“Fuuh~” She said as she stretched her body, and when she had finished stretching herself, she began looking around the park in the different dimension that she was in. “Now where is that Red Hat?” She wondered as she looked around for the character in question.
“Ou! I see one!” She said as she saw one random red hat wearing duelist spawn on her Free Duel zone, and walked towards them.
Just as she was a few meters from the Red Hat, they turned towards her, and activated their duel disk. She too, raised her left arm and activated her duel disk, readying herself to have a match against the duelist in red.
““DUEL!!””
Red Hat: 4000LP
Yuuna: 4000LP
Red Hat started first, starting with activating a Field Spell, The Hidden City, changing their surrounding into an underground kingdon, with a large castle in the background. And it was at that moment that she knew what deck she was facing, and shivered just a bit. “Guru huh.” She said. “But what variant of Guru is it?”
Using the activation effect of the Field Spell, Red Hat added none other than Guru himself, shuffling it and setting a monster face-down. Of course Red Hat then used the effect of The Hidden City, flipping the face-down monster, revealing a humanoid dragon with purple wings and a claymore, wearing sophisticated clothing.
Subterror Guru - Earth/Dragon/Level 4/Effect: 1600/1800
Red Hat then triggered Guru’s effect, adding to their hand a copy of none other than Subterror Fiendess, and set two cards face-down and ended their turn, and passed to her with three cards in hand.
“My turn, draw!” She said, drawing a card to start her turn. She thought of ways on how she could out what could possibly be a 3400 defence Guru, a negate in the form of Fiendess, and whatever the other set card was.
It was too bad that she wasn’t using her Dragonmaid deck, she could have simply summoned Sheou and beat Guru with pure big numbers. But instead she wanted to test her actual meta deck.
She checked the cards in her hand, and realised that she already had an out immediately, and grinned. It’s a bit crusty, and it would also waste her normal summon since she didn’t find the best card in the deck to use her normal summon on.
“I’ll normal summon Reeshaddoll Wendi.” She said as she placed the monster card on her duel disk’s sword projection, and a blonde girl wearing a tribal robe and holding a golden staff appeared on her field, her face blank and emotionless.
Reeshaddoll Wendi - Wind/Psychic/Level 3/Effect: 1500/1000
Seeing no response from her opponent, no Solemn or anything of the sort, she continued her turn uninterrupted. “I’ll activate the quick-play spell, Super Polymerization!” She declared, the picture of the quick-play spell appearing on her field and shining.
She raised her hand and explained the card’s effect. “WIth this card, I can discard one card to Fusion Summon one Fusion monster from my Extra Deck using monsters from either field as Fusion Materials! And neither player can activate cards or effect in response to this card’s activation!”
She then discards a card as the quick-play spell’s cost of activation. “I’ll discard Naelshaddoll Ariel, and fuse your Subterror Guru and my Reeshaddoll Wendi!” Lightning shot out from the card depicting the SS4 quick-play spell, and struck both of the designated monsters, fusing them to create one singular monster.
“Fusion Summon!” She said, waving her hand down, and finishing the Fusion Summon. “Appear! El Shaddoll Shekhinaga!” The earth monster then appeared on her field, the giant monster appearance being the archetype’s signature monster, El Shaddoll Construct being tied with Apoqliphort Towers with dark purple strings.
El Shaddoll Shekhinaga - Earth/Machine/Fusion/Level 10/EffectL 2600/3000
“Now the effect of Reeshaddoll Wendi activates!” She said, activating the effect of the Shaddoll monster she used as a fusion material. “If Winda is sent to the graveyard with a card effect, I can special summon one ‘Shaddoll’ monster from my deck in face-up or face-down defence position except a copy of Reeshaddoll Wendi!”
She then showed the card that she would special summon. “I’ll special summon Shaddoll Beast in face-down defence position!” The figure of the dark monster appeared briefly, before shimmering and turning into a face-down monster card on her side of the field.
“Battle!” I’ll attack you directly with Shekhinaga!” The Earth Fusion Monster moved one of its giant legs, raising it as high as possible, and struck at the duelist in red, intending to deal over half of the opponent's Life Points as damage.
And in response, her opponent activated one of the trap cards in their possession, flipping one of them face-up and revealing Magic Cylinder, making a giant cylinder appear and absorb her monster’s attack, and another copy of the cylinder appear beside her and make the attack hit her.
“Kuh!” She clicked her tongue as she was hit by her own attack, leaving her with only 1400 Life Points.
Yuuna: 1400LP
“A battle trap huh, didn’t expect you to run something like that in a control deck like Guru.” She mumbled as she moved to her second main phase. “I’ll set two cards face-down, and end my turn.”
She said, finishing her turn with two monsters in her field, and two face-down cards in her spell and trap zone, and one card in hand and passed to her opponent, awaiting to see what they would do.
Her opponent started their turn, drawing a card in their draw phase and making them have four cards in hand to start their turn with. Red Hat then started their turn, using their normal summon to summon Subterror FIendess, making the light green skinned horned spellcaster appear on their side of the field.
Subterror Fiendess - Earth/Spellcaster/Level 1/Effect: 800/500
Red Hat then triggered Fiendess’ second effect, letting them target one face-up monster that they control and change it to face-down defence position to special summon one Subterror monster from their graveyard in face-up or face-down defence position.
The card that they target was of course, Fiendess herself, intending to re-summon Guru in face-down defence position and then activating the effect of The Hidden City to flip Guru face up and activate its effect to add one Subterror card to their hand.
