Adora and Vlad put their thoughts into action immediately.

Firstly, they needed to find the place where Crow was being treated.

Adora knew about most of Crow’s hideouts, so Vlad and she checked them one by one until they found one that was being heavily guarded by Crow’s subordinates.

It was the tavern that Vlad and Adora had visited earlier.

Vlad and Adora could feel the anxious and uncertain mood of the men guarding the place, plus Vlad could also smell Crow’s blood coming from inside the building.

He was certain that Crow was here.

Vlad and Adora looked at each other and could see the excitement in their eyes.

It seemed that they could kill Crow tonight after all.

But they decided to act cautiously. Firstly, they needed to check the situation inside.

Vlad closed his eyes and focused on his sense of hearing and smell.

Dozens of different smells and sounds entered his senses. From the moldy smell coming from the stagnant water in a nearby puddle to the sound of rats gnawing on food.

Vlad consciously tried to filter the sounds and smells, focusing only on the ones coming from the tavern.

Soon, the situation in the tavern started to become clear to him.

The sounds of hurried footsteps of the people treating Crow, the nervous chatter of Crow’s subordinates, and the rusty smell of Crow’s blood.

But at that moment, Vlad’s nose caught a scent that made him frown.

“… We have a problem.” He told Adora with a solemn expression. “One of the young man’s bodyguards is in the tavern.”

Adora’s expression darkened.

“Fuck.” She cursed.

Vlad wrinkled his brows and contemplated the situation.

It was unexpected. He did not think that the young man would leave one of his bodyguards to monitor Crow’s condition.

That decreased their chances of successfully assassinating Crow by a lot.

“Is there nothing we can do?” Adora asked with a reluctant expression.

Vlad did not reply and just closed his eyes again, focusing his senses on the tavern again.

But this time, he tried something new.

He had been in the tavern a few hours ago, so he vaguely remembered its layout. Based on that, he used the information he got through his smell and hearing to determine the exact situation inside the tavern.

It was a bit hard at the start, but after a bit over five minutes, the image of the tavern became clearer and clearer in his mind.

Just at that moment–

[You have acquired a new skill.]

'Huh?'

An unexpected message appeared in Vlad’s mind.

[Spatial Awareness]

[Allows the user to use his senses to get a clear image of the surroundings.]

Vlad was startled.

‘A new skill…? What a pleasant surprise.’

He became excited. Any new skill was welcome.

Soon, the effects of the new skill made him sigh in admiration.

As soon as he acquired the new skill, the slightly vague image of the tavern became extremely clear, and it became much easier to pinpoint the origin of the smells and sounds.

At the same time, he became able to perceive his surroundings in a much more detailed way. Even with his eyes closed, Vlad knew clearly everything around him.

‘What a great skill!’

Although it did not increase his combat power directly, his usefulness was so great that it was not inferior to any of his other skills.

“What happened?” Adora asked after noticing the slight change in Vlad’s expression.

Vlad did not reply immediately. Instead, he used his new skill to explore the interior of the tavern. A few seconds later, his lips curved up slightly.

“The situation is not as bad as we thought.”

“Really?” Adora's expression brightened.

“Yes. Although one of the young man’s bodyguards is in the tavern, he is resting in a room on the other side of Crow’s location. So if we move stealthily and managed to reach Crow’s location without raising a commotion, we should be able to kill him.”

Adora’s eyes became bright, and killing intent started to ooze out of her.

“That is good,”

“We need to be careful, though. If we are seen before reaching Crow, we will be in danger.”

Adora nodded.

Next, the two of them started to discuss the plan.

It was mainly Vlad offering suggestions and asking Adora if she could do some things. Eventually, the two of them managed to formulate a suitable plan.

With the plan done, they only needed to wait.

Timed passed slowly. Eventually, it was almost dawn.

At this point, the two men guarding the entrance of the tavern had become slightly sleepy, and their wariness had reduced considerably.

Just then, one of the bodyguards felt the need to go to the bathroom.

He opened the door of the tavern to go in when suddenly, a gust of wind reached them.

The gust of wind was relatively strong, quickly snuffing off the torches lighting up the surroundings.

“Fuck.” The two guards cursed. They hurriedly proceeded to light up the torches again in a panic, but the strong wind continued for several seconds, making it impossible to light up the torches again.

They only managed to light up the torches around one minute later.

However, they did not notice that two figures had sneaked in while they were distracted.

Both Vlad and Adora were very good at stealth, and the two guards were just at the bloodline awakening realm, so they were unable to detect them.

However, sneaking in was only the start.

Once inside, Vlad and Adora needed to be careful to not be discovered.

Fortunately, the tavern was mostly dark, and only a few torches and candles offered a dim light.

Even so, it was not easy. The tavern was filled with Crow’s men, forcing Vlad and Adora to stop advancing constantly as they waited for opportunities to continue advancing.

Eventually, almost half an hour after they sneaked in, they arrived in front of the room where Crow was being treated on the second floor of the tavern.

The door of the room was being guarded by two men, and Vlad could feel four more people inside. One of them should be Crow, another should be the doctor treating his injuries, and the last two should be Crow’s men.

Vlad and Adora looked at each other and saw the same intention in each other’s eyes.

Kill.

Both of them moved at the same time. Vlad went for the man on the left of the door and Adora for the one on the right.

Silently, they unsheathed their weapons, and–

*Slice!*

They slit the two men’s throats while using their other hands to cover their mouths.
