Jake woke up the next morning, feeling well-rested. He felt the, now familiar, weight of his beautiful partner lying on his chest. As the scenes of last night flashed in his mind, he grew hard. He groaned quietly.

‘You should really get ready for the mission,’ he scolded himself, willing his erection to go down.

“Good, you both are ready,” Liam said, as Jake and Zoe emerged from their room. “Have your breakfast. Everything is ready for your mission.”

After a short breakfast of poached eggs, toast, and orange juice, Jake and Zoe found themselves in the Time Chamber.

Liam came in behind them with a chip implant gun. Both the young Knights looked at him questioningly.

“This, right here, is a universal translator,” Liam answered their unasked question.

“A universal translator?” Jake asked in disbelief.

“Yes!” Liam said. “I’ll plant this at the top of your spine, right where it meets the neck and the chip will ensure that you’ll be able to listen or speak any language you hear.”

The old man raised in hand when he saw Zoe open her mouth to no doubt ask him how it worked. “I don’t know how it works, just that it does.” Her mouth clicked shut.

“Really?” Jake asked, his face showing blatant disbelief.

“You are about to travel ninety years in the past, and you’re surprised about a translator?” Zoe teased in a sly voice.

Jake mock glared at her. She smiled innocently in response.

Liam gestured for Jake to turn around and get ready for the implant.

“This will sting a little”, he warned and placed the barrel at the base of his neck.

“Fuck!” Jake yelped as he felt the ice-cold chip shoot into his neck. Zoe giggled at his reaction.

“Now, another thing!” Liam said. “You can’t exactly use cash at that time, so we’ll go with something that was equally expensive and had a high availability in Russia during World War I. Gold.” and he pulled out a pouch filled with gold coins.

Jake and Zoe exchanged looks.

“Um, gold?” Zoe asked.

“Yes, yes,” Liam said enthusiastically. “During time travel missions, unmarked gold coins are the best currency to use. They are available at every time period and are hard to trace. Well, I suppose you can use silver or other precious metal but I find gold as the most suitable.”

Jake and Zoe nodded their understanding of the use of gold and started to get ready for the mission.

Soon both of them changed out of their modern clothes into the dresses of Russian servants.

Jake looked at Zoe. ‘Jesus, is there anything she does not look gorgeous in?’ He thought to himself. She was wearing a tight black jumpsuit which was covered with a white-colored dress with a broad shoulder strap that met at the top of her breasts and continued downwards, over the curve of her bountiful breasts to her waist. From the waist, it spread out as a bulky skirt till the bottom of her knees followed by well-fitted black boots. She wore her hair

He looked at himself. He too looked sharp, dressed in a white shirt, black slacks, and a black long coat. His look was completed with a pair of black leather shoes.

He was surprised to find out that this was the dress of the Palace servants. He didn’t even imagine that the servants were so well dressed.

“Let’s get started,” Jake said, cracking his hands.

Jake and Zoe stood in the Time capsule, looking at the big screen. Liam was fiddling with the computer. The younger Knights watched as the numbers changed before finally settling on the date and location they had chosen. They watched as he set the time and started it.

“Alright, both of you!” Liam started. “Remember the plan, try to stick to it. And even if you have to deviate, don’t miss the exit window in any case. You’ve trained for this moment.” Liam motivated them.

Jake and Zoe nodded.

Liam’s face suddenly turned grim.

“You’ve seen what has happened outside, right?” Liam asked. Both the Knights nodded. “Then just remember that no matter what, you can’t fail.”

“We won’t,” Jake assured the old man with grim determination. Zoe nodded in agreement.

“All the best then,” Liam wished them as the timer went through its final seconds.