Which would be quite troublesome, but she has an out to that. “I’ll chain the trap, Dogmatika Punishment!” She said flipping one of her own set trap cards, making it shine as she activated it.
“This card lets me target one face-up monster you control and send one monster with an equal or higher attack from my Extra Deck and if I do, destroy the monster!” She explained. “But until the end of my next turn after this card’s activation, I cannot special summon monsters from the Extra Deck.”
Finished with the explanation of the trap card’s effect and downside, she pointed towards the still face-up Fiendess whose effect had just been triggered. “I’ll target Subterror Fiendess, and send Titamiklad the Ash Dragon from my Extra Deck to the graveyard.”
She sent the Fusion Monster from the Extra Deck to the graveyard, and the chain resolves destroying the one and only Subterror monster and sending it from the field to the graveyard, and making it miss its effect.
Her red hat wearing opponent then set another card face down, and ended their turn. And then her monster’s effect triggers. “Titaniklad’s effect!” She declared. “If this card is in the graveyard because it was sent there this turn, I can add to my hand or special summon one ‘Fallen or Albaz’ or one ‘Dogmatika’ monster from my deck.”
She then showed the one target that she would special summon using the monster’s effect. “I’ll special summon Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous from my deck in defence position!” She added the card from her deck and special summoned the monster in defence position.
The monster took the form of a young girl, wearing a white suit of armor and a crown as a headpiece on her golden blonde hair , decorated with white robe-like cloths around the armor. She held a warhammer in her hand, ready to defend against attacks.
Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous - Light/Spellcaster/Level 4/Effect: 1500/1500
“Now Ecclesia’s effect! When she’s normal or special summoned, I can add one ‘Dogmatika’ card from my deck to my hand except another copy of Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous!” She explained the card’s effect as she showed the card she would add to her opponent.
“I’ll add Dogmatika Maximus from my deck to my hand!” She said, adding the monster card from her deck to the hand. “The turn I activated this effect I can’t special summon monster from the Extra Deck, but since this was during the end phase it doesn’t really matter.”
And with that the turn ended, and the turn was then passed to her. “Now, my turn!” She said, readying herself to end the game here and now. “I’ll draw!” She drew a card in her draw phase, and though she still can’t special summon from the Extra Deck since she was still under the effect of Punishment, she already has lethal.
The only problem would be the set cards, and though she has a way of removing them with the card that she had just added to her hand, she could only remove one of those two. She hopes that she can hit whatever trap that they set.
“Alright, I’ll start by flipping up Shaddoll Beast!” She said, flip summoning the set monster, revealing it to be a blue and white beast with golden pieces of armour covering its body, its limbs being tied by purple strings of energy.
Shaddoll Beast - Dark/Spellcaster/Level 5/Effect: 2200/1700
“I’ll activate the flip effect of Shaddoll beast!” She declared, activating the monster’s flip effect. “It allows me to draw two cards and then discard one card.” She said as she activated the monster’s effect.
But then her opponent activated one of their face-down set cards, flipping it up and revealed that it was a continuous trap, that being none other than There Can Be Only One. The continuous trap shone, as she clicked her tongue.
“So it was There Can Be Only One huh. Fine, I’ll send Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous to the grave so that I can control only one Spellcaster in my field.” She said as she sent the Dogmatika monster from her field to the grave, leaving Shaddoll Beast as the only spellcaster on her field.
“I’ll draw two cards.” She said, resolving the chain and drawing two cards from Shaddoll Beast’s effect. She checked the cards in her hand and decided on the card to discard, a grin on her face as she found out a way to out the floodgate.
“I’ll discard Shaddoll Squamata, and activate its effects!” She then triggered the effect of Squamata as it was sent to the grave. “If this card is sent to the graveyard, I can send one ‘Shaddoll’ card from my deck to the graveyard except Shaddoll Squamata.”
She explained the card’s effect, and then picked a card from her deck to mill. “I’ll send Shaddoll Dragon from my deck to the graveyard, and its effect also activates!” She said as the monster’s effect also activates.
“If this card is sent to the graveyard to the graveyard by a card effect, I can target one spell or trap on the field, and destroy it!” She said as she then pointed towards the floodgate. “I’ll destroy you There Can Be Only One!”
Purple strings of energy then appeared from the sky, and pulled out from a dark hole the head of Shaddoll Dragon. Said dragon head then shot out a beam from its maw, destroying the continuous trap that was on her opponent's field.
What an incredible turn of events! To think that she would top deck Shaddoll Squamata with Beast’s draw effect, with this she can deal lethal. “I’ll activate the effect of Dogmatika Maximus in my hand!” She said, showing the monster in her hand.
“I’ll banish Tinaniklad the Ash Dragon from my graveyard, and special summon Dogmatika Maximus in defence position!” The monster then appeared in the field, wearing a regal white robe with golden decorations, his head covered by a white helmet with golden lines.
Dogmatika Maximus - Light/Spellcaster/Level 8/Effect: 1500/3000
“Now Dogmatika Maximus’ effect! I’ll send two monsters with different names from my Extra Deck to the graveyard, and you do also do the same. And for the rest of the turn, I cannot special summon from the Extra Deck.” She explained the monster’s effect as she took two cards from her Extra Deck to send to the graveyard.
