Next day, inside the main castle, dining hall:

Leon, tired of what has happened this night, poured some peach juice into his glass. I still can't believe it...everything is ruined. He drank up the juice and poured himself another glass.

On the other side of the table, King Aubert, closely watching his son.

"Did something happen? You don't look so good." - Aubert asked, taking a bite out of some fresh carrots.

"It's nothing." - Leon replied with an exhausted voice, pouring himself another drink.

How am I supposed to tell my father that I, his only son and future ruler of this kingdom, awakened such an useless ability? It would be better for me and his mentality to pretend that I have yet to awaken.

"Don't lie to me. Everytime you feel down, you drink that juice like there is no tomorrow." - Aubert replied, reaching his hand out to grab another carrot.

"What about you? Whenever you are stressed, you devour so many carrots." - Leon replied, laughing at the sight of his father putting back the carrot.

"Well, if you must know. It's just the daily political stress. The Rorid Kingdom is showing signs of hostility, the citizens are unsatisfied and our military is decreasing in size as we speak. If this goes on, we will have some rough times." - Aubert sighed, now leaning back on his chair.

It's worse than I thought. Our kingdom is in such a dire situation, but what can I do? I'm the only mental support that my father has, I can't disappoint him.

"I've been thinking about the social gathering that I'll be attending this evening, that's why I look this tired." - Leon lied, trying to ease the worries of his father.

"Oh, is that so? Be sure to have fun. And no matter what they say, ignore them. You know they only do it to boost their own ego." - Aubert said, trying to comfort Leon.

"I already know that. I won't let them do as they please, you know how I am." - Leon said, standing up and getting ready to leave.

"Where are you going this early in the morning?" - Aubert asked curiously.

"I feel like going for a walk in the city." - Leon replied.

"Alright. I'll send someone to pick you up for the social gathering later, so be sure to return on time." Aubert said, reaching out for some more carrots.

Leon nodded and left the room. Although he lied about why he was feeling so tired today, the fact that he was attending a social gathering was true.

My poor father. He has such a rough time because of me. I can already see some white parts in his spikey hair. Although he has a big physique, deep down I know that his mentality is holding him back. All this stress with mother, the kingdom and me...it's slowly getting to him. Hold on for a bit longer, father.

I'll make you proud!

Capital of Theanad, on the full market streets:

Leon, disguised with a robe and hood, is walking through the busy streets. 'The citizens are unsatisfied', huh? This certainly does not feel like it. Maybe it's like this because I'm in the capital?

He continued walking down the road, reaching a remote area of the city. It's so quite here, is this area really the right place? He continued walking through the place, looking for a specific address. After a few more minutes of marching through the area, he found the place he was looking for. This place...looks abandoned.

The place Leon was looking for is the so-called 'School of Nature'.

Abilities are not unique to one person. Multiple people can have the same ability. Thus, 'Schools' have been established. Each school focuses on one main 'Attribute'. People that have an ability similar to the attribute can then visit the school, trying to improve their abilities with the knowledge gained.

Each city has their own schools. However, schools with certain attributes are more popular than some others. The most popular school is the 'School of Fire', the most common 'Attribute' for people. This is also the place where most of the successful students get raised.

And then there is the 'School of Nature', the least popular school. Although there are many people with abilities similar to this attribute, there is no reason to attend it. The abilities are mostly disappointing, from 'growing plants a bit faster' to 'talking to animals'. Yes, these might be useful abilities. However, there is no reason to continue studying them, since abilities like these are not life changing. At least, that's what the people think.

'School of Nature', huh? It truly is the worst school. Without even going inside, I can already tell that they are barely able to maintain this place. The location is at the edge of the city, far away from all the other schools. The building itself is crumbling, and the atmosphere has nothing to do with nature.

Leon sighed and started walking towards the entrance. Yet, here I am, entering such a place. He opened the door and entered the building. But if I want to be useful, I have to figure out my potential first.

"What...is this place?" - Leon asked himself, taking a look around the room.

To his surprise, the interior was the exact opposite of the exterior. Plants, insects and even some animals decorated the room.  Sunlight that was different than the one outside was projecting a heart warming pressure on Leons chest. In the distance, echoing from the other rooms, one could hear water splashing on rocks. The air was covered in a lovely fragrance, almost putting Leon in a daze.

"I never actually visited a school, but this..." - Leon said with a surprised voice, taking a step back.

"Why don't you come in?" - A mysterious voice spoke to Leon.

This is the school of nature after all...what did I expect. Although the exterior of the building looks like an abandoned tavern, the inside stays true to its name. He then pulled himself together and walked inside, looking around the room and touching some plants on his way. Come to think of it, how big is this place? Wasn't it just a small building? How is there so much space inside?

"You seem to be surprised. What's the matter? Did you never see the true form of nature?" - The mysterious voice asked.

"And you are?" - Leon asked, looking around the room, confused as to where the voice is coming from.

He then spotted a bird, hiding behind some flowers.

"Looks like you found me." - The voice giggled.

The bird hopped out of her hiding spot and started transforming into a human. The light flashed Leon, causing him to turn away and miss the transformation. Transformation?

"Hello, my name is Maiya! And who are you?" - She asked, sitting down on a rock next to the river that is flowing through the room.

"I'm...Arvon." Leon lied, looking around the room again.

"Alright, Mr. Mysterious. No need to be so suspicious." Maiya giggled.

Is she a student here? He stared at Maiya, trying to figure out what to do. She...looks annoying.

"Do we have a new student?" - An older man asked, entering the room with a few people.

This looks like the teacher. And the people behind him...students?

"I am here to enroll, yes." Leon said, turning his attention towards the man.

The man was rather tall with scars all over his body. Shining green eyes and hair. One wouldn't be able to tell if this man raised or fought nature.

"It seems like you're trying to hide your identity. That's fine by me, I don't care who I teach. As long as you are willing to learn, you are allowed to join the school. However, to not waste too much time, please show me your ability." - The man yawned, sitting down on the ground.

The other students did not say a word. Everyone watched Leon, waiting for him to show his ability. This is embarrassing. I'm supposed to show my ability in front of all these students? What if they find out who I am? My reputation will be dragged to the ground.

"I'm waiting." - The man said, carefully observing Leon.

Alright...I have to do this...there is no turning back now. Leon then focused on the nearby soil. Alyssum!

.....

....

...

And with that...an Alyssum grew.

Silence...

"Alright, seems good. We are about to head to the lesson, so feel free to join us now." The man said, standing up and walking towards a different room.

The students followed him. No one had any remarks on Leons ability.

I don't know if I should feel sad that no one said anything or happy that I didn't have to kill anyone for laughing. He quietly started following the students. I hope this place is worthwhile.
