As Kajima kept the attention of the kengiri, Shizu was able to stop the bleeding from Azi's arms but was concerned as he was not waking up after having him inhale the fragrance of some smelling salts.

Shaking Azi, Shizu called out to Azi.
Shizu: "Please wake up, Wakeup, WAKE UP!"

Tears in her eyes began to form, but before sadness could overtake her emotions. A familiar voice called out.

Yashimu: "ARCHERS AIM FOR THE LEGS, SPEARMEN AIM FOR ITS LOWER BODY ON MY MARK. APOTHECARY AND THAUMATURGE STABLIZE THE WOUNDED."

The other 5 parties of the investigation had made it in time and the archers began to fire their volley of arrows at the soft legs of the kengiri. The spearmen surrounded the kengiri from behind while Kajima continued to hold its attention from its front.

Yashimu: "READY!!! CHARGE!!!!"

The spearman then rushed forward and jabbed their spears into the gaps of the kengiri's carapace. 7 spear heads struck out as the spearman began to repeatedly stab and jab the kengiri as its maw screamed out its death cry.

The apothecary got to work and examined Azi's wounded body. She deduced that he had internal damage and poured a medicinal potion down a tube that was shoved down Azi's throat which should act as a pain killer. The thaumaturge began a ritual with her staff as motes of green light began to form around Azi's chest. The motes were absorbed by Azi's body and had the purpose of boosting his body's ability to heal itself. To the surprise of the apothecary, thaumaturge, and Shizu, Azi's bruised and shoulder wound began to heal. The blood from Azi's mouth had stopped dripping out and with enabled Azi to be able to take a breath. The blood coming from his mouth made it hard for him to breath, so it was a relief to Azi's unconscious mind to be able to breath clearly, but he was not out of the woods yet.

Shizu: "Will he be, ok?"

Apothecary: "I do not know. His internal and external wound are healing but he hasn't regained consciousness. What do you sense?" *Turning to the thaumaturge*

Thaumaturge: "I do not sense a spirit within his body, it is as if we are looking at a living corpse which befuddles me since when a spirit leaves a body any vitality should leave the body as well, but in this case his body still retains its vital energy."

Shizu: "IS HE DEAD OR ALIVE?!"

Thaumaturge: "His body is alive, but I sense his mind is gone. I do not think he will wake up. It's very unlikely that he will."

After hearing these words, Shizu hugged Azi's head into her chest and brought his body close as small tears began to form in her eyes.

Shizu: "Please come back, please don't die. I finally found someone who was worthy. You can't die yet, not until I say you can. Please wake up."

Tears ran down Shizu's face while the Apothecary and Thaumaturge looked on with sadness and guilt in their hearts as they were unable to successfully heal Azi. Yashimu looked on from a distance as a bit of regret had appeared on his face. In his mind he thought, *I should have informed everyone about the details concerning the investigation. If I had told Shizu that the parties might encounter a power monster or animal, she could have made proper preparations or would have been more cautious. Now due to my decisions, a young boy's life was needlessly lost.*

Yashimu: "Dammit All" *He said in a soft tone*

Kajima, overhearing Yashimu's curse, looked over to what he was looking at as he was walking away from the now dead corpse of the kengiri. To his shock he saw little Shizu crying over Azi's unconscious body and rushed over to find out what was happening. After hearing the Apothecary and Thaumaturge explanation that Azi would not likely wake up again, Kajima's mind was filled with rage.

Kajima: "DAMMIT, NOT AGAIN. I HAVE FAILED AGAIN. AHHHHHHHHH."

Yashimu POV

Hearing Kajima's rage fill scream, Yashimu motioned the remaining soldier to quickly disassemble the kengiri corpse. He then sent a team to report a short-written update to Ozen back in the village. The report stated the following:

*
Power monster discovered - Kengiri
Location - Western Forest Base of Mountain Clearing
Situation - All Clear (Currently)
Message - Gathering of prey inprogress. Return: 1 Day
Wounded - 0
Lost - 1 (Note: Your recent seed has died)
*

After checking over his short-written report, Yashimu handed it to a party of 3 men as they then saluted and began running through the forest to make way to the village.

Yashimu then commanded his remaining troops to begin setting up camp but was interrupted by Kajima who was able to recompose himself as he told Yashimu that the camp he and Azi set up was nearby and had enough room for everyone. Nodding to Kajima, Yashimu asked him to lead the way. Shizu, noticing a familiar face come to her side she looked to the familar face. Her eyes still had tear falling down her face, but none the less looked into Yashimu's eyes.

Yashimu: "Let's bring him with us, we should give him a proper burial." *As he motioned to pick up Azi's body*

Shizu: "HE IS NOT DEAD" *She screamed as she slapped Yashimu's hand away*

Shizu then stood up as she picked up Azi's body and began following Kajima back to the camp that was prepared by the now believed to be dead Azi in her arms. Shizu held Azi in a princess carry and held him close. When she did so, she noticed that his body was warm and prayed to the furuhitokami in her mind in the hope that Azi would come back.

When everyone arrived at the camp site, Yashimu aided the troops in setting up more tents and starting more campfires. Shizu on the other hand brought Azi into her tent to lay him down on a small mat. She covered him in the fur blankets they had in their camping equipment and looked on at his face with his closed eyes. Azi looked as if he was sleeping but this was different from the prior times, he was unconscious or asleep. This time Azi made no noise and didn't even twitch which made it look as if he were just a corpse. Feeling that she was about to cry again, she gritted her teeth as she held back her tears the best she could. She then muttered what Azi had said before.

Shizu: "Don't tempt me you said. I suppose you would have indulged yourself if I did tempt you, but I guess I won't be able to find out now."

As Shizu's eye lids began to falter, she soon slipped into sleep next to the unconscious Azi. In her own unconscious state of sleep, she began to hug Azi's body as the warmth coming for his body was more comforting than a fur blanket in winter.

Shizu: "Please wake up" *She said in a soft tone.
