Chapter 7: First kill

After sensing his ancestors departure, Jesse instantly collapsed to the ground while his whole body was shaking from fear, and you can even see sweat mixed with blood dripping out of his forehead like a little rain . 

But he still had that big smile attached to his face. About the garbage his ancestor spoke about, Jesse knew what he meant while not helping but giving another glance to the hole inside of Bell's body. 

When Jack was talking to Jesse , he was extending his pressure to his whole body the entire time and that's why he couldn't help but kneel and kowtow that hard, it's so that his old Ancestor can take pity on him and let him live, he already knows how cold and savage this ancestor of his is and that's why he introduced Bell to him while acting like he is helpless ( while he was indeed helpless about the whole matter since the other side is simply stronger ). He was hoping from the moment he noticed the old man walking towards him for such an ending or a similar one. 

As a gust of air spread into the environment. You can see earth bullets hitting the last wolf's head penetrating deep into its skull, and a similar scenes or close to it were visible on the other wolves dead body's , and like that it died hitting the ground. 

Jessica collapsed to the ground heavily panting trying to catch her breath, she lost all of her mana killing this low level wolf pack, even though she neared tier 1 and could take care of them without any risk. She still doesn't have much mana to support such expenditure.

After all tier 0 mages can indeed absorb mana from the surrounding environment and use it to cast their spells. But there is always a limit to a tier 0 mages body ability of how much mana he can absorb and if he try to take in more than he can then his insides would basically collapse. 

And that's the second reason why it takes time to advance, but the more mana they absorb and circulate, the more their bodies get used to mana, and after doing that process till they can actually absorb and circulate mana while talking or eating. Then what's where they hit the limit of tier 1 and have to form their dantian so they can advance to tier 2. 

However even without dantian, tier 0 + tier 1 mages does contain mana inside of their bodies, and that's in their blood, but of course it's only a little amount compared to a dantian. 

But that's already so helpful since that mana can keep making their bodies stronger than average humans so they doesn't tire or require much sleep or food, sadly if they run out of mana inside of their blood, they will still go back to being as fragile as normal humans. 

Of course, this only works for people below tier 2, after all with a dantian, things are totally different for mages. 

And the most important reason is that tier 0 /1 mages can still use that mana contained inside of their blood, While fighting to fasten their spells casting, because it's way faster than absorbing mana and then using it to cast spells. 

Mike was having it way easier, he was simply cutting down trees and happiness was written all over his face, after all in this 1 hour he already managed to lvl up 3 more times reaching lvl 7 with little to no effort.

Mike actually found out that even dealing 1 dmg  to the beasts ,the system will still give him the experience for the kill,  so he was simply throwing rocks from time to time at the 3 beasts Jessica was fighting while gathering wood at the same time, he honestly wanted this to go on forever, but he had to change his plans upon seeing his sisters condition after fighting vs the wolf pack. 

Jessica was gonna start circulating her mana to recover some of it inside of her body but when she sat cross legged, she noticed the communication device litting up in her pocket, so she instantly pured the speck of mana that she had left and activated it.

This is only the cheapest and common communication device in this whole world, and it can only receive 1 sided messages from the other half of this device (it looks like a pen that been cut into 2 halves) , so it doesn't require that much mana to operate.

After seeing the context of the message, especially the part of her ancestor recovering and the family meeting. She instantly had a serious expression on her face and gave a signal to John and Sezar to delay the beating for another time.

Jesse didn't mention the death of Bell to anyone while summoning them, since that's a subject his ancestor will take care of and it's only suitable to relay the news face to face anyway. 

John and Sezar were disappointed and even a little mad at first, but remembering that she is Bell's future bride they still chose to back down for today with a reluctant look showing on their faces.

Mike was gonna check his panel and put his free points in strength like always, but upon seeing Jessica's change of expression and the departing figures of Bell's lackeys, he almost couldn't contain his laughter and happiness.

Seems like something Happened so they had to go back, well I was gonna make my move even if they didn't go since Jessica was basically oom as a mage and that's what's called a free kill in games.

But now with the departing figures of Bell's lackeys, I sadly can't put the blame of Jessica's death on them, so I guess I won't be going back to the village and simply keep heading south till I find a village or a town, my invisibility is not forever after all so I can't go to the village and steal whatever I need.

Mike's doesn't know that he managed to escape a disaster with that decision of his, because if he went back without Jessica's to his house and his old Ancestor noticed something. 

Which he probably will since Mike's got stronger after leveling up, and as a tier 2 warrior, Jack can notice things weaker people can't, so seeing a weak kid getting stronger overnight and his sister going missing on that same day, he will instantly kill him out of rage. Because he was planing on nurturing Jessica as a mage and make her the pillar of the family but all his plans would have been destroyed if she dies. 

It's true he was healing his injuries all over this past 12 years, but Jack still informed Jesse to notify him of any outstanding kids from the new generation if any are born, so he obviously knew about Jessica's existence. 

"Father told us to go back for an urgent family meeting, seems like our ancestor is finally healed and ordered everyone to comeback so pack up and let's start moving" Jessica turned her head to Mike telling him about the order she got from her father. 

" Our ancestor?, that's good news for our family that he finally recovered, go ahead, I'll be right behind you, just let me gather those packs of wood first. " Mike said bending and starting to gather the wood in packs. 

So Jessica chose to move ahead and not wait for him like Mike suggested. 

Seeing Jessica getting up and walking in the direction of the village, Mike instantly called up the system to put his 6 free points of distribution in strength.

I wonder how much damage can i deal with 20 strength, let's just hope that i didn't risk putting all my 14 free points into strength and then I won't be dealing any evident damage. 

Seeing his sister a little ahead walking without even asking to help him out Mike instantly activated his invisibility skill. 

Owww, this feeling is actually unique, I wonder if I should become an assassin hahahaha. Ehm, let's first focus on the task on hand right now. 

 Even thought I'm leaving the village now and I don't have to kill Jessica, I will still do it for the sake of that Gucci experience that a level 22 will give. Ehm no, no,  this is me taking revenge for the owner of this body for how much he endured after being bullied for years, ye ye that's the reason indeed hehehe. 

Dead Mike, Thank you for the body, I'll be sending your sister next to you so you don't feel lonely wherever you are. 

Thinking up to this point Mike grabbed his axe and started slowly moving towards Jessica from behind, while trying his best to not step on any broken branches or something, he wasn't surprised after seeing that the axe turned invisible upon touching her, cause he will have to get naked whenever he activates the skill if only him can become invisible, which will honestly be super weird if that was the case. 

After 40 seconds of moving stealthily without making any sound , Mike finally catched up to Jessica . 

Fck dude, it's really hard to try and sneak up on people without making any noises, well I finally catched up at least. Saying this Mike strenghened his hold on the axe and directly smashed it on the back of Jessica's head with every strength he could generate from his body. 

Upon contact with Jessica's head, the axe directly penetrated into her skull, but it didn't go all the way and stopped half way through her head. But that was already a dead blow to her anyway. 

After retracting his axe from her head, Jessica's body collapsed into the ground making some sound upon contact and generating some dust cause of the crash. 

Huh?, Mike was actually so puzzled about this for a moment, he was not panicked or anything of that sort cause he killed someone, he already done so in his past life, because of some guy that wanted to play hero while he was robbing a little shop alone. If you step between Mike and his benefits or goal, then he won't care about who you are or what you are, much less killing a human, he will gladly turn into an ant if it means reaching his goal. 

What puzzled Mike the most, that he even ignored the system's notifications ranging in his ears, was Jessica dying so easily.
