PROLOGUE

“WAAAHHHHHH” In the middle of a forest clearing devoid of almost all life, a baby just barely out of his mother’s womb cried out to the world.

As the Baby’s cries rung out around the forest, rustling came from the shrubs around him as a monster appeared. Bloodied and battered, the tier 2 giant wolf stumbled out into the clearing leaving a trail of blood and gore behind it.

As the beast lurched forward, it sensed the lowly lifeform that lay in front of it and recognized it as a pup of the same species that had left it in such a haggard state. Shambling forward, it tried to open its giant maw in one last act of defiance, a petty form of revenge against its would-be killers. As death approach the unaware babe an arrow shot through the air at almost unperceivable speeds, skewering the wolf’s remaining eye and directly piercing its brain.

“Shit! What the hells a kid doing out here?!” Exclaimed the archer as she rushed into the clearing. The woman had brown hair tied up into a ponytail coupled with a tight, camo-green outfit in order to allow easy hunting within the dense forest that her party had set out to explore. If any sane person who had eyes saw her walking down the street, they would classify her as the gentle, older sister type who anyone with a heart would want to be pampered by.

“Emily get the fuck over here! NOW!” Yelled the archer who instantly shot through and destroyed the gentle aura which surrounded her. As she looked over the newborn baby for any obvious injuries, another woman in a white robe rushed into the clearing.

“What’s the matter Emily honey? Scrape your knee or something?” As the second woman threw out some idle jokes, she saw the baby in Emily’s arms and immediately rushed over with none of the slow movements she previously held. After clearing the 20-meter gap between them in about a second, she gently grabbed the boy from Emily’s arms and lovingly caressed his face as she ran through her healing skills to dispel and unseen injuries or illness.

“What in Helios’ name is a kid doing out here?! I can’t sense anyone nearby, so he must’ve been out here from at least before we started the hunt.” As the two girls checked their surrounding but found no clue of the boys’ parents or whoever left him here, they noticed the pendant wrapped around the boy’s arm. Whether it was on purpose or not, the boy who couldn’t even think for himself yet subconsciously grabbed at the flimsy pendant which held a symbol of a simple sword.

As the two girls who now held tense faces looked from each other to the young boy, they came to a silent agreement and walked back into the dense forest to re-group with the rest of their party.

6 YEARS LATER

A young boy with black hair and dark brown eyes walked along a thin pole even thinner than the width of his already tiny feet. As his face frowned in concentration and he stuck his tongue out trying to focus on his balance as much as possible, the boy slowly shifted along the 10-meter pole which he had set out to conquer. After reaching the halfway point, a suspiciously strong breeze came out of nowhere, resulting in him falling and landing butt first as he fell backwards.

“Hahaha! You’re five years too early to even think about beating the pole it looks like you little twerp!” Cried out the archer who had saved the boys life 6 years prior.

“Aunt Celia you spoilsport! I would’ve had it this time too!” Shot back the boy in response as he brushed himself off and rubbed his sore behind.

“Who you calling Aunt?!? HUH! Say it again, I dare you!” Yelled out the no-longer gentle looking archer as she pulled the boy into a headlock and roughly rubbed at his head. As the two acted out their older and younger siblings play, a reprimand came from the side where two more beautiful girls lounged languidly.

“Celia stop bullying him already, just train Alex like you said you would once he can cross the pole.” Said one of the girls who held a katana next to her as she lounged and soaked up the warm sun which beamed down onto them. The girl wore a dark purple set of clothes accentuated with strips of black which made her raven-colored hair stand out even more. Her gentle voice gave her the disposition of a motherly figure despite her body and face which could be at most 25 years old.

“With all due respect your highness, piss off. If you think training him would be so fun, then do it yourself you lazy princess!” As the two girls started a bickering contest which truly showed how close they were, the boy stealthily slid out of the loosened headlock and made his way to the other girl whose muscular figure made her look older than she truly was.

“Are we still good for our workout later Sarah?” asked the young boy as he mercilessly poked and prodded at the girl who was drooling and snoring away.

“Huh? Uh year sure, let’s get some lunch first though” said the newly awakened girl as she stretched her body, revealing a number of scars amongst her tanned and muscular mid riff as she moved her arms up and over her head.

“Ugh fine I’ll start training him starting tomorrow, but only if you give him some lessons as well, so he doesn’t end up dumb as a brick like you Abby.” As Sarah and Alex made their way into the little house connected to the backyard they were in, Abby and Celia’s argument had finally come to an end with an agreement on Alex’s education and physical training being made.

