Chapter 35: Ch35: It is do or die

After that Ben got to know the truth about Ryan. Ben thought it was a waste killing Ryan rather than if he could somehow manage to control Ryan and get his resources somehow. It would be a great help to ascend quickly and run away before the grandmaster would find a thing about him. Ben was a little scared at the same time, no matter how far he runs, he will not get away from it. There was fear and greed attacking him at the same time.

Ryan observed Ben's face, he could tell the plan was successful. Now a cut from his knife will end the game and Ben's lifeline. Ryan continued the act and behaved like a spoiled brat.

When Ryan was distracted and wimping lying on the floor. Ben quickly gestured to the squirrels to run away. Ben came with a bandage which he removed from his pocket. Ryan acted as if he saw nothing. Ben came closer with the bandage but Ryan was not cut or scratched by the rabbit, he was just hit by it. Ben placed the bandage on his arm where he got hit.

Ryan couldn't help but stare at Ben with a weird face. Nowadays, even kids would know that a bandage would not heal an internal injury. Ben was using an external use bandage for internal use. and Ryan didn't care about the bandage. He was more interested in knowing Ben's approach towards him. Leaving Ryan back on campus was a fool's job. Ben's only option was to kill Ryan to be innocent in front of the whole sunshine institute.

Ryan stood up and looked at Ben with a little anger and a growled face. Ben replied, "Young master since I was wronged and it was my shortcomings that I couldn't protect the young master. Please take my part of the treasures as well as my punishment" The acting Ryan was pleased to hear it and smiled and accepted his apology. Ben had handled the situation smoothly. 'Was he a butler before being a bandit cum thief?' Ryan thought.

Ryan answered Ben's request, "Very well, I would accept your apology. Now, take the lead and don't make the same mistake again" Ryan followed him to Ben's trap to kill him. Ryan knew the dungeon master would let any other animal attack or scare them in the way. He was now getting a gist of the garden maze. They were going toward the main part of the Maze which was the centre. Ryan was not sure but he understood somewhat Ben was trying to do.

Ryan was alarmed at what Ben was planning to do. Ben was taking him to the boss's chamber and killing him. It was his goal. Ryan had not led his guard down against Ben. He felt a little nervous about killing Ben, it was a waste of talent. Ryan wished Ben was Max and Max was Ben. He had to admit that Ben was a better partner compared to Max.

Ryan knew about his plan and still followed him to the centre of the Maze to the boss chamber. Ryan doubted if he could kill the boss alone. But he would go inside with Ben. They came to the centre and Ben stood in front of the boss chamber. It was underground. Stairs led to the boss chamber.

Ryan knew if he missed the chance. he will not get one again. he won't be able to fight Ben and the dungeon boss together.

Ryan took out his knife and attacked Ben when he was unguarded and relaxed. Ryan took Ben's life by cutting his head in one shot. He slashed Ben's neck. Last reaction of Ben was shocked on his face. Ryan took the dungeon key and sword from Ben. He checked his body, there were a few bandages and a number of papers with him.

Ryan relaxed a bit, he heard a shout from the ground. "RYAAAAN, I will kill you" The underground monster was in Ben's control!

Ryan's eyes went wide open.

He walked down the stairs to face Ben again. He saw a goat-man in the chains in front of him. The eyes of the goat were red in colour. Ryan dashed and pierced through the goat's head. He had completely got Ben off guard. He pounded the sword into the goat man before letting it have a chance to break the chains. Ryan felt like the chapter of Ben was closed but there more to it.

"I am alive, fool" Ryan was a little shocked to hear the sound. He quickly checked for the direction of the sound. It was getting ego in the boss chamber. The floor started cracking. The floor started crumbling and falling down. Ryan dashed and jumped off the corpse of the goat man.

The corpse fell on something. The entire area was covered in dust particles. He could not see. Ryan saw a giant creature in front of him. A squirrel's face, human hands, a rabbit's legs. He saw a shining crystal in his heart. He knew who the creature was. It was Ben. The Being didn't give him a chance to get back on his legs. Ben attacked Ryan. It was a near miss.

"I will crush you" Ben growled in anger. There was no time to act.

Ryan dashed toward Ben and pointed his sword at the crystal on his heart. Ben was taken back by the attack. Ryan tried to pierce the sword in the heart crystal. As the sword touched the crystal, the sword melted. Ben slapped Ryan, and Ryan was thrown into a wall. Ryan quickly got up and looked at his sword fallen on the ground near Ben. it was melting due to the extreme concentration of power.

'It was the dungeon core!'

At the same time, Ryan felt stronger after a long time. He had observed the power of the dungeon core. No, it wasn't just him. He felt a similar energy source, near his body. It was the crystal he stole from the Evil moon gang.  Ryan felt like the energy in Ben's heart wouldn't harm him. He had to take the risk.

Ben was running toward him. Ryan had to do it.

It is do or die.
