Chapter 43: Wiping Out The Hobgoblins

Vylan, Alfith, and Alfen entered room 22 after collecting the rewards and beast cores from room 56.

The room 22 was a dark room with four doors in it.

They rested for a short while and began to choose the next room. A few minutes later, they chose to enter room 23.

The monsters resembled large, muscled human-like monsters and their bodies were covered with red-brown or gray skin and red or orange faces.

They had dark brown or yellowish eyes. They were lean and tall almost reaching six feet.

Alfen said, "Well, there are a dozen hobgoblins here and there are three of us.

We should kill four of them each, right?"

Vylan and Alfith nodded.

Alfith used Wind Walk and instantly arrived in front of a hobgoblin. She tried to pierce the spear in its neck but the monster blocked it with its club and jumped back.

She was excited and swerved the spear and used the air to push the hobgoblin back and used Wind Bullet to pierce its arms, legs, and chest while cutting its head off with her spear.

* SPLURT * 

Blood splattered on her armor and she narrowly evaded the attack on her face by a hobgoblin behind her. 

She used Wind Tornado and the three hobgoblins surrounding her were caught by the tornado and blown to bits. 

* BOOM *

Bits and pieces of the hobgoblins scattered on the floor. 

Alfen spun her axes violently and used Wind Blade on the hobgoblins in front of her. She stood away from them. 

* BOOM *

Two of the hobgoblins had their bodies cut open and their innards spilled out and fell on the floor. The two died on the spot after being cut open. 

One of them narrowly avoided the attack but one of its arms was cleanly separated from its body. The other hobgoblin blocked the attack with its weapon but due to the weapon being weaker, it shattered. 

Alfen threw one of the axes towards the hobgoblin who had successfully blocked the attack and used Wind Walk to arrive at the hobgoblin who was desperately trying to stop the bleeding from its body. 

It saw Alfen instantly arrive in front and it raised the club with the other hand and attacked her but it was just an after-image and Alfen arrived at its back and swung down the ax splitting it into two. 

She switched her attention to the hobgoblin who was trying to block the incoming axe with its body and she arrived behind it and swung down her axe. 

* SPLURT *

The hobgoblin's head flew off and blood splattered all over the floor. She caught the incoming axe with her hand and looked around to see that Alfith and Vylan had already killed the monsters and had begun to cut open their bodies to extract the beast cores. 

She also began to collect them and they also collected the rewards from the platform. 

They rested for a while and chose to enter room 24.

The room was dimly lit by some candles placed in the holes in the walls around the room. There were three doors around the room and they led to different rooms. 

A circle of tall stones stood on the south side of the room and someone had scrawled "The Temple Of XXXX shall be lost" on the south wall. 

The three of them observed their surroundings and then they saw the monsters in the room. 

About 15 hobgoblins were standing in the room. 

Alfith said, "There are three more hobgoblins here than in the previous room."

Vylan patted her shoulder and smiled at her, "One more for each of us. Not a big problem, right?" 

Alfith stared at his smile and looked away and replied shyly, "Let's do as you say." 

Alfen shook her head noticing her sister's reaction. 

Vylan unsheathed his sword and ran toward the hobgoblins while leaving a trail of fire behind him. His sword began burning with flames all around it and his appearance changed as he transformed. 

The hobgoblins raised their clubs and protected themselves upon noticing their enemy approach them. 

Vylan slashed his sword while running and a fire blade attacked the hobgoblins.

They created a shield made up of the rocks underneath their feet and successfully blocked it but their shields broke apart under the assault of the fire blade. 

Vylan smirked and jumped toward them. He slashed his sword downwards on top of the hobgoblins. 

* BOOM *

The hobgoblins were blasted by the power of the attack and all of them died due to the destructive power of the attack. 

Vylan raised his head and placed the sword on his shoulder as he looked at Alfith and Alfen. 

The twins were still fighting with the monsters which made Vylan shake his head. 

'They are still playing with them' Vylan thought and began cutting open the bodies of the hobgoblins to extract the beast cores. 

As they finished collecting the beast cores and the rewards, they decided to rest for the day.

Before anyone could say anything, Alfen quickly took out a tent and placed three pillows on the same bed in the tent. 

She walked out of the tent and grabbed Vylan's hand and said, "I am feeling cold. If I sleep alone, I am afraid I won't be able to fight well tomorrow. Will you help me?" 

She gazed at him with an innocent expression and waited for him to reply. Alfith was speechless at her sister's behavior.

Vylan immediately said," Of course! I would help you. "

Alfen stared at Alfith with a sinister smile and replied," Won't you warm me up tonight, my dear Vylan~~?" 

Before he could reply, she pointed at Alfith and said, "Alfith would also sleep with us. It is dangerous to sleep alone." 

Alfith froze on the spot and she was dragged along with Vylan to the tent by Alfen. 

She imagined various scenarios in her mind and her face became as red as a tomato and she secretly glanced at Vylan who was being dragged with a dumbfounded expression.