“I’ll send El Shaddoll Apkallone, and Elder Entity N'tss from my Extra Deck to the graveyard.” She said as she sent the two monsters to the graveyard, and saw her opponent sending Subterror Behemoth Fiendess and…. Shaddoll Construct?!
Ah she hasn’t pulled that card yet! It wasn’t exactly useful in her build of Invoked Shaddoll Dogmatika, but it was still nice to at least have a card like that and know that she has it. It’ll be nice if her opponent dropped the card after she beat him.
Ah, her kleptomania was showing again, focus back on the duel Yuuna! Focus! “I’ll activate the effect of Shaddoll Apkallone and Elder Entity N’tss!” She declared activating the two Fusion Monster’s effects as they were sent to the grave.
“If N’tss is sent to the graveyard, I can target one card on the field and destroy it!” She said as she pointed towards the remaining face-down card in Red Hat’s field. The duelist clad in red could do nothing as it was destroyed, revealing that it was Storming Mirror Force.
“Ah, good thing I popped that one.” She said as she let out a breath as she wiped a bead of sweat from her head. “The chain resolves! If Apkallone is sent to the graveyard, it lets me add one ‘Shaddoll’ card from my deck to my hand, then I discard one card.”
She showed the card that she would add with the Fusion Monster’s graveyard effect. “I’ll add the trap, Shaddoll Schism, and discard Effect Veiler.” Discarding the hand trap
And adding the trap to her hand.
“Battle!” She said, moving on to the battle phase, intending to end the duel here and now after she cleaned her opponent’s turn. “I’ll attack you with my monsters!” The monsters on her field then attacked her opponent, dealthing lethal.
Red Hat: 0LP
Her opponent was then defeated, and disappeared into particles of light, leaving behind a single card in his wake. She approached it, and picked it up. Checking what was the drop that the Red Hat had dropped.
“Ah, it’s Guru.” She said as she looked at the deck that had once made Guru a competitive deck and an incredibly reliable engine. “Although I wanted to get Shaddoll Construct, this is fine too.”
She then placed the card in her inventory of cards. “But still, I’m still not used to the 4000 Life Point format even after all this time.” She muttered to no one as she walked on her Free Duel space.
“That Magic Cylinder already put me in lethal range. I guess that’s why most people in this world actually run battle traps huh.” She said as she continued searching for another opponent.
“But still, meta decks are definitely still strong here too. ISD is a good deck with control tools like Dogmatika Punishment and El Shaddoll Winda, and also El Shaddoll Construct as a good battle removal, but it always has a problem of assembling lethal. In this 4000 Life Points format however...” She trailed off.
“I guess it was a good thing that I wasted what was basically my whole life savings making this deck.” She said as she checked the cards in her deck, looking at the cards in her disposal, those being the single copy of Mechaba and one Invocation that she has.
The cards came from the pack that she got from getting a lot of spellcaster monsters for Sister Claire’s Witchcrafter deck, and for acquiring in her possession a lot of Fusion Monsters, the pack known as Spellcasters Generation, a pack filled with, well, spellcasters and spellcaster Fusion Monsters.
Which includes a tech option that she put in this deck, Quintet Magician. Because nobody expects Quintet Magician in a competent Fusion Deck like her Invoked Shaddoll Dogmatika, because no one in their right mind would play the deck with Magicalized Fusion.
And if anything this deck was her ace in the hole, her actually super competent deck, the deck that she definitely would not use in public because the power of Shaddoll Fusion and Invocation and Aliester, though this deck also has its downsides especially in a Fusion centric format like the one she was in in this dimension.
And that is, ironically, a card that she has to run if she wants more consistency in her deck, that being Magical Meltdown, the three of Field Spell that she plays in her deck.
Now, for some people out there, Magical Meltdown might only be known as another copy of Aleister, it is the tribal Field Spell that searches the monster when activated after all, but what most of them didn’t know was that Magical Meltdown has text.
And in a regular format where she was from, that effect would only benefit the player that plays it, what with its effect being that the activation of cards and effects that would Fusion Summon being unable to be negated, and the opponent cards and effects can’t activate when a monster is Fusion Summoned.
Which could pose quite a problem, since everyone was basically playing insert Fusion Monster name here turbo in this dimension.
But it also led to another problem with her deck, and that being the people’s reliance on destruction by battle. And though she does have an out for battle removal in the form of Apkallone who can’t be destroyed by battle, and Construct who destroys a special summoned monster at the start of the damage step, if someone drops a Chaos Giant on her, it would be easy to out her board.
Which was why she was debating on whether or not should she run Magical Meltdown, because though it is an incredible consistency booster that leads to the best normal summon in her deck in the form of Aleister the Invoker who can easily net her a Fusion Monster, it would also prevent her from preventing her opponent from Fusion Summoning their own monster.
Because that was the biggest choke point in almost every Fusion based decks in the game, the activation of the Fusion Spell, tribal or not, and if she leaves Magical Meltdown in the Field Spell, then that choke point disappears.
If anything she’s only minding this because of the existence of Chaos Ancient Gear Giant, a card that she knows from the forums being used in the XYZ Dimension invasion or something, which meant that most of the decks that she would face if she were to try and stop said invasion, would be Chaos Ancient Gear Giant turbo.
And since Chaos Ancient Gear Giant is a big bungus with 4500 attack and immune to spell and trap effects, and prevents the activation of monster effects during the battle phase, making COnstruct obsolete, the only way to out it is by monster effects.
