Valerie’s POV
It was still 8 am, but I was already sitting in the salon at the office with Maria, Magda, and Lena. I had told them to meet me this early because I did not want to be interrupted by Mia. She really could not find out about this, because it would ruin everything.
Yesterday, during the final rehearsal, the most brilliant plan had come up in my mind, but I would need some help to pull it off. So, I contacted my fan club without disclosing too many details and arranged for this meeting.
So, the first obstacle would be explaining to them, that I was in love with Mia, and wanted to confess to her today. I hoped they would not take it the wrong way.
So, there I sat, in front of them. A bit more nervous than the usual lady killer I played. They were clearly waiting for me to speak.
“This is about Mia.” I started. I immediately noticed a frown appear on their faces. They probably hated the fact that I was spending so much time with her.
“You see, I am doing this play as Juliet for her.” I continued.
“Yes, we know. Claire told us about your noble challenge to redeem yourself.” Maria said with a glint in her eyes.
What? They know already? And there I was circling around the subject ever since I did my make-over. Well, at least this would make things easier.
“I intend to confess to Mia after the play, and I would like your help to set it up, so Mia won’t find out,” I told them.
Now they looked at me with eyes full of disbelief. “Didn’t you just tell me you knew?”
“We knew of your noble quest to redeem yourself, but now you are telling us you want to conquer her heart.”
Stupid me. I got excited and jumped to conclusions. Of course, Claire would not have told them everything.
Mara, Magda, and Lena started whispering among themselves. I was preparing for the worst.
When they were done, they turned back toward me.
“We have decided to dissolve “the prince’s fan club.”
“So, you won’t help me?”
“It’s been on our minds and has been discussed several times now at club gatherings, with how you and Mia act these days. So, we decided to start a new club.”
I looked up at them and they squeaked out “The Romeo and Juliet fan club!”
“The two of you look so perfect together,” Magda said.
“We used to be so jealous, but when it’s you and Mia, we understand perfectly.” Lena then added.
“So, we changed the name of the club to show the change of purpose,” Maria said.
I had trouble following what was happening? Were they going to help me or not?
“From now on our club will watch over the two of you from the shadows. Oh my God, I can’t believe this is actually happening!” Maria said.
“Our fan club was getting divided with so many Mia supporters these days. We will finally be able to be united again.” Lena said with a sparkle in her eyes.
“We can finally spread Mia x Valerie stuff without being afraid of being banned from the club. This will be so much better.” Magda said.
They were talking so fast among each other. I was getting a bit dizzy.
“So, about my confession, I tried to lead my conversation back to where it started.”
“I wonder how it is going to go.” I was immediately interrupted by Lena.

“Yes, I wonder which of them would be the top. I could see it end both ways.” Magda said.
“We will know soon, won’t we? But it seems like Valerie will top, if she is the one to confess.” Maria said.
“But I don’t see Mia as someone to be taken down that easily,” Lena replied. “Yes, she really changed. She is hot stuff right now.” Magda said.
My entire relationship with Mia was being analyzed in front of me. This felt really embarrassing but I needed their help so I did not interrupt them. Of course, I would manage to top Mia. That was why I needed their help. To bring her the perfect confession and topple the scales once and for all.
What was I even thinking? She hadn’t even said yes to the confession yet and here I was worried about who would be top or bottom. I was afraid to let my mind wander to the place that feared she might say no. I had never been as nervous as now over a simple confession. Not even when I confessed to her the first time. And after that, well, usually it was the other way around. I did not need to confess; girls would usually confess to me.
“That is why wanted your help. I have the plan for the perfect confession.” I interrupted them again.
Now the three of them looked back at me interested. I started to explain to them what I wanted them to arrange and do for me. Their eyes grew bigger and bigger with excitement when they heard what I had planned.
“This is going to be perfect for the two of you. Count on us. We will arrange things behind the screen. The fan club is on it!”
I managed to settle that just in time. Because only a couple of minutes later Mia entered the room. The three girls gave me a knowing wink and scurried away leaving me to Mia.

Mia’s POV
When I arrived at the office, Valerie sat there flirting with those three girls from her fan club again. As soon as they noticed me, they got silent, got up, and scurried away giggling. I walked over to Valerie giving her a kiss on the cheek. She looked a bit nervous. To be honest, I was too. Not just because I knew she would confess today, but mostly because of me and my big mouth yesterday.
Why did I have to ask her to be original in her confession? Now I had no way to predict what was going to happen. But whatever happened, I had to stay alert. I could not let her top me. I was determined to become the top in our relationship. Scenarios of what she could do had been going true my mind since yesterday. But still, why was she flirting with those girls. Shouldn’t she have only eyes for me on the day she was going to confess?
“What were you girls talking about?” I decided to ask her. I had been doing my best to keep my jealous streaks under control, but this one slipped out before I could stop myself.
Valerie’s eyes turned down and she said, “They are helping me with the security during the school festival.”
That was a clear lie. You will have to do better than that. So, I replied
“Need me to help too? I’m free.”
“No that’s fine. I got it covered. I just needed some help during the play. You are occupied at that moment too so…”
“Well, if you don’t want my help,” I replied. I decided to use one of these unfair attacks and watch her squirm. It was my revenge for flirting with other girls.
“It’s not like that. This is just something you can’t help me with.”
That made it worse in my eyes. Or wait… Were they talking about me perhaps?
“I see,” I replied curtly. I had hoped that she would tell me more about the confession. Like come to place x at a certain time, but nothing. Was that not how these things usually went? Maybe she had doubts and was talking it over with some friends?
This was really eating me. This would be the second time I was going to be confessed to by her, but this was the first time I really wanted to accept.
We talked for a little while longer, but Valerie dropped nothing about the confession. If anything, she seemed a bit absent-minded and nervous about the play. Was she doing this to tease me, or was she really thinking more of the play than the confession? I couldn’t bring up the doubts I was having, because that would make me the bottom, wouldn’t it? I just would have to endure until she said something.
Quickly enough it was time to go to the gym hall to get ready for the play. 9 am. Ms. Stick had been adamant about that. Since we were playing for the queen, Anna had arranged a professional stage crew for us, and Thea wanted to tweak our dresses a little. So, getting ready would take more time than initially planned.
When we separated, it was clear to me that I would have to keep an eye on that fan club of hers. If that discussion this morning was about me, it could be that she really planned something big...
