Chapter 2
"Where are we?"
"I'm not sure. The room looks like a laboratory to me."
"There aren't any windows. How can we get out?"
David searched around the room, but he didn't find anything. The room was large, but it was dull and boring. It had nothing in it except some shelves holding jars of chemicals. A man walked out of the room. He didn't look at us when he walked by.
"It's time to leave."
"How are we going to do it? Do you have any ideas?"
"No, but we have to get out of here sooner or later. I think we have to rely on luck."
"Maybe it was the right thing to do. What do you think?"
"I don't know. It's too late now to turn back."
"Let's do it."
"Okay, but we can't stay too long. There's no point in running away if we can't get out of here. I think we should head back to the staircase and look for a way out."
We walked back to the staircase and looked around. We didn't see anything. David turned on his flashlight and found a door. He opened the door and went through. I followed him, but I wasn't so sure about what we were doing. When I went through the door, I saw that I was in a corridor with only one door. The corridor was very long, and I thought it was impossible for me to find a way out.
"David, I don't know whether this is going to work out or not. I want to go back."
"I don't. Keep going, and you'll see something interesting."
I thought that he was just trying to convince me, but I believed him. I continued down the corridor and came to another door. I opened the door and went into another room. There were three doors on the other side of the room.
"It's time to leave. Come with me."
"Okay, but I don't know if this is a good idea."
"It's the only way. Come on, hurry."
I followed him and we went through one of the doors. We entered a corridor that was a lot longer than the one we were in before. It seemed like we were going around in circles. The walls were all white and there were no windows. David stopped and started looking around.
"We must be close. We're almost there. Let's keep going."

"Do you see anything?"
"No, but I can feel something behind me."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. It's like when I was with the people in the laboratory. I feel something there."
"You mean, in the room?"
"Yes."
"Do you see any light?"
"No."
"How far are we from the stairs?"
"I don't know. Maybe a few minutes. We're almost there."
"That's good. Let's go."
We kept walking for a few more minutes in the corridor. The walls were very close to us and I could feel them touching me. When I looked around the corridor, I could see a door at the end of the corridor. The door was partly open and I could hear someone out there. They were talking to David, but I couldn't hear anything they said. I decided to stay where I was and wait. As I waited, I looked around at the corridor and noticed that everything was white. I looked in front of me and saw a doorway. There was no wall on the other side of the doorway, and I could see a long corridor that led somewhere.
"David, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to look in there."
"What is that corridor?"
"It's the way we came in. It leads somewhere."
"That's not going anywhere. It doesn't seem to be leading anywhere."
"We'll find out soon enough."
He walked ahead of me and went into the doorway. I followed him and saw another corridor. I heard voices again, and David started walking. We walked for a while until we reached a door. When he opened it, I saw a room with a staircase. David climbed the stairs and I went up after him.
"David, don't go up there yet! It looks like a trap."