Which to be fair, SS2 destruction is not uncommon, heck, Sister Claire already has an out in the form of Haine, and Mei can even banish the monster with ABC-Dragon Buster, but if anything the only out that she runs in the deck is probably Punishment into N’tss to pop it.
And if anything she really, really, REALLY wanted to have Augoeides in her pool of Extra Deck Monsters, or anything just as a card that she could easily summon to out the problematic monster.
And sure, Punishment is searchable by Ecclesia, and she also runs three Nadir Servant, but she’s not guaranteed to have access to Punishment every time she duels, especially since her having Construct as her Ace Monster makes her start with a Shaddoll spell or trap and a monster in hand.
Which, on second thought, now that she actually thought about it, she might be more well off having Aleister or the Invoked monsters as her Ace Monster since it would guarantee her to have one card in hand that lists Aleister in hand, or Aleister himself.
Hmm, but if she designates Titaniklad or a Dogmatika monster as her Ace Monster, then she can start with one card that list Dogmatika or Fallen of Albaz in her hand, and though she doesn’t run the latter, the chance of starting with Nadir Servant is also tempting...
But still, this was the first time she actually play tested the complete deck, she did just got the third copy of Aleister after she bought a few more packs using the DP she got from her victory against the three Ra Yellow duelist.
As she saw another duelist in the corner of her eye, she shrugged. “Well, I’ll test it more here and now I guess. If anything I’ll mess with the ratio later.” She said as she continued farming on her Free Duel space, intending to farm DP to let her open more packs.
-
On the second day of school, she was woken up when there were loud bangs reverberating through her door. “Hey! Duel me!”
As she had expected, her peace did not last, and immediately right after she walked out of her room, the indigo haired girl challenged her for a duel. She slowly turned towards her holding a yawn as she blinked half awake eyes at her. “Pardon?” She asked the girl.
“I asked you for a duel!” She said once again, her eyes still glaring at her. “So duel me!” She said, practically begging for a duel against her at this point. “I won’t move from this position until you duel me!” She said, as she glared at her with her green eyes.
She scratched the back of her head, and let out a sigh. She saw that even Mei who was usually a deep sleeper who would only be woken up when she physically riled her up was also awake at this point, scratching her eyes awake.
“Umu…. Well, if you’re asking for a duel, at least do it after I take a bath first....” She said to the girl as she showed the indigo haired girl the crumpled and disheveled shirt that she was wearing for bed.
“And if anything at least lets do it outside, it’ll be a bother if we did it inside here.” She also pointed towards the other dorm rooms, some of which had opened their doors and poked their heads out to check what the commotion was about.
“Oh… I guess you’re right.” The girl said after contemplating it for a few seconds. “Fine. I'll wait until you’ve prepared yourself! You better show up okay!” She said, pointing towards her before running off outside of their dorm .
She let out another tired sigh, and apologized to her neighbors who were woken up in the wake of dawn due to the indigo haired girl’s antics, and headed back to her room to prepare herself for the upcoming match, a duel that she wouldn’t be able to avoid since her System was telling her to duel her.

Urgent Mission!
[Bracelet Girl: Fusion Dimension]
Defeat Serena at a duel
Rewards: 200000DP, Lunar Beast-Warriors Pack Unlocked, Menu Unlocked, Reputation (Serena) Up, Reputation (Academia) Up
Failure: Reputation (Serena) Down, Reputation (Academia) Down
-
Well, it was an Urgent Mission, to duel against the... bracelet girl? She doesn’t really know what that means, sure the girl did wear a bracelet, but is a common accessory really something that defines that girl?
Maybe it's a plot thing? Was the bracelet that she wore an important thing related to ARC-V’s plot? So is she an important character? A main character or something?
Ah there’s a bunch of stuff that she should prepare for today, classes and all that. It’s only morning and her day was already chaotic, guess her life at the Academia wouldn’t be as peaceful as she thought it would.
-
“It took you long enough to prepare yourself!” The indigo haired girl said, pointing finger towards her with her other hand on her side. ”Hurry up! Let’s duel!” The girl said, raising her left hand and bringing it down, activating her duel disk.
She held a hand over her mouth, closing a yawn and sleepily nodded to the small girl. “Yesh, yesh, leth get this over with.” She said as she turned on her own duel disk, and the two duelists dueled as the first activity that they do in the morning.
““DUEL!!””
Yuuna: 4000LP
Serena: 4000LP
“Ah, your deck is a go second one right? So it’ll probably be better if you-”
“My turn!” The indigo haired girl declared, cutting her off before she could even finish suggesting the go second deck player to go second. “I’ll set one monster face-down.” She said as a face-down monster appeared on her field.
“And I’ll set two cards face-down.” The girl said once again, as a face-down card appeared on her spell and trap zone. “I’ll end my turn.” The girl said, ending her turn with two set cards in her spell and trap zone and a face-down monster, and passed with two cards in hand.
“Alright then, my turn. I’ll draw.” Saying so she drew a card, and checked the cards that she had on hand and start to think of the plays that she could go through with-
“Ah.” She let out a sound from her mouth, making her indigo haired opponent narrowed her eyes at her. “Ah, nothing, nothing, don’t worry, don’t worry.” She said waving the girl off as she glanced at the cards in her hand.
Let it be known that she was never a morning person. Never was, and never will be. The only reason why she wasn’t really showing how actually cranky she was right now was because the one that woke her up was a kid.
