the sword collided with the hammer, he teleported behind it and pierced its chest. 

The three giant bats hovering over the orc screamed as they attacked him. But, Darell used Earth-Shattering Slash and cut down the bats.

* SPLURT *

Dark red blood splattered on the floor and a nearby orc ran toward him while raising his hammer to attack him. 

Darell teleported right in front of him and before it could react, he used Reaper Fist and punched it. 

* BOOM *

* SPLURT *

Greenish-red blood splashed on his armor as he made a large hole in the orc's chest which led to its death.

Darell stood up and looked around to see that everyone else had finished killing the orcs and giant bats. 

He began extracting the beast cores and a short while later, he collected the rewards from the platform.
