In a street in the capital, six men were observing a house while trying to hide their presence.

“That is tonight's target.” The leader of the six men spoke in a hushed tone. “According to my sources, the man living there got a big amount of money a few days ago. Enough money to allow us to live like kings for one year.”

“Hehe, finally, a big hit, boss.”

“Lucky. I was out of money already. The chicks in the club were starting to look at me with cold eyes.”

“Hahaha, Lucas, you should stop wasting your money with these women. Just get yourself a couple of girls from the slums. They are loyal and let you do whatever you want with them.”

“Pfff, I’m too young to get married yet.”

“Hahahahaha, yeah, life is to be enjoyed!”

“Be serious.” The boss glared at the five men with a cold look. “You can joke around after the job is done. Now, focus on what you need to do.”

The five men nodded with serious expressions and started to prepare.

This was not their first time doing this. They knew what they needed to pay attention to.

According to their sources, this house was inhabited by a family of three, a man, his wife, and a daughter. Of the three, only the male was in the second realm, Bloodline Awakening, and the other two were normal people.

They needed to be quick and subjugate the man before he noticed the situation. Otherwise, the operation could complicate.

During one of their jobs, they failed to subjugate a Bloodline Awakening Practitioner in time, and as result, two of their companions were killed. Thus, they knew they could not commit the same mistake again.

When the six of them were ready, they approached the house silently.

“By the way, boss, are you sure it’s safe tonight? You know about what happened last night, right? I heard that more than fifty people were killed.”

“Do you mean the Night Hunter?” The boss sneered. “You don’t need to worry about that. It must be a crazy man tired of living. If he dares to come, we will kill him.”

“Hahaha, right. I heard that he is two meters tall and his fangs are like swords. I wonder if we can sell them for a high prince.”

“Heh.” The men chuckled silently with amused expressions, however, they soon noticed that something was wrong.

One of them had stopped walking.

Turning around, the men saw their youngest member standing in place with a look of shock in his eyes.

“Gardy, what happened?” The boss asked, but then, his pupils shrunk.

He saw blood flowing from the youngest member’s mouth, then, his body fell to the ground.

And a pair of blood-red eyes appeared behind him.

“Two Bloodline Awakening Practitioners. It looks like I can finally collect the last two blood seeds.” The owner of the blood-red eyes smiled playfully.

“Night Hunter!” One of the men cried out and his body staggered backward.

Before he could recover his balance, he saw the red eyes appear in front of him, then-

*Spurt!*

Something pierced his heart.

He was unable to understand what happened as his eyes became dim, and he died.

The remaining four men became pale, and their bodies froze in fear.

“Bastard!” The boss bellowed and his eyes became red. Seeing two of his men being killed filled him with a fury that surpassed his fear. He grabbed the axe on his back and rushed towards Vlad.

Seeing that the effects of [Intimidation] had been broken, Vlad raised an eyebrow.

Then, his lips curved up in interest.

“Finally, someone strong.”

Vlad’s red eyes became excited. He unsheathed his sword and used it to stop the axe.

*Clang!*

The sound of metal clashing resounded through the darkness. The clash of the two weapons caused sparks to appear, illuminating Vlad’s handsome face.

Then, Vlad’s body was pushed back.

The boss was startled before sneering.

“I see. So the Night Hunter is someone that overestimated himself. You are just a Bloodline Awakening Practitioner like me! No, you are weaker than me!”

He pulled back his axe and raised it high before hacking towards Vlad.

With every hack, Vlad retreated one more step. He was quickly overwhelmed by the boss.

Seeing that, the other three robbers snapped out of their fear. Their faces turned red in fury and humiliation after knowing they had been scared by just a Bloodline Awakening Practitioner.

“Fuck! I will kill that bastard!”

“Boss! I will help you! We have to hack that bastard into pieces!”

“Kill him!”

The three remaining robbers then joined in the fight. They surrounded Vlad, blocking his escape route, and glared at him with eyes full of hatred.

However, Vlad’s face was calm, and his eyes remained placid.

He watched the movements of the four robbers calmly, focusing most of his attention on the boss. When he saw the boss raise his axe for the fifth time, Vlad finally moved.

[Vampire Instinct]!

All of sudden, his senses sharpened. His eyes caught every detail of the enemy as his instincts showed him the best course of action.

At the same time, [Sword Heart] allowed him to wield his sword perfectly like an experienced swordsman.

Sending mana to his legs to activate the [Leap] skill, Vlad’s body shot forward.

The sudden movement caught the boss by surprise. He could only twist his body in an attempt to avoid Vlad’s attack.

But in front of Vlad, that was useless.

He held his sword in his right hand and slashed rightwards, slicing the abdomen of the boss.

Then, his right foot pressed the ground, working as a fulcrum that allowed Vlad to turn around. The [Leap] skill was activated again, shooting his body toward the second robber.

This time, his sword easily beheaded the robber, not giving him time to react.

When he was done with the second robber, Vlad’s gaze fell on the last two.

“Fuck!” One of them shouted and turned around to escape, but Vlad was faster.

In less than one second, he was behind the robber, and his sword severed his waist, cutting him into two.

Without turning around, Vlad grabbed a dagger from his waist and threw it towards the last robber who was running away.

The dagger flew with pinpoint accuracy, piercing the nape of the last robber and killing in instantly.

In total, it took Vlad less than five seconds to take care of the four of them.

Vlad deactivated [Vampire Instinct] and took a deep breath. The cool night breeze brought the smell of blood to his nose, making Vlad excited.

However, he controlled his instincts, suppressing his thirst for blood.

Actually, the description of his first skill, [Progenitor Blood], stated that he could consume blood to become stronger.

Vlad was curious, but he refused to try it.

Even though he did not mind turning into a vampire, it did not mean he wanted to become a blood-crazed monster.

He occasionally licked the blood that fell on his body after killing his enemies, but the thought of biting people and drinking their blood disgusted him.

‘I’m not a beast. Unless it’s necessary, I will never do something like that.’

After suppressing his instincts, Vlad walked towards the boss of the group.

Despite receiving a mortal wound on his abdomen, the boss was still alive. However, he would not live for long.

Vlad did not care, though.

He ignored the gaze of hatred and fear the boss was directing toward him and put his hand on the boss’s heart.

Then, he activated the method to create a blood seed.

“Aagh!!!” The boss screamed in pain and his body spasmed violently. He could feel his blood and mana leaving his body, filling him with terror.

“Stop! I beg you! Stop!”

But Vlad ignored him. His eyes remained indifferent, as though he was looking at livestock.

Finally, after a couple of minutes, the man stopped screaming and twitching, and his breathing stopped.

At the same time, a small blood bead appeared in Vlad’s hand.

It was the fifth blood seed.
