Chapter 41. The Royal Demon Capital (3/3).

 

After our little conversation with the others from the other side, the two of us laid our backs on a sofa with a maid handing us some tea and cookies. You really can’t underestimate the luxuries of living in such a palace. You’d have maids all around you ready to serve, knights ready to battle, and butlers ready to take over your work at any point in time.

 

It was no wonder why Helesta, who despite being a Queen, was able to be on the town almost every day since she throws all her work onto her servants and those servants would then just come to visit her every time they need her.

 

“What kind of tea is this?” I asked while taking a sip of the refreshing tea.

 

“It’s Pearl Grey tea, did you like it?” Helesta responded with a grin whilst she continued to sip on her tea as I nodded.

 

“Pearl Grey huh… I haven’t heard about that kind of tea but it sure is delicious,” I complimented before looking at her with a serious look, “Anyhow, you said earlier that you wanted to show me something that should have an effect on my current known powers. What is that thing that you want to show?”

 

“Right! There was that… but we have to go out a bit if you want to see it. Do you have wings to use, or do you want to piggyback on me?” she grinned.

 

I didn’t hesitate and immediately released both of my wings that I haven’t used in a while. They were tiny wings, but they do pack quite the power. If I remember correctly, the last time I opened up my wings a bit was during that boar hunting with Ayaka but since this place is known for demons with wings as well then I have nothing to fear at all.

 

“Your wings sure look quite cute and incredible. It’s almost like you aren’t a vampire at all but an angel. I was expecting some sort of blood-colored wing to come out, but I’d never expected you to have the wings of an angel,” she looked in awe.

 

I was confused and turned around before seeing my wings looking completely different. They were still tiny but they weren’t the same wings that I wore for my lifetime. It was pure white feathers with a bit of gold, not to mention, the wings were glowing yellow.

 

“Did you perhaps meet some kind of deity and received a blessing with them?” she inquired before a sudden memory came into my mind. It was that time when I intruded into the Divine Goddess’ place by pure accident.

 

I immediately popped open my statistic window before the title which had been full of bright red question marks suddenly showed something else.
