Chapter 13: Ch 13. Mana

"So, this Troy Windsor only briefly wrote about the bull that he personally witnessed. He didn't give much about others but being an other worlder I know these beasts."

Zodiac. In this Zodiac world, these beasts may be apocalyptic and unknown but in Earth most people know about it. 

Zodiac is a diagram used by astrologers to represent the position of planets and stars. The most important point is that it is divided into 12 sections, each of them representing a constellation which is in a band of celestial sphere.

Even if Troy Windsor haven't write about them, Glade who was from Earth already have the knowledge of Zodiacs. In Earth, everyone have a zodiac sign in which they are born. So, it's impossible for him not know about it.

From the book, the beast Troy Windsor talked about is Bull. A bull which is very huge and it's trait is it's overwhelming strength which can uproot everything.

And in Zodiacs, the only thing this bull can represent is the 2nd Zodiac - Taurus.

"If Troy Windsor is correct, then I have to defeat all 12 beasts according to the zodiac. Maybe having extra knowledge can be an advantage but without enough strength it can't be utilized. It seems the road to wish is hard enough."

Glade closed the book and turned off the lights to sleep for the rest of the night.

'I have gathered pretty much information from here. If I go out now, I think I will have no problem. Tomorrow, I will visit the queen to discuss about my departure.'

Eden Palace, Queen's Office....

"So, it seems you have decided to depart, Mr. Hero?" The Queen said to Glade who was standing in front of her.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I think staying here will not give me any benefits." Glade spoke with a straight face.

"*Giggles* I like your straight responses. I will allow you but I still can't let you go with no basic knowledge."

"...." Glade just stared her because he didn't understand what she meant to say.

"From your looks it seems you didn't understand anything. Amoura, bring the activation crystal." Queen turned to her secretary and ordered her bring an activation crystal.

"From the first time I saw you, I was pretty shocked. Do you know why?"

"I don't know."

"Here, when a person borns, he has mana in their body. It's a inheritance and it's absolute. But you were not the one among them. I didn't find any mana in you." The Queen smirked at him.

'Did she realise that I am different from other humans? I am from different world, probably that's reason I don't have mana.'

"Oh?" Glade showed a surprised expression as if he himself didn't knew that.

'He is acting. How cute!' Queen saw how Glade desperately trying to control his composure.

"You know, your fake expression makes me laugh. As a royalty, I am an expert in reading those face expressions."

"...." Glade changed his face to calm one. But his eyes were showing wariness. 

"Don't show me those eyes. I can tell you are wary of me. Don't think I will do something. After all you are a hero to this kingdom."

Even though the queen spoke, Glade still didn't lowered his alertness. If anything happens, he is ready to fight as his last resort.

At this time the red haired secretary - Amoura can near the queen with a blue glass crystal which was shining brightly.

The Queen gestured her to keep it on table.

"This is an activation crystal. Everyone uses this to start their status. Status is a system that helps a person, to aware of their abilities. Even though you didn't have mana, your adaptibility is what intrigues me. That's why you have those eyes of yours."

"Eyes?" Glade touched his eyes and didn't felt anything different about them.

"Hmm... Watch here." Queen said to him.

Sylvia started gathering mana at her right hand and then formed a fire on her hand. Glade who was watching her, saw some blue glittering substance moving from her abdomen towards to her hand. And slowly that blue substance somehow became fire. He was shocked!

"From your expressions, it seems you saw this time." Queen nodded her head after watching his face.

"Yeah.... I saw some blue substance moving from your abdomen towards your hand. What's that?"

"That's mana. Mana is an energy that helps in every aspect in our life. Magicians use it to use different magic spells and knights use it to form aura. It is in any living being. As long somebody is alive, mana is bound to be inside it." Sylvia explained him.

'So, mana is just like electricity. An essential energy. But it's more versatile than electricity. And can be directly controlled by living beings. No wonder, she was doubted me because I had mana.'

"Now talking about your eyes. Maybe because you have no mana, being exposed to natural mana for a long time might have mutated your eyes. It seems you can mana flow through any being. And it's a great advantage. If you see the flow, than you can prepare knowing that an attack is going to come from a certain direction."

"I understand. It seems I owe once again." Glade thanked the queen. Even if he is selfish, has his motives for being here, Glade is a person who return favours. Having the fairy queen helping him so much, Glade was a little moved and promised himself to repay the favour by solving her kingdom's problem.
