A/N: So, this is the second to last chapter before the end of the volume. Expect an existential crisis tomorrow.
"Guards!" His pathetic voice echoed throughout the inner room of the venue, as everyone looked at him with disdain in their eyes.
Looking around exasperatedly, he continued to shout for the guards of the Endendyk House.
But none showed up.
I mean, he was pretty dumb if he hadn't realized that no guards would show up by now.
And that was why everyone else was looking at him in disgust, as he obviously didn't know how noble society worked.
After all, if this lowly butler dared to raise his voice at such an important event, then it was obvious that he would be destined for death.
This was taking into account the temperament of the Head of the House, and so, everybody had expected it.
Char was a famous person after all, one that many people recognized, and it was a well known fact that she served House Endendyk as their Head Maid.
So, it was also fully in her authority to teach the Third Young Master a lesson.
"Third Young Master, the Master was the one that ordered the death of this bug, Butler Raynard, and now, he has also ordered for me to discipline you in any way I see fit."
Hearing this, my younger biological step-brother's eyes widened in disbelief, as he never expected to hear this tone of voice from somebody dressed as a maid.
And, keeping in character with how dumb he was, he retorted,
"You think I would believe that? Just wait until father comes, he'll surely mess you up!"
The venue, which was already silent, descended further, into a silent madness.
Most people, like the Third Young Master, were also in disbelief, but for a completely different reason.
They couldn't understand how a member of House Endendyk was this dumb!
It was just unfathomable! Something that they couldn't wrap their minds around!
And to call the Head of the House "father", that was truly disgraceful, and completely out of line with the standards of these aristocrats.
Now, everyone was questioning the competency of the Head of the House, and well, that just warranted an even bigger punishment.
Honestly, I felt a little bad for this kid, as I now knew that his mother, my dad's new wife, was obviously a commoner.
Anyways, Char, not wanting the face of House Endendyk to be ruined any further, disappeared along with the Third Young Master, leaving the slightly less problematic Fourth Young Lady standing there in shock.
"W-who are you?" She asked, her voice no louder than a whisper.
"A demon." I replied, as the silence eventually came to a complete standstill, its mouth completely dropping to the floor.
...
It had been a few minutes since the "event", and by now, everything had returned to normal.
Honestly, it was astonishing the attention span of these nobles, being able to quickly switch their mind from being enamored by a certain "scene", to chatting amicably with each other again.
I mean, all the ones in the inner venue knew about what I was, so the news that I was a demon, well, a demonic seed right now, didn't cause any shockwaves or anything.
As for the Fourth Young Lady and I, we just stayed there, staring at each other for a few minutes, before both of us blinked, and we found ourselves sitting at the ends of a long table.
I could feel that Char was standing behind me, and, recognizing this familiar room, I knew exactly what was about to happen.
So, I decided to take the initiative.
"How's it been, dad?"
(A/N: Just saying, I'm purposefully writing the parts where MC addresses his dad as "dad" even though it's a personal pronoun, which, according to grammar, is supposed to be "Dad" with a capital "D". I'm just keeping it lowercase because I want to show how lowly he thinks of his biological dad.)
"Don't call me that, you demon." He replied, with the exact same amount of snarkiness in his voice.
'Oh? His personality has changed?'

After all, who would have thought that the stone wall that was the Head of the Endendyk House actually knew how to be snarky.
In my opinion, it was definitely because of his new wife, she must have affected him.
But, if this was the case, then that meant that he actually loved her... more than my own "mom".
This thought immediately reminded me of something, as I quickly glanced down the long table.
But, my "mom" was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, the woman that my "dad" was about to be married to was there.
"You've really fallen from your original standing, haven't you?" I remarked, intending to prod the bear, testing the waters.
"It's not like you can say anything." He replied, calmly, as he stroked his fiancé hand on top of the table.
"Well, you willingly chose to become weak. I, on the other hand, was forced down onto my knees."
"You know that my actions were the only logical ones to make at that time."
"Then why the fuck did you betray "mom"? At least, if you're gonna go on a fucking spree, then make sure to not get those whores pregnant!"
Hearing this, my step-brother, who was sitting closer to my "dad" than me, immediately flushed a deep shade of red in anger, but he stayed silent, his lesson having presumably been learned.
As for my dad, he just continued to stroke his mistress' hand, as he sat there unfazed by my comments.
"I love her, and she loves me. It's just something that neither you, a demon, or your mother, a crazy bitch, will ever understand." He said, whilst staring into my step-mom's eyes, trying to show his conviction and loyalty to her.
Hearing this, I smiled on the inside, as he had just royally fucked up.
But, I didn't show my happiness anywhere, as I continued to prod him with a bored expression on my face.
"At the very least, couldn't you have taught your bastards better?"
"You responded to the kiss, so it wasn't like you were taught well either."
"At least I'm not a crazy cunt or a smooth brained, well, bastardly bitch!" I said, showing a bright smile on my face.
You see, I knew that the key to ending this conversation was to make it so that either my step-mom or step-brother blew up in anger, and it seemed like I was succeeding, as calling him a "bastardly bitch" was surely ramping up his internal temperature by a few degrees.
So, I decided to drive the nail in, deep.
I was basically going to drop a mountain on the camel instead of just adding a straw of hay.
I wasn't one to half ass it anyways.
"He's also a dirty brother who's in love with his sister. Are you sure you want these mongrels giving birth to clubfooted inbreds in an incestuous relationship in the future, ruining the bloodline?"
And, even though I had directed this question to my "dad", it was my step-brother who responded.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU..."
"Thump!"
He was never able to finish that sentence, as something burst in his brain from all that anger, and he fell to the floor.
Seeing this, I smiled, but then grimaced, before motioning to Char to take me away.
His dead body, lying on the ground, as blood pooled under his ears, disgusted me to the core.
He had only gotten what he deserved, for being a dumbass in this tragic world.
I would never be like him.
"..."
I think...
