He meditated for about an hour when he heard a ding. ‘Right my meditation skill was level 9. I'm guessing I can rank it up now.’ he then excitedly opened the notification.

Ding!

You have reached max level in the skill Meditation Rank F

It is now available to rank up!

He immediately tried to rank up the skill and was surprised  when he was presented with 3 options.

Meditation Rank F

Meditation Rank E

You Restore a far greater amount of stamina and mana

Battle Meditation Rank E

You are able to use Meditation while moving

Healing Meditation Rank E

Your wounds now heal faster while using Meditation

He discarded healing meditation as soon as he saw it he could already heal himself with stamina so it wasn't needed.

‘So it's between meditation and battle meditation. Meditation seems to be a direct upgrade changing nothing, that's good but with battle meditation i'll be able to basically increase my regen speeds permanently and with the calming effect i won't ever panic while fighting.’

With that thought he came to a conclusion and chose battle meditation.

Active: Battle Meditation Rank E 1/25

Calms the mind and increases stamina and mana regeneration by 10% when in use.

“It increased to 10 percent!?” ‘I wasn't expecting a direct increase from ranking up but I'll happily take it.’ he began to meditate once again he decided to try searching his head to see if there was a form of energy there.

He noticed the difference as soon as he started when before he had to actively maintain it, now it was like flipping a switch, he didn't have to focus on it at all. He grinned “I definitely made the right choice.”

After around 20 minutes and finding nothing he gave up. He was confused if his dantian theory was correct there should be something there. ‘I saw mana and stamina on my status before I could sense them, so maybe I just don't have access to whatever's there.’

Before he got going he decided to make a new ranged skill. ‘Mana bolt is great but it's a bit much for F rank mobs.’ he started forming his mana and he noticed with his mind in a perpetual state of calm it was far easier to focus on controlling his mana.

He knew what he exactly what he wanted to make he started with a ball of mana then molded

It until it resembled the shape of an arrow. He didn't want it to explode like a mana bolt so he infused the intent of stability into it, besides he could always change it on the fly if he wanted it to go boom.

Because of his high wisdom and title, it didn't take long got something he was happy with. He fired it into the wall and it flew with impressive speed. As soon as it hit he heard that wonderful sound.

Ding!

For completing a special action you have gained the skill Mana arrow!

You leveled up, you are now level 10!

Ding!

You have reached the max level for F rank you can now rank up your race and select a class!

He was shocked he didn't expect the skill to be e rank considering it he made it to be weaker than his other skills. ‘I guess all spell type skills are automatically E rank.’ He excitedly brought up his status and was about to rank up when he stopped himself.

He already could kill the mobs here pretty easily if he ranked up now he had a feeling this entire dungeon will a breeze and as silly as it sounded he wanted a challenge he wanted to test his new abilities against something strong

But he also knew that he might be losing exp if he killed anything while at max level, not to mention the unnecessary danger he would be putting himself in. “I'm being an idiot aren't i.” he mumbled to himself.

He thought of another positive. He was fairly certain that the boss in this dungeon would be E rank and he was almost positive he would get a title for killing something a rank above him

After thinking for a while he came to a decision. He would  see if his exp was stored when he killed something if it was then he would continue if not he would rank up. He stood up and started jogging down the corridors.

It didn't take long until he found some goblins, when he turned the corner he saw a group of 3. It looked like they were talking to each other, well more like arguing. 'I've never taken on multiple enemies before.’

He wasn't worried though he casted mana arrow 3 times he took aim at the first goblin and fired. It hit it square in the forehead and it fell to the ground. The two looked at their comrade in shock. He quickly aimed and fired again, but  his aim was off and it only grazed its side.

He let the last one loose on the same one and it hit in the chest it fell with a bloody gargle. The last one broke out of its shock and it screeched then charged at him. But he didn't panic with his meditation, his mind was calm and he only saw it as a mild annoyance.

He filled his lag with stamina and as soon as it was in range he used his superior reach to spartan kick it right in the face. He felt its face crack on his foot as it went flying. It didn't die from that but it was definitely unconscious.

He swiftly made his way over to the two prone forms and used his dagger to end them. And just like that the fight was over and he brought up his notifications

Ding!

You have Slayed a (F) Goblin level 6.

Less Exp gained for killing something below your rank!

Mana Arrow has leveled up!

Ding!

Battle Meditation has leveled up!

“So i already count as a E rank huh” the notifications said nothing about nothing about exp being lost so he got what he was looking for ‘let's just hope that i still count as being lower rank when it comes to titles.’

He thought back on the fight and smiled. The effect meditation had in battle made him seem like a combat veteran, he realized now that the regen speed boost was just a bonus and not the other way around. He had vastly underestimated how powerful having a calm mind during combat truly was.

He threw away his dagger and picked up a new one not covered in blood. “Enough distractions, let's clear this dungeon.”
