I woke up the next morning to find that my body had turned back to the way it was originally, as a boy.

Hoping that all that had happened yesterday was just a dream, I looked around for Char, finding her standing there over my bed, looking into space as her brows furrowed in deep thought.

"Char." I mumbled quietly.

As the excellent maid she was, she immediately came out of her stupor and looked at me with a worried face.

"Are you okay, Young Master?"

"Yesterday, last night, that actually happened, right?" I asked, my fear apparent in my tone.

"Yes, Young Master."

"Do you know why?"

"No, but, from what I saw, I can probably make the conjecture that you turn into a girl whenever it gets dark outside. As for the exact conditions needed, well, we'd need more data points in multiple different scenarios."

"Okay."

That was my only response, as I thought about my predicament.

After all, it was obvious who was the cause of this, that loli/grandma.

But, why was she so obsessed over the fact that it needed to have been a girl that found that pool of magical water?

I mean, judging by my knowledge of the novel, I was pretty sure that the pool had been an inheritance left behind by that loli, but, as she was there, it didn't seem like she was dead yet, so, why did she leave an inheritance?

These questions distracted me for a second, but Char quickly pulled me out of my thoughts again.

"You should go check up on Ms. Vasilie, I heard that she's shut herself in her room."

'Huh?'

Confused, I almost asked Char to repeat what she had said again, but I knew that I had heard her perfectly fine.

So, quickly getting Char to dress me in my backup uniform, I left my dorm and headed towards Vasilie's, Char having to give me direction before I left.

"Knock Knock Knock!"

Rapping on the door of her dorm, I was only met with silence.

"Vasilie, it's me."

"Ly-Lysander?"

Almost immediately, I heard some shuffling on the other side of the door, and before long, she unlocked it and let me in.

Taking a look at her, I knew that something was very wrong with her character.

She was a mess, literally. It was apparent that her clothes had just been put on and her hair was just so messy, a far cry from what it usually was.

So, not even thinking about it, I instinctively started fixing her hair from behind her, as she suddenly closed the door.

"W-what are you doing?"

"Fixing your hair, it's a mess."

So, she just stood there, frozen like a statue, as I fixed her hair in one of the most awkward positions for the both of us possible.

"Would you like to take a seat?" I asked, trying to make it easier for both myself and her.

"...Yeah."

Moving over to her dressing table, she sat down, and I moved behind the chair, continuing to fix her hair as best I could with my hands before she handed me a comb, which I then used to make her hair look a lot better.

Carefully combing her hair, I tried to replicate the techniques that I had seen Char use on my own hair for the entirety of this new life of mine.

And, I was actually pretty successful, but that was probably because it was pounded into me in my last life to be able to learn things just by looking at them.

After a little while, I finally finished, and stepped back to admire my work.

She also admired my work, as she looked at her hair in a few different poses in the mirror, touching it gingerly before turning to look at me.

"Did you see anything?" She asked.

"No I didn't. I have never been in your room in my life, I never was, and never will be."

Hearing this, she smiled, knowing that I understood her intentions, before pointing at me to sit on her bed so that we could talk face-to-face.

Before she could say anything, I reassured her of my safety, and that nothing had happened to me.

"Then, what did you do? Even your maid didn't know where you had gone in those three days."

"I don't know actually..." I replied, as it was the truth after all.

I mean, how the fuck was I supposed to know where that space was, the copy of my own subconsciousness where I had gained enlightenment.

Hearing my answer, she looked at me skeptically, raising an eyebrow, but then continued,

"Your punishment for breaching the contract is to accompany me on 3 excursions." She said, getting right to the point, not wasting words, like her original character, thankfully.

"Excursions?" I asked, wanting to make sure what the definition for that was, as I was now super confused about if she was the same as in the novel, or if she had changed somehow because of the butterfly effect of me being here.

"Just normal life stuff... I don't have anyone else to go with..." She said, the volume of her voice dropping to almost a whisper when speaking the second part.

"Okay." Was my only reply, as I knew that this was a lot laxer than it could have been, but her request honestly made me more confused.

But, it was my duty to make it up to her for breaching the contract, so I earnestly agreed.

"I will use one of those three times right now!" She declared, suddenly, causing me to jump a little.

"So, can you tell me the story of your life?" She asked, awkwardly trying to start a conversation.

"Well, I was born, I was exiled, I trained, and then I was told to come here."

"..."

"How about you?" I asked, trying to cut through the uncomfortable silence.

"I was born, I trained, and then I was told to come here."

Hearing this, we both realized something.

And, although we didn't know exactly what it was, we could both feel a sense of kinship.

It would only be later before I found out what had been so similar between Vasilie and I.

We were both no-lifers.
