Chapter 20: Chapter 20 – Meeting the Sisters Again

“Oh? I succeeded on the first try this time as well. I guess I already got the hang of it.” Vlad made a smile of satisfaction while looking at the blood seed on his hand.

He had killed a total of eleven Bloodline Awakening Realm Practitioners before this, but he had failed to create the blood seeds eight times. Most of his failures were at the start, Vlad failed to create any blood seed from the first four Bloodline Awakening Practitioners he killed.

He only succeeded after his fifth try. After that, it was a mix of successes and failures, but it seemed that he had finally got the hang of it. He had succeeded in his last three attempts.

After observing the blood seed carefully, Vlad put it inside a bag together with the four seeds he had gotten before.

With this, he had gathered the five seeds he needed to complete the promotion mission.

But Vlad was not satisfied with them. He planned to try to get better seeds. If possible, he wanted to get the blood seeds of Core Accumulation Realm Practitioners.

Core Accumulation was the third realm of mana. If the goal of the second realm was to open the dantian, or core, and awaken the bloodline, the goal of the third realm was to fill the core with mana.

In this realm, practitioners became able to send mana to every part of their body freely to strengthen them. Before this, mana only strengthened the body passively, but after Core Accumulation, one could strengthen any part of the body at will.

This gave Core Accumulation Practitioners a huge advantage when facing Bloodline Awakening Practitioners. In battle, a Core Accumulation Practitioner could show several times the strength and speed of a Bloodline Awakening Practitioner.

Therefore, unless the Bloodline Awakening Practitioner possesses a rare and powerful bloodline, he can’t defeat a Core Accumulation Practitioner.

According to the system standards, Vlad was not even a Bloodline Awakening Practitioner yet but an Initiation Practitioner, just a bit stronger than a normal person.

However, Vlad knew that he could not measure his strength according to the standards of this world.

Firstly, he had already Awakened not one, but two bloodlines, [Progenitor Blood] and [Sword Heart]. Plus, his physical abilities were way above normal humans.

He also possessed the skills [Vampire Instincts] and [Leap]. These two skills could close the gap between him and normal Core Accumulation Practitioners.

He did not know if the skill [Intimidation] would be useful against practitioners at the third realm, so he did not count on it, but even so, he should have a chance of defeating Core Accumulation Practitioners if he played his cards right.

Taking that into account, Vlad was not satisfied with the five Bloodline Awakening blood seeds.

Next, Vlad decided to return home. He had hesitated between returning home or continuing hunting criminals, but the chances of meeting a third-realm criminal just by wandering the city were very small. It was better if he rested well tonight and started to think about his next course of action tomorrow.

Perhaps he could ask Adora? She should know about some third-realm practitioners. She was a third-realm practitioner herself after all.

The next morning, Vlad went to Adora and Laura’s house as planned. He wanted to check if Adora had gotten any information about the man he asked her to investigate and at the same time, he was going to ask her about the third realm practitioners she knew.

“Okay. Right, Mr. Vlad, have you had breakfast yet?”

“Not yet.”

“Great. I will prepare something for you.”

“Thank you.” Vlad smiled at the cute girl, making her cheeks become slightly red.

Adora frowned slightly when she saw that, but in the end, she just sighed and said nothing.

When Laura was gone, she stared at Vlad coldly with her emerald-like green eyes.

“You are here earlier than I expected.”

Vlad smiled. At the same time, he was quite surprised inwardly.

It was due to the information that appeared in his mind when he looked at Adora.

Vlad narrowed his eyes. It seemed that he had underestimated this lady thief.