“Lunch will be read in a minute everyone. Alex, you finish up on the pole yet?” Asked the blonde woman who was busy cooking from a number of different pots and frying pans at the same time.

“Nah Celia cheated again but I think I’m finally going to get some training anyway.” Replied the boy as he sat himself down on the chair which he had yet to grow into, resulting in his feet helplessly dangling mid-air.

“Ohhhh poor little you, get any cuts or bruises you want me to look at?”

“No thanks Emily, I’m all good”. As the two had finished their conversation, the group of four beautiful girls and one young boy sat at the table and made a silent pray to the Sun God Helios before they dug into the simple yet delicious meal in front of them

7 Years Later

“We live in the Sol Empire which hosts the Tower of Dawn in the Capital city, our main deity is Helios the god of sun, warmth, and compassion. The empire is run by a number of guilds with the main ones being the Church of Helios, the Blades of Sol, and the Guardians of the Sun. The top guilds work together with the Royal Family mainly to manage the dungeon but also to protect our empire from any invaders. Next to the Sol Empire is the Lunar empire where Abby comes from- “

“Very good, that’s enough for now. Go get ready for your training with Celia.”

Inside of a small room filled with bookshelves two people sat at a desk littered with a number of books explaining the history of the three empires. As Alex got up to return the books, he had gotten out to help his studying sessions with Emily, the girl in question watched the boy clean up and couldn’t help herself but reminisce over how much the boy has grown. From the previous small and meek looking child, he had hit a growth spurt and started shooting up recently causing him to be at the same height as Emily who stood at a height of 5’8. Considering how many years the boy had left to grow, he may end up towering over even Sarah who stood at 6’0 making many men look small and fragile in comparison.

Shaking herself out of her idle thoughts she slowly followed the boy who had rushed out to continue his training sessions with Celia. Hm maybe less training and more of being a living punching bag. As she thought of Celia’s unorthodox training style, she walked outside of the humble abode which the part of four plus Alex lived in.

Residing in the outskirts of both the empire and the village they stayed at, the group was largely self sufficient with the rest of their needs met through trading with the villagers or any merchants who bothered to come out this far into the boonies.

Walking into a clearing within the forest behind their house Emily found Sarah and Abby watching the spectacle whilst shoving popcorns into their mouths as they lounged on comfy chairs that they had built purely for these spectating sessions.

In front of the group was a young child getting mercilessly dominated by an older woman as she did not let up even after he begged her to stop.

“It was a joke, Celia! A joke! You’re not THAT old!” Yelled out the boy as he played a game of dodgeball with the absurd number of blunted arrows which flew at him.

“Oh? Say that again and maybe I’ll start putting in… hmmm... 50% effort?” replied the girl as her sadistic tendencies would put an overeager drill sergeant to shame. Now that the group had been retired for 13 years now and their age had started to slowly crawl upwards, their sensitivity to ageing comments had seemingly multiplied. Yet even after reaching the age of <REDACTED>, the group of girls maintained their youthful appearance thanks to the mana within their body trained through grueling trials within the dungeon.

Seeing that Alex had begun to have a little more leeway with his evasion of the arrows, Celia stepped it up a notch and started to imbue small amounts of mana into every couple of arrows. This seemingly simple task was only possible due to Celia’s skill at handling mana but if any other person were to attempt the same, Alex would most likely have been skewered multiple times by now.

After about five minutes of straight evasion which felt like an eternity to Alex, Abby finally stepped up which caused Celia to cease her fire and Alex to lay on the ground panting for dear life.

“Oh, come on it’s not that bad, now get up or I’ll beat you up while you lay there.” Called out the swordsman wielding a long branch as she threw a similar shaped branch to Alex as he slowly stood back up.

Not giving him time to think she rushed at him with her stick and swung a simple overhead strike, yet despite the simplicity of her move Alex struggled to block it due to the perfect coordination that Abby had which resulted in her movements lacking any inefficiency.

“Right shoulder, Neck, Leg sweep” As she lazily called out her next moves with a nonchalant expression, Alex had his concentration to the max as he used all he had to defend the strikes that held just a fraction of the girl’s power.

With his muscles burning with lactic acid buildup, Alex fell to his knees and used every part of his willpower just to be able to hold onto his sword as he fell. With the final blow coming just inches away from the top of his head, Alex collapsed once again trying to recuperate as much as possible before the next round of deadly dodgeball with Celia started up once more.

Watching his training from the side Emily struggled to hold herself back from healing the exhausted boy as she knew that healing would only slow his muscle development, but watching the boy get back up once again just to survive through the ordeal named Celia, she came to one realization.

Yep, this kids going to be a monster when he’s older.
