Vlad’s eyes gleamed as he read the description of his new skill.

Just as he expected, swallowing the blood seed of a practitioner with the stealth bloodline gave him an ability related to stealth.

His lips curved up, and his eyes shone in excitement.

Just this skill made tonight’s operation worth it. Even if they failed to kill Crow, he was still satisfied.

But he did not plan to fail.

Killing crow meant getting a blood seed from a Core Formation practitioner with a bloodline. He was not going to miss it.

He did not mind falling into a disadvantage in his fight against Crow's subordinate to achieve that goal.

In truth, although Vlad was weaker than a core accumulation practitioner, the difference was not that big. The reason why Vlad was losing so badly was that he did it on purpose.

Even if Vlad fought Crow's subordinate seriously, he would be unable to kill him in a short time. He did not know if Adora could endure until then.

Thus, he devised a plan to increase his chances of killing his opponent.

He needed to increase his strength as much as possible first.

During the battle against his opponent, he feigned weakness and found an opportunity to throw himself toward the corpse of the man he had killed before.

As he expected, his opponent's hatred meant that he was not in a hurry to kill him. That gave Vlad the opportunity to extract the blood seed and swallow it.

And now that he got a new skill from it, it was time to end this battle.

With a smile, Vlad stood up and stared at the man approaching him as the wound on his chest regenerated at a visible speed.

Blood seeds were technically high-quality blood, so it was enough to heal injuries of this magnitude.

Seeing Vlad’s injuries disappear like that, the man frowned.

But the surprises were just starting.

Still smiling, Vlad opened his mouth.

“Be proud, you are about to die to the bloodline of your brother.”

The man was surprised. Before he could understand the meaning of Vlad's words, he saw Vlad's figure fade away strangely.

“That is…!” The man's eyes shrunk.

In the next instant, Vlad appeared behind him, brandishing his sword with a predatory smile.

The man’s hair stood up. He instinctively threw himself aside and swung his sword toward his back, but there was nothing there.

Then, Vlad’s sword appeared on his right.

The man barely managed to block the attack with his sword, but a dagger flew from the darkness, stabbing his leg.

“Ugh.”

Enduring the pain, he swung his sword toward the place where the dagger came from, but Vlad was not there.

The man’s face was ugly. He looked around him trying to locate Vlad, but he could only see darkness.

“… That is the bloodline of my brother. How do you have it?”

“Interesting question. What do you think?” Vlad’s voice came from all around him.

“Is that your bloodline? Does it allow you to copy the bloodlines of the people you kill?” The man spoke out his guess.

Vlad chuckled.

“Close, but wrong.”

“Is that why you are helping Adora to kill the boss? Are you after his bloodline?”

“Guess.”

The man’s eyes sharpened.

“I think it’s better if I make you spit out the answer!”

All of sudden, he charged towards his left.

Nobody knew his brother’s bloodline better than he did. Even if Vlad tried to make it sounds as if his voice was coming from all around, he could still find him through the fluctuations of mana.

Just now, he felt a small fluctuation of mana from his left. It was very small, almost unnoticeable, but for him, it was enough to determine Vlad’s location.

Filling his sword with mana, he attacked the seemingly empty space without hesitating.

At that instant, he felt a hurried fluctuation of mana from the empty space.

‘Gotcha!’ He exclaimed in his mind.

But all of sudden, he was hit by a premonition of death.

‘Something is amiss!’

He finally realized that something was wrong, but it was too late.

His sword was swung down, cutting nothing but empty space. At the same time, Vlad’s sword appeared behind him, piercing his heart unhurriedly.

The man coughed a mouthful of blood and collapsed on his knees.

“A trap, huh.”

“You fell for it more easily than I thought,” Vlad replied indifferently and pulled his sword out. “Rest in peace.”

Then, he extracted his blood seed as the man’s consciousness was plunged into darkness.

Once he was done, Vlad’s eyes fell on Crow who was still battling Adora.

Then, his figure blended with the darkness.