But uh, her accidentally picking a still unfinished deck and bringing it for a match clearly shows that she hadn’t been fully awake when she accepted the indigo haired girl’s challenge.
Not to mention that she didn’t even set her Ace Monster with her System! Which meant that the cards on her hand were just cards that she randomly drew off the top! Thank God that she didn’t start with only spells and traps, well, Extravagance would have worked though.
Though this wasn’t even her meta deck too! Just a random deck that she built because there were some support cards for it in some of the packs that she opened. She narrowed her eyes as the possible plays went through her head.
Yep, it is a one card starter, so she could probably start with this one. “I’ll start by normal summoning Artillery Catapult Turtle!” She placed the monster card on the field, and the retrained version of Catapult Turtle appeared on her side of the field, this one having a more sophisticated look and a more futuristic vibe to it compared to its original counterpart.
Artillery Catapult Turtle - Water/Aqua/Level 4/Effect: 1000/2000
“Catapult Turtle?” The indigo haired girl said in a questioning tone, narrowing her eyes. “You- did you change your deck! Are you going easy on me!” She asked her, enraged by the notion that she was going easy against her.
“No, no, there’s no way that I’m going easy on you.” She said waving a hand to wave the girl’s statement off, mind racing to think of a valid excuse for not using her Dragonmaid deck. “Your deck is one that is specialized in going second isn’t it? So I thought that I might as well show you how a go second deck is supposed to go.”
The girl narrowed her eyes, muttering ‘go second?’ looking confused on her choice of wording, but she preserved and continued. “Anyway, I’ll activate Artillery Catapult Turtle’s effect!” She declared, waving an arm towards the turtle.
“Once per turn, I can tribute one monster to special summon one ‘Gaia The FIerce Knight’ monster or one Level 5 Dragon monster from my hand or deck.” She then snapped her fingers towards the turtle.
“I’ll tribute Catapult Turtle itself, and special summon Gaia the Magical Knight from my deck.” The turtle let out a cry, as the catapult on its back was loaded and then shot, turning itself into light particles, and reforming to form a blue cape wearing warrior with a giant decorative lance, riding on a galloping red steed.
Gaia the Magical Knight - Light/Warrior/Level 7/Effect: 2300/2100
“Gaia the Magical Knight?!” The small indigo haired girl cried out the monster’s name. “But Artillery Catapult Turtle could only special summon Gaia The FIerce Knight! That’s a rule violation!” She said, angrily pointing towards her.
“It isn’t! It isn’t!.” She said to the girl waving her arms to explain. “Gaia the Magical Knight is a monster that is always treated as Gaia The FIerce Knight! So it’s a valid target for Artillery Catapult Turtle’s effect.”
The indigo haired girl clicked her tongue at the explanation. “Then you should have explained earlier! Hurry up and continue your turn!” She said pointing towards her.
She let out a sigh, noting that bit of information and continued her turn. “Alright, alright, Gaia the Magical Knight’s second effect activates.” She said, activating the monster’s on summon effect.
“If this card is normal or special summoned, I can special summon one Level 5 Dragon from my hand or graveyard in defence position.” She explained the monster’s on summon effect, and showed the monster that she would summon from her hand.
“I’ll special summon Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon in defence position.” She said, placing the monster card in her duel disk’s sword projection. The monster that appeared was the retrained version of the iconic Curse of Dragon, and like the other retrained version of Catapult Turtle, this monster looked more sophisticated and more sleek than its original counterpart.
Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon - Dark/Dragon/Level 5/Effect: 2000/1500
“And Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon’s effect activates.” She said, activating the monster’s on summon effect, continuing the chain of effect to combo. “If this card is normal or special summoned, I can add one spell or trap card from my deck that specifically lists ‘Gaia the Dragon Champion’ in its text.”

Done with explaining the retrained monster’s effect, she showed the card that she would add to her hand to her opponent. “I’ll add the continuous spell, Spiral Spear Strike from my deck to my hand.” She said as she added the card and shuffled the cards in her hand.
She already started with the fusion spell in hand, now she was just finding a way to assemble lethal. “I’ll activate the spell, Spiral Fusion.” She said, activating the spell card, making it appear on the field and shine.
“This card lets me Fusion Summon one Dragon Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck using monsters from my hand or field as fusion materials.” She explained the card's effect, and she showed the cards that she would use as fusion materials.
“I’ll fuse Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon in my field, and Gaia the Fierce Knight Origin in my hand.” The two monsters then appeared on her field briefly, the horse riding knight raising his lance towards the heavens and the dark dragon let out a roar, before the two become absorbed in a spiral of chaos, fusing them into one singular monster.
Meh, she might as well do a summoning chant, it was one of the monsters that actually has one after all. “O knight who has mastered the mystic arts, break the dragon’s curse with your magic, and become the legendary dragoon!”
Finishing the chant, she brought down her hand. “Fusion Summon! Appear! Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons!” With a dragon’s roar accompanied by the rider’s grunt, one of the retrained version of Gaia the Dragon Champion appeared on her side of the field, carrying with him two large spears in his hands.
Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons - Wind/Dragon/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 2600/2100
“Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon’s effect.” She declared, activating another effect of the dragon monster.
“It has another effect?!” The indigo haired girl cried out, and she almost snorted when the girl thought that two effects were enough to make her shocked. That girl might flip if she sees Endymion and the other Pendulum cards, those cards are literal walls of texts after all.
