After I was done taking a look at my status I took a good look around and, as expected, there were trees in every direction.

Standing here any longer was bound to cause trouble.

"Which means I have to walk in a random direction and hope for the best. Just great."

(Quit whining and start walking.) Pyra cut my complaining short.

Looking up at the sky, I couldn't tell if the sun was rising or falling, so I just went in the direction I assumed to be north. To think I would already be missing my compass so much...

I very quickly noticed that my clothes, which were made of some kind of fabric, were incredibly itchy like someone had lined it with itching powder. Beyond that they looked as if they came straight out of a fantasy anime. That mixed with the mention of magic in my status was more than enough evidence I was in some sort of fantasy land.

Along the way I inspected myself more closely. I seemed to have kept my body which was to be expected, but I was more interested in my clothes. I had a small pouch, as well as a slightly larger satchel tied to a belt that didn't really feel necessary, since my brown trousers fit perfectly fine.

That's when I realized I had no weapon of any kind on me, or anything for that matter besides my clothes as my satchel was also empty.

I wasn't too worried since my Martial Arts Mastery (D) made me more proficient at unarmed combat. Well that and my four years of experience.

About thirty minutes into my little excursion I encountered the first living thing I had seen all day.

Unfortunately it was none other than a little green midget, with very disgusting features, wielding a crude wooden spear. That's right it was a goblin. Talk about clichè.

The goblin was injured somehow, or I assumed so since it was holding it's chest in one of its sickly hand.

The goblin was in the middle of a clearing, with it's back exposed to me, so after thinking for a good four seconds I decided to attack it.

I rushed forward, with no real plan, jumping out from the bushes. I activated my Martial Arts Mastery (D) and closed the distance relatively quickly.

Upon reaching three feet distance from it, it finally noticed me. It was still too late.

I pulled my fist back without slowing my charge, even as the goblin raised it's spear, and I soon stood right in front of its ugly mug.

Letting my fist fly the goblin released a loud shriek as it flew back a few feet straight into a tree. I remember doing that once. Not fun.

Unfortunately I either underestimated the goblins strength or overestimated my own, since the goblin got back up, spiting one of its crooked yellow teeth out of its mouth and glaring at me.

And that's when I heard it. Rustling coming from all directions. Very soon goblin after goblin emerged from the bushes.

Eight. Eight goblins, on all sides. Excluding the one I had already hit.

I forgot goblins tend to travel in packs. A slight oversight on my part.

Taking a quick look around I observed the new arrivals. All of them were relatively the same with slight variations in their clothes and facial features on, but the most notable change was their weapons.

Two of them had spears, excluding the one I hit earlier, another two had tiny bows, arrows included, and the rest had clubs.

'Pyra is there a way to see how strong these goblins are?'

(...you can use observe, but I would recommend leaving. Now.)

Using "observe" let me see a summarized version of the goblins status's. The observe function was a nice surprise, since I currently had no way to guage my opponents' strength and almost all other functions were locked.

[Goblin: Level 3]

[HP: 35%]

[Strength: 22

[Constitution: 19]

[Agility: 27]

That was the status of the goblin I hit earlier, and the other goblins had similar stats, excluding HP.

'Why the hell are goblins so strong?'

I had to run. Somehow, I had to escape. Yet, for some reason I felt I should stay. I felt I would lose something if I decided to run. Perhaps this was Intuition (A)?

'Pyra don't hate me too much.' I said in my mind and took a low stance. I would need to put my agility to it's full use, a single hit would spell my demise.

(Are you out of your God-damned mind!? You'll die!)

"Only if I get killed."

With that I put my weight on my dominant foot and dashed towards the closest goblin, it was one with a spear.

My plan was simple, take out the ones with the spears, then take them to use against the archers, then clean up the rest of the trash.

Seeing me draw near the goblin thrust his spear towards my chest, to which I bent sideways slightly leaving less than a centimeter distance from it and my ribs.

This was perfect.

I grabbed the spear, which was now under my armpit thanks to my evasive maneuver, and pulled on it. Despite their strength goblins are quite light.

This pulled the goblin off the ground and, with a turn, sent him flying into the spear of one of his comrades.

I figured such a sight would at least make me feel sick, but I didn't feel anything. I chalked it up to adrenaline.

 'One dead, seven left.'

With my new weapon I charged towards the goblin who had inadvertently killed it's friend. I was much slower due to the fact I was carrying a weapon now, but I still was able to reach the goblin before it pried the dead goblin off of its weapon.

I thrust my new spear into its head, killing it instantly, and creating a very brutal scene.

After I pulled my spear out, the slight sound of a whistle reached my ears, and I felt a tingling in the back of my thigh followed by the odd sensation of my flesh being ripped and my bone being crushed.

Now on the ground I saw an arrowhead peeking out of my upper thigh, which most definitely shouldn't have been there.

(Damian!)

It hurt. Like someone had stabbed my thigh with a searing blade, and twisted it then proceeded to smear the wound with salt. But if I wanted to live I had to ignore it, and thanks to the inhumane amount of adrenaline coursing through my veins, I was able to do just that.

Rolling off of my stomach and onto my back, breaking the arrow in my leg during the process, I met a goblin who was trying to approach me. The pain made my head a bit fuzzy, and my vision darken a bit, but I was still able to keep some form of rationality.

I grabbed my spear and threw it at the goblin, but due to the awkward angle, the agonizing pain from my leg, and shoddy craftsmanship, the spear went slightly off course, and ended up piercing the goblins stomach and not it's heart. It definitely wasn't a lack of skill.

Immediately after I noticed two arrows were flying my way. I narrowly dodged in time by rolling out of the way, further lessening my chances of standing properly again during this fight.

I stopped rolling when my back reached a tree. Quickly propping myself up into a seated position I tried using a stick I found nearby to help myself up.

During my efforts I noticed a new stick protruding from my stomach. Looking up I saw the goblin who I had hit earlier looking at me with eyes filled with vengeance.

I didn't even have time to register the pain, or the new taste of iron in my mouth, before he twisted his spear before pulling it out.

Whether intentional or not when he pulled the spear out I too was caught in the momentum and sent hurdling back towards the center of the little goblin circle.

I couldn't tell what was worse, the feeling of my blood rushing out of my body, and the coldness that followed, the torturous pain of the newfound hole in my gut, or the embarrassment of losing to a couple of goblins.

It was odd laying in a pool of my own blood, that only took a second to form. I imagined it would take less time to make a river of the tears flowing from my face. Anyone would cry given my situation, I just wanted to build a Harem in peace...

I tried to push myself up, and had marginal success, before looking up to asses my surroundings and enemies.

The second I looked up, I saw yet another spear heading straight for my face. Using what was left of my strength I pushed myself out of the way, rolling a little ways before stopping.

I didn't even notice I couldn't see out of one of my eyes anymore.

I knew I was about to die, and I would have liked to remain awake for it, even though it was scary, but my eyelids grew too heavy for me to keep them open anymore. The last thing I would see was a club coming straight towards my face.

Come to think of it, that was the only time a club came near my body.
