Ryker has been walking for about 10 minutes now. He was taking his time and looking out for traps and monsters. ‘I'm gonna take a guess and assume I'm in a dungeon.’ the dark gray stone, the whinging corridors, the glowing stones oozing strands of mana, it just made sense.
He took a moment to think about his friends and family. He was sure they would be worried about him. And he wished he could have said goodbye before he got isekai'd, but honestly right now he's happier than he’s been in years if they knew that they would be happy for him.
He was kicked out of his thoughts, when he heard a noise that sounded like boiling sludge and as he peeked around the corner, he saw it and smiled. ‘Is that what i think it is?’ what he saw was a moving blue blob that seemed to be going down the corridor ‘It's a slime! a real slime!’
As he looked at the monster his hands were shaking in excitement. ‘You’re going to be my first monster kill!’ He thought about how he was going to do this. He knew slimes were practically moving balls of acid and he had no weapons and the corridors were completely empty.
But suddenly an idea came to him. He took off his shirt and then wrapped it around his left hand.’If this goes wrong I'd rather injure my left one.’ he stared at the slime and before he could second guess himself he charged at it.
He quickly reached it and before it could react he plunged his hand inside of it, he felt no immediate pain which meant the shirt was working. The slime immediately started moving up his arm and soon it reached some unprotected skin. “Shit!” He yelled as he felt his skin burning but just then he found what he was looking for.
He quickly grabbed ahold of it and pulled as hard as he could and as soon as he did he heard that wonderful sound.

He looked at the red stone in his hand and smiled, his guess was right the slime really did have a core. He looked at his shirt and was surprised it wasn't completely destroyed, just damaged. ’I guess these slimes dissolve flesh better than other materials.’ He guessed could use his shirt this way a few more times before it was completely destroyed.
He heard a hissing sound and looked down to see that the slime was bubbling and dissolving to nothing. “Huh.” he looked at the core in his hand and he saw some strands of mana coming off of it.
He sat down and decided to take a break. He started meditating to calm down after the fight. When he was done he didn't get a level in the skill but he still enjoyed it. ‘Meditating is pretty nice who would have thunk.’ He stood up and started walking. And it didn't take him long before he encountered another slime.
He rewrapped his hand and charged he was careful not to burn his arm this time and it was a flawless victory

He smiled and couldn't help but use a few stats. He put 2 in strength and agility and 1 in endurance. Getting burned by acid was not a good feeling. He wondered how many points in endurance he would need to completely make him immune to it.
He hit confirm and he felt the change immediately he felt a rush of energy coming from his solar plexus and it flooded into his body seeping into his skin and muscles a few seconds later the process was over. He took a look at himself, his skin felt tougher, his muscles denser and more elastic.
He made a fist and threw a punch, It was faster and had far more strength behind it. He smiled and had to resist using the rest of his points. He thought it was somewhat surprising that the energy came from inside his body and not from his surroundings.
‘Now that I think about it, that energy came from the same place as my mana.’ He thought maybe that's where his soul is or at least where his mana and exp is stored. Before he got going he decided to mess around with mana some more. 'Let's see if I can get another skill.’
He closed his eyes and focused on the mana inside of him, it was always clearer than the mana in his surroundings. He focused his mind on trying to move the blue strands of mana trying to get it to move along his arm and out of his palm. At first it didn't work but then he changed his thinking he imagined the mana flowing through his circulatory system along his arm and to his palm.
He smiled as he saw the strands of mana start to come out of his palm he quickly imagine the strands melding together and forming a ball, once that was done he put more mana into it .He heard a ding but he ignored it for now all of his focus on the glowing blue ball in his hand.
He started putting more and more mana into the ball until he felt his control slipping, he then pointed his hand down the corridor and willed it forward. The ball went flying through the air. It went about 35 feet before it slowed down then hit the floor with a small explosion.
His smile got wider as he heard another ding, his gaze fell to the shirt wrapped around his hand and an idea came to him. He took off the shirt and concentrated on his mana and once again willed it to his hand instead of forming a ball, he made the mana coat his hand in a thin layer.
He knew if he just added more mana it would become unstable. But he’s read story’s where mana listened to the user’s intent to some extent. So as he was infusing more mana he centered his thoughts on making it not only stable but tougher and flexible too. And soon he heard the dig he was looking for.
He took a look at his hand and saw the thin transparent blue barrier. ‘Those slimes won't be a problem anymore.’ He was about to dispel it and check his notifications when another idea came to him.
He focused on the barrier and willed the intent to change. Instead of tough and flexible, he wanted it to enhance. He watched as the mana seeped into his hand and after a few seconds of concentrating a blue glow began to emanate off of it. He made a fist and he could feel the power in it.
He turned to the nearby wall and punched as hard as he could. His fist landed with a boom and Cracks spread all over the stone wall. As he felt the power leave his fist he heard another notification. He laughed out loud the feeling of power was exhilarating.
“Well time to see what i've learned” he had a huge smile on his face as he opened his notifications.