She continued, explaining the monster’s effect. “If this card is sent to the graveyard, I can target one ‘Gaia the Dragon Champion’ in my monster zone, and negate the effects of face-up monsters you currently control with attack less than or equal to it until the end of this turn.”
“B-but you don’t control any Gaia the Dragon Champion!” The indigo haired girl said. “So it’s effects is useless!” She said as she waved her hand.
“Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons becomes Gaia the Dragon Champion while he is on the field.” She declared. “With that, the effect of Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon’s effect resolves, though it has no targets.” She said as she shrugged.
“But since Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons becomes Gaia the Dragon Champion while he is on the field, the additional effect of Spiral Fusion activates.” Said fusion spell then shone once again, this time that same shine also emanated from her newly summoned Fusion Monster.
“If I special summoned Gaia the Dragon Champion using the effect of Spiral Fusion, it gains 2600 points of attack. And also, that monster can make up to two attacks on monsters during the battle phase.” The Fusion Monster raised one of his spears with a war cry, followed by a roar of the cursed dragon as they shone brighter, a sign that their attack was raised.
Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons - Wind/Dragon/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 5200/2100
“5-5200 attack?! And it can attack twice on monsters?!” Serena shouted, shocked at the high amount of attack that the monster possessed now thanks to the fusion spell, along with the additional attack on monsters.
“I’ll activate the continuous spell, Spiral Spear Strike from my hand.” She said activating the continuous spell card that she had added to her hand earlier this turn with the effect of Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon.
“While this card is face-up on the field, If ‘Gaia The Fierce Knight’, ‘Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight’, or ‘Gaia the Dragon Champion’ you control attacks a Defense Position monster, it will inflict piercing battle damage.” She explained.
“Piercing!” The girl exclaimed, a bead of sweat falling from her head. “Then if it attacks then-”
“This will be lethal, yes.” She finished for the girl, though she probably didn't understand what the word meant exactly, the meaning still was understood by the indigo haired girl. “Battle.” She said as she moved to the battle phase.
“I’ll attack your face-down monster with Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons. Spiral Mage Shaver.” The dragon rider rushed forward towards the set monster, flipping it face-up and revealing that it was Lunalight Yellow Marten.
Lunalight Yellow Marten - Dark/Beast-Warrior/Level 4/Effect: 800/2000
But before the attack could connect and could hit however, the indigo haired girl activated her set card. “I-I’ll activate the trap card!” She declared as the face-down card was then flipped up. “Defense Draw!” Saying the name of the trap, the card in the field shone.
“During my opponent’s turn, at damage calculation, I can make the battle damage I take from this battle become zero, and if I do I draw one card!” The attack hits, and the twin spears of the dragon Fusion Monster pierced the Lunalight monster, destroying it and turning it into light particles, but thanks to the effect of Defense Draw, the indigo haired received no damage.
“Oh~! That’s a pretty good battle trap isn’t it?” She said as her opponent received no damage that would have put them incredibly close to lethal, and drew one card to add to her hand. But if anything the duel was probably already over at this point, if not this turn, then maybe in the next one.
“I’ll also chain my other trap, Lunalight Reincarnation Dance!” The girl said, flipping up her other face down card and revealing what it was indeed one of Lunalight’s own tribal trap cards.
“If a monster I control was destroyed, I can add up to two ‘Lunalight’ monsters from my deck to my hand!” She explained the card’s effects, and showed the two cards that she would add to her hand.
“I’ll add Lunalight Crimson Fox and Lunalight Lunalight Emerald Bird to my hand!” The small indigo haired girl showed the two cards that she added to her hand, and the chain of effects continued.
“With Lunalight Yellow Marten destroyed, the effect of Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons activates.” She said as the monster’s effect activates. “If this card destroys a monster by battle, it gains an additional 2600 attack.”
The dragon rider let out another magnificent war cry, raising his twin spears high towards the heavens. He and the dragon that he is riding shone a brilliant green, their attack rising by another 2600 points.

“7-7800!” The girl said with a wide opened mouth, befuddled at how high the Fusion Monsters attack became.
“Alright then, I’ll attack directly with Gaia the Magical Knight.” The duel was then finished as the cape wearing Gaia hit the indigo haired girl, dealing way over lethal.
“Kya!” The indigo haired girl screamed as the incredibly strong gust that went through thanks to the damage, almost kicked her off of her feet, all while her duel disk sparked with electricity.
Serena: 1700LP
It’s a shame that she didn’t manage to OTK, but she did get incredibly close, and though Gaia is now incredibly big, Serena did just add both Emerald Bird and Crimson Fox, the former can discard the latter and reduce her Gaia’s attack to zero.
Which would be incredibly troubling, especially since the deck her opponent was on could easily OTK if she summons Cat Dancer and has a tribute to activate its second effect, which will most certainly happen.
Dang and she doesn’t run any battle traps in this deck too, those are still in her Dragonmaid deck, she looked at the cards in her hand, trying to find something that could perhaps out Cat Dancer or Panther Dancer. Her eyes narrowed, looking at one of the Gaia cards in her hand.
It can’t out Panther Dancer, but it can out Cat Dancer, she hoped that her indigo haired opponent wouldn't summon it, though knowing that Kaleido Chick was released after the series ended, getting Panther Dancer should be quite hard unless she has Lunalight Fusion, and that card also was released after the series ended.
“I’ll set one card face-down, and end my turn.” She said as she set a card face-down, and ended her turn with two monsters, one being a 7800 attack Fusion Monster, a continuous spell that wouldn’t really do anything in this situation, and a face-down card.
