Chapter 8: Ch 8. Prophecy

*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*

Amoura knocked the queen's office thrice. Normally the throne room is in Avalon, but this palace - Eden is queen's personal palace. Any formal ceremonies such as giving off rewards, or meetings are held in Avalon. In other words, Avalon is Royal Palace but Eden Palace is queen's personal home. 

Amoura who was currently standing in front of office's door was watching Alex with side gaze. And a heat rose from her face, as she remembers the smile she saw on his face. 

'That smile was really beautiful.... No! What I am thinking?'

"Come in!"

A sharp, domineering yet beautiful voice came from behind the door. Amoura who was daydreaming quickly knocked off her wandering mind and steeled herself.

Glade who heard the voice also knew that this meeting is a very important one for him. 

*Gulp!*

'Looks like I am a bit too much nervous.'

Glade thought as he notice his shivering hands.

The maids who were guarding outside opened the door.

*Creak!*

The wooden door opened up and finally Glade saw the one who rescued him - The Queen of Gloria - Queen Sylvia Windsor.

The rulers of this country is chosen through blessings. When the queen's life will come to an end, a new queen will be chosen randomly. 

Queen have a trait which is different from all fairies. The wings are big and more shiny which makes it more enchanting. So as old queen's life comes to end, the fairy whose wings grow unexpectedly and more lustre started to appear on it is chosen as the heir of throne.

The Queen of Gloria is chosen by fate. The one with fate of becoming a ruler will become queen. And Sylvia Windsor is one of the fateful one.

Sylvia Windsor. Queen who possess both beauty and power. This is Glade's second time meeting the queen. The first time he met her was the time he fainted. But he wasn't able to see her properly except her inconspicuous silver hair. But after meeting her, he could admit that she was really beautiful. A beauty which can make men fight the heavens for her. Anything that stands out from her would be her long waist length lustrous silver hair. And the wings which are more bigger than the rest of the fairies.

She was sitting on her chair but still one could say from a glance that her figure was good as well. But for Glade, instead of admiring the beauty, he has more important things to do.

Sylvia put down her pen and then stared at her secretary - Amoura and at the quest - Glade.

"Welcome to Gloria, Mr. Glade."

The Queen said with a smile on her face. Her eyes were sparkling with interest over him for some reason.

'She is showing interest towards me !? Maybe because I am a human. But that reason shouldn't be enough for her? After all, I believe there must humans out somewhere. So, the point is what's going on here?'

The queen waved her hand and both the maids closed the door. Amoura who was standing by Glade's side walked off to Queen's side.

"Now, tell me Glade. What do you want as reward?"

"Reward?" 'Why she is going give me a reward? I don't think I have done something helpful to her or to this kingdom.'

Looking at Glade's confused look, queen understood why Glade couldn't understand her words.

"Looks like you haven't informed. But that's okay. I was the one who told Grandma Plum to not tell you. Now listen clearly, Glade you are the first human to visit, this Country of Fairies - Gloria! And as per traditions, I the Queen of Gloria - Sylvia Windsor will fulfill your wish!"

"Wish?"

Glade still couldn't understand any of her words. Even if he is the first human to come here, what's that have to do with reward.

"What!? Do you have any problem?"

"No! It's just that I don't understand why I am being awarded. After all even if I am the first person to come here, I don't think that's an achievement for queen to personally reward me."

A very logical argument. Glade was correct. Even if he came to Gloria as a first human, he shouldn't be rewarded. Instead, all fairies should be cautious and should be talking to finish him to protect their country's interests.

"Hmm... You really are a good talker. To tell you the truth, it is something to has with our traditions."

"So, what is written in those traditions?"

Glade asked with a quivering voice to not make Sylvia angry.

"Long ago, a prophet of Gloria made a prophecy that one day there will be a day of great peril in Gloria. And he wrote in the old records about it -

"When the land of fairies is going to dry,

A savior will come to island from faraway land,

But to acknowledge him, fairies should give him a trial to try,

And if he succeed, then give him the thing he needs the moment,

And then he will complete the task of bringing the seed and the sand."

"So, are you thinking of me as a saviour in your prophecy!?"

"Yes, Mr. Glade. Gloria is in great peril."
