‘I’m fucking dead.’  Abraham thought, as he was watching several tentacles rising out of the ocean.

The sea had become extremely chaotic. The waves rose up to be extremely gigantic and it looked as if an extremely large storm was taking place. The waves looked completely otherworldly. They rose up like a wall accompanied by the disgusting tentacles. And the ocean had become utter chaos.

But of course, this was no mere storm.

Instead, something extremely Vile was the cause of this.

But as to what it was, Abraham had no clue.

He could only guess that it could be some squid-like creature from the tentacles.

‘This sort of reminds me of that famous tentacled fictional monster… whatever its name was.’ Abraham thought bitterly.

He retracted his gaze from the rising tides that defied logic and focused his attention to the movement of the tentacles.

The tentacles themselves looked extremely horrendous. They were covered with deep blue scales on the top of the tentacles. It somewhat resembled a reptile. The tentacles themselves were around a metre broad and the size of a one story house each. Albeit, there were some exceptions which were much larger. However, at the bottom of the tentacles, several puke-inducing dense hair grew out. Each being almost the size of the tentacles

The amount of tentacles looked almost endless as they slowly swallowed the sea. However, there was something strange.

‘Why the hell isn’t it attacking?’ Abraham thought, tightening his grip on his sword. At this point, his hands gripping the sword began bleeding. But he couldn’t care less about that. Currently, his main focus was the monster in front of him.

Some time passed. It felt as if time was frozen for Abraham. He kept staring at the tentacles, ready to attack the second one approached him.

But that never happened.

Instead, he was almost frozen on his spot, filled with fear.

Gradually, he got a hold of himself. ‘This isn’t the time for me to be afraid…’

‘But why isn’t it attacking?’

He suddenly got an idea. He put his sword back into the sheath and  took out a bow that was tied to his back using clothes. Along with the spear and a quiver holding about 30 arrows.

The bow was made of dark metal and was about as big as his body. He took out an arrow from the quiver. And looked at a tree not too far away.

‘It should be far enough that I don't get caught up in the aftermath. And hopefully close enough so I don’t miss.’

Abraham aimed at a small branch on the tree. ‘Hopefully these arrows are enough to pierce it. But oh well, it wouldn’t matter much even if they don't. It should cause enough noise either way.’

What Abraham wanted to test was whether The creature was able to respond to noise. But that was not all that he wanted to confirm. After all, he also had to make sure what the bottom line for the creature's hearing is. That is, if it has any. Thus, to Abraham, this little experiment would prove to be extremely vital for survival.

‘Alright. No more delaying. Let’s do this.’ After a moment of hesitation, Abraham drew the bow and focused straight on the branch.

However, just as he was about to let go of the arrow, something strange happened.

He felt all of his energy being sucked out of him. ‘Wha-’

He had no time to react. As soon as he left the arrow, it flew at a speed far greater than what an arrow would have achieved.

It was almost like a bullet.

Crack!

Accompanied by a loud bang, the sound of wood cracking into two could be heard.

Abraham hurriedly turned his attention over to the tree. Turns out, he had missed the shot and it instead hit the trunk of the tree. But that did not matter.

Abraham currently was extremely baffled by the damage the arrow had done. It completely pierced through the tree and caused an explosion of some sort.

Leaving the tree completely destroyed. ‘Shit!’

Abraham had a sudden realisation as he quickly looked over at the tentacles.

‘My god…’

Several tentacles intertwined together to form a monstrosity taller than a 4 story building. With the putrid har sticking out from them, it looked absolutely vomit-inducing and terrifying.

‘How am I supposed to survive against that?’ Abraham’s eyes had lost all their hope. He fell on his knees. Staring at the Tentacled monstrosity like a mad man. But this was natural. After all, he had never seen anything remotely similar to this before.

It was terrifying. Almost maddening.

The ocean trembled. The blood crimson rays protruding through the clouds gave everything an extremely eerie and sinister look.

The black waters of the ocean shone with a crimson glow, reflecting from the sky. Forming gigantic waves half the size of the monster. And several other smaller tentacles scattered throughout them.

The giant tentacle dashed towards the broken tree with a speed so fast Abraham couldn’t keep up with his eyes.

Utterly destroying that part of land. Replacing it with debri and dark water.

It left Abraham completely terrified. Unable to think straight.

He had seen several terrifying things in his life.

But nothing came even remotely close to the madness of this creature in front of him.

To Abraham, It looked as if… an evil god had descended the world.

But of course, In reality, he wasn’t even scratching the surface.

The strange creature slowly scattered away into several smaller tentacles.

The black ocean had calmed down to a certain extent. Now with several tentacles and hair crawling through it.

This entire ordeal had left Abraham completely stunned. It took him quite a while to calm himself down. And when he did, he realised an important piece of information he had ignore.

He looked over to the bow in his hands. Which was now completely cracking and looked as if it can break with a simple touch. His lips curled up into a smile and his eyes regained the hope they had lost.

‘Well this changes everything.’