“My turn!” The small girl declared, placing a hand over her duel disk. “Draw!” She then drew another card, making her have six cards in her hand to start with her turn. “I’ll start with summoning Lunalight Emerald Bird!”
Placing the monster card on her duel disk, the humanoid bird-based Beast-Warrior appeared on her side of the field. Her wings and feathers fluttered in the wind as she danced, and stood beside her master, prepared to attack.
Lunalight Emerald Bird - Dark/Beast-Warrior/Level 4/Effect: 1200/1000
“Emerald Bird’s effect!” Her opponent declared, activating the monster’s on summon effect. “When Emerald Bird is normal or special summoned, I can discard one ‘Lunalight’ card from my hand to the graveyard and draw one card.”
The target for the effect activation, was of course, none other than the card that she had added to her hand with Lunalight Reincarnation Dance. “I’ll discard Lunalight Crimson Fox, and draw one card!” She sent the Lunalight monster to the graveyard and drew one card, also activating its effect.
“Lunalight Crimson Fox’s effect! If this card is sent to the graveyard by a card effect I can target one face-up monster you control and change its attack to zero until the end of this turn!” She explained the monster’s effect.
She then pointed towards the effect target, grinning as she did so as she pointed towards her one and only Gaia the Magical Knights of Dragons. “I’ll turn Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons attack to zero!”
The dark red Lunalight monster appeared on her field, dancing around her dragon riding warrior. The dragon and the rider each let out a weak cry, their stats being reduced to zero and leaving them incredibly weakened.
Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons - Wind/Dragon/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 0/2100
“Now I’ll activate Polymerization!” Her opponent declared, placing the spell card on her duel disk’s sword projection, and the holographic version of the spell appeared on the field, shining.
The indigo haired girl then showed the other card that she would use as fusion material. “I’ll fuse Lunalight Blue Cat in my hand and Lunalight Emerald Bird in my field!” Declaring so, the blue cat-based Lunalight monster appeared on her field, and danced alongside Lunalight Emerald Bird.
The indigo haired girl raised both of her hands and began to chant the summoning chant. “O cat of darkness of blue! Together with the emerald bird, become one in the whirlpool of power and be reborn and reveal your power!”
She then brought down her hand and completed her chant. “Fusion Summon! Appear! Wild beast that dances on moonlight! Lunalight Cat Dancer!” The signature Fusion Monster of the Lunalight archetype then appeared on the field, with the sound of tingling bells as it danced on the indigo haired girl’s side of the field, her reddish orange hair swaying along with the wind as she danced.
Lunalight Cat Dancer - Dark/Beast-Warrior/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 2400/2000
“Lunalight Emerald Bird’s effect!” Her opponent said, activating the graveyard effect of Emerald Bird. “If this card is sent to the graveyard by a card effect, I can target and special summon one of my Level 4 or lower ‘Lunalight’ monsters that is banished or in my graveyard except Lunalight Emerald Bird, but its effects are negated!”
She selected a target for the card’s effect, and showed it to her. “I’ll target Lunalight Crimson Fox, and special summon her in defence position!” She added the card from her graveyard, and placed it on her duel disk, making the bushy tailed Linalight monster appear on her side of the field.
Lunalight Crimson Fox - Dark/Beast-Warrior/Level 4/Effect: 1800/600
“Now I’ll activate Lunalight Cat Dancer’s effect!” She declared, activating the Fusion Monster’’s secondary effect. “I can tribute one other ‘Lunalight ’ monster that I control and for the rest of this turn, the first time each monster your opponent controls would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed, and this card can attack all monsters you control this turn!”
She then points towards the target that she would use as the cost to activate the Fusion Monsters effect. “I’ll tribute Lunalight Crimson Fox!” The crimson fox beast-warrior then danced around the Lunalight Fusion Monster, and turned into light particles that was then absorbed by the Fusion Monster.
“Battle! I’ll attack you Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons with Lunalight Cat Dancer!” She said, declaring the attack, the Lunalight Fusion Monster jumping high towards the sky and prepared to attack her monster. “Lunalight Cat Dancer’s effect! If this card declares an attack, I can inflict 100 points of damage!”
The masked Fusion Monster then threw one of her daggers, the solid hologram hitting her and making her flinch. “Che.” She clicked her tongue as she received the miniscule damage that the monster deals on attack declaration.
Yuuna: 3900LP
But thankfully, this turn went accordingly to her plans, and she could actually survive the turn. “I’ll activate the continuous trap, Spiral Discharge!” She said, activating one of the Gaia support cards, flipping it face-up.
“While Gaia the Dragon Champion, who Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragon is always treated as, is in my monster zone, you can only target him for attack.” She said, saying the first clause of the continuous trap’s effect.
“Now I’ll activate Spiral DIscharge’s secondary effect! When an attack is declared involving my Gaia the Dragon Champion, I can target one card on the field and destroy it!” Her opponent’s eyes widened as she explained the second effect of the continuous trap.
“I’ll target and destroy Lunalight Cat Dancer!” As the Lunalight Fusion Monster started to descent from her leap to attack, Gaia raised one of his lances, and the cursed dragon opened its maw. Waves of spiral energy then shot out from the mouth of the dragon, and with a thrust of his spear, the waves were then focused by the knight riding the dragon, and his lance pierced the attacking Cat Dancer.
