Feeling the strike of the kengiri pass through his body, Azi could feel that his insides were churned up and felt a stinging pain in his arms as they began to bleed his red blood. A sudden impact was felt on the backside of his head and soon darkness overcame his vision. In this moment, memories of his hellish experience after his car accident filled his mind as the darkness had surrounded him again. He braced for the pain and soon enough it came in waves.

"AHHHHHHH"
"AHHHHHHH"
"AHHHHHHH"
"AHHHHHHH"

Again, Azi felt pain and cursed in his mind about the situation he was in. Azi then remembered how he could dull the pain, so he tried to control his senses through the pain. While this only caused more pain, he felt like that if he focused he could turn off his senses. Azi was again unclear how much time passed from Azi's point of view but eventually Azi was successful in turning off his senses which allowed him some relief. With now being able to have a reprieve, Azi began speaking to both the void and himself.

"Is Shizu ok? what about Kajima?.........Maybe I was left for dead since I failed to take the hit."

"Shizu might have left me to die considering how much I teased Shizu maybe she hates me. I made a mistake, I took my jokes too far. Why do I always keep making mistakes."

"I asked Kajima too many questions, maybe he was offended when I questioned the emperor so now, he'll leave me to die so that I won't profane his god"

After speaking his mind, he paused and then *Sighed*.

He then began trying to recall his fractured memories for some form of comfort. A square image appeared in front of him. It was a picture of his much younger self as he wore a long robe, strange square hat, and a roll of paper in his hand. His younger self had people standing around him as they all faced forward with smiling faces.

"This must be my.... graduation from school. I think that's my certification in my hand. What was it in? I think it was ..... Engineering? No, it was .... ah  damn I can't remember."

Azi smiled as he felt a nostalgic feeling rise up in his heart and focused his mind on another memory. This time he was able to relive the memory as he could feel that he was moving and sweating. His arms were swinging at his sides, and he was breathing heavily, Azi wondered what he was doing and realized that he was running. It was apparent by his attire of short pants and a light blue gym shirt. The feeling of the heat on his skin was nice and he remembered that running was how he got his usual exercise. He enjoyed it and usually ran around the city and then the beach to be able to see the sights. Sometimes he would challenge himself and run to the next city nearby and back. In the past, he was told by his family and friends that he could not do it but after his first, second, and third successful attempts. All doubt from his family and friends was gone. With the thought of friends on his mind he then felt a bit a sadness overcome him.

"Friends?... I don't think I truly had any friends."

*Sighing* Azi then realized that he was back in that black space. He then hugged his knees to his chest and began to tear up.

"I want to go on an adventure, I want to wake up."

His words resounded in the surrounding space as it bounced the sound around in an echo that repeated. As if responding to his words the space began to collapse as the black surroundings started to be riddles with glowing blue cracks that were continuing to spread. Soon a crashing and cracking sounds rang out which then cause Azi to jolt awake.

Azi's vision was filled with the sigh of an unfamiliar ceiling. He turned his head and felt a soft sensation envelope his face. His vision was filled with red and as he was about to panic, a pair of arms pulled him in closer as the soft sensation become more pronounce.

Azi: "mmmmmh, mhhhhhh, mhhh"

Azi realized that Shizu was sleeping next to him as she used him as a body pillow, he attempted to speak out to get her to wake up, but no audible words escaped from Azi's mouth nor Shizu's chest. This instead caused Shizu to feel a slight tingling sensation from her chest, but she paid it no mind as she more tightly hugged, what she believed to be a pillow, closer to her chest.

Azi's vision was now completely filled with red as the fabric on Shizu's chest was pressing into his face. What was more concerning was that Shizu had hugged him so tightly that he could not breath properly, this caused him to start flailing around which finally got Shizu's attention. By the time she noticed Azi's flailing arms started to go limp as he began passing out from a lack of oxygen as his vision turned from red to white.

Shizu: *She screamed out in joy* "YOUR ALIVE!!"

Azi: *Managing with the last of his breath* "Can't..... Br.ea....th."

Shizu, noticing that Azi was starting to get blue in the face and his eyes rolling into the back of his head, quickly released ber grib on him which cause Azi to deeply inhale air as his vision started to return from white. After catching his breath, he turned his head to the right and saw Shizu sitting down overlooking him like a mother bird. Azi could see that her eyes were red and that there were some small tears in her eyes.

Azi, worried about Shizu, made an offer to comfort her.

Azi: "If you are feeling sad you can hug me again if it helps?"

Shizu pouted at Azi's nonchalant attitude after the recent turn of events, but instead of giving a retort she just moved to hug Azi as if he was a pillow and began to slightly tear up as she fell into a light sleep. Azi was confused by Shizu's actions as he was expecting her to initiate the usually routine of bickering that he had gotten used to during the very short time they knew each other. The idea that Shizu was worried about him caused a warm feeling to spread in his heart, but the warmth was different. This warmth was not as gentle as from a family member, it was not as comforting as the warmth of the sun on his skin, but it instead felt more joyful and full of glee. This new warmth made Azi feel happy and it calmed his mind as he truly believed that he may have made his first true friend. Azi gave Shizu a hug in response and nestled close to her body and felt the warmth coming from heart. He could also hear her heartbeat with his own as they beat in a rhythmic synchronism.