“Cat Dancer!” The indigo haired girl cried out the monster’s name as she saw Lunalight’s signature Fusion Monster be destroyed by the effect of the continuous trap. With no monsters on the field that could attack, her opponent ended the battle phase.
“I’ll activate the spell card, Luna Light Perfume!” She said, activating the recursion spell on her main phase two. “This card lets me target one ‘Lunalight’ monster in my graveyard and special summon it.”
She then chose the monster that she would special summon from her graveyard.”I’ll special summon Lunalight Cat Dancer in attack position!” A dark hole appeared in the ground, and the masked orange haired Fusion Monster returned back to her side of the field.
Lunalight Cat Dancer - Dark/Beast-Warrior/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 2400/2000
“Ah, I see. You’re trying to lower the damage that you would receive huh.” She muttered her observation out loud, deducing the reasoning as to why the girl would summon the monster in attack position.
Spiral Spear Strike lets her deal piercing, and since Cat Dancer’s attack was higher than her defence then it would be better for her to be left in attack position to reduce the damage that she would take, and with Cat Dancer being unable to be destroyed by battle then it wouldn’t trigger the effect of Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons to gain more attack.
“But when I declare an attack with Gaia again I can just pop it.” She reasoned, narrowing her eyes. “Does she have something that can prevent destruction then?”
And the girl did indeed have something to take care of, as she activated another card in her hand. “I’lla activate the spell, Polymerization!” She said, revealing that she has the second copy of Polymerization in hand.
“I’ll fuse Lunalight Cat Dancer that I control, and Lunalight purple Butterfly in my hand!” She said, showing the monster card in her hand, and the butterfly winged Lunalight monster appeared on the field, dancing around the masked Cat Dancer.
“O poisonous butterfly with the color of purple! O beautiful wild beast dancing on top of the moon! Become one in the whirlpool of power, be reborn and reveal you new power!” She chanted as she clasped both of her hands up.
“Fusion Summon!” She shouted, bringing her hands down and completed the summoning chant. “Appear! The wildest wild beast dancing under the moonlight! Lunalight Panther Dancer!” The Fusion Monster then appeared, her golden rings and other golden ornaments shining as she danced, her waist cape fluttering as she danced with her long red claws.

“I… I didn’t think that I would use this card.” The girl said, breathing heavily and looking quite haggard as the Lunalight Fusion Monster whose features were hidden by her black bangs stood beside her protectively, seemingly summoning the Fusion Monster had taken her breath away.
Seeing the inido haired girl breathing raggedly, her eyes softened and she reached out. “H-hey, are you alright? Do you need some water?” She asked the girl, who held a palm towards her and glared. She then took a deep breath and breathed out, leveling and reorganizing herself.
“I-I’m fine!” She said as she realigned herself to stand correctly. “I’ll-I’ll end my turn.” She said, ending her turn, sitting behind a Fusion Monster that can’t be destroyed by card effects, and no other cards in hand.
“In the end phase, the attack of Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons returns to its original attack, though the additional attack also disappears.” The dragon riding warrior then raised one of his lances, and his dragon too let out a roar as they were reinvigorated.
Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons - Wind/Dragon/Fusion/Level 7/Effect: 2600/2100
“Then I’ll start my turn. Draw.” She said as she drew a card, adding it to her hand and starting out with three cards in her hand. “Alright, now how do I out that...” She mused out loud as she started her turn, looking at the cards in her hand, trying to figure out how to out the monster in her opponent’s side of the field.
Ugh, she found a way to actually out this. It's incredibly crusty, and it will take basically all of her recourse, but it will get her lethal. “I’ll start by tributing Gaia the Magical Knight of Dragons, and special summon Soldier Gaia The Fierce Knight!”
A gust of wind surrounded the Dragon Fusion Monster, and consumed the warrior and the dragon that it rode, and as the gust dispersed, a Dark Warrior clad in cobalt blue and gold armor with red additions appeared, his black cape flowing as he held his silver trident in hand,
Soldier Gaia The Fierce Knight - Dark/Warrior/Level 8/Effect: 2600/2100
“Soldier Gaia’s effect!” She said, activating the monster’s effect. “If this card is special summoned, I can target one attack position monster on the field and change it to defence position. I’ll change Panther Dancer to defence.”
Declaring so, the trident wielding warrior stabbed his weapon into the ground, and the red clawed Lunalight monster then was turned into defence positon, signaled by crouching down and having both of her hands in front of her.
Oh, wait, Panther Dancer isn’t immune to battle. She could just attack here for lethal. Jeez, and she thought that she would have to hard tribute the Gaia the Magical Knight in her hand and summon the Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon in her grave to add another copy of Spiral Fusion and attack for game, this is way easier.
“Battle!” She declared, moving on to the battle phase. “I’ll attack Lunalight Panther Dancer with Soldier Gaia The FIerce Knight!” The Dark Warrior monster then raised his trident, and dashed off towards his opponent.
The panther-based Lunalight monster readied her claws, preparing to defend from the monster’s attack, but the thrust of the trident of her monster managed to pierce through them, destroying her and turning her into particles of light.
“Guh!” The indigo haired girl grunted, as she received the small amount of damage that she received from the piercing effect given to Soldier Gaia from Spiral Spear Strike.
Serena: 1600LP
“Spiral Spear Strike’s effect triggers.” She said, informing her opponent. “Since I inflicted battle damage with its piercing effect, I get to draw two cards and discard one card.” Saying so, she drew two cards and discarded one, not that it really mattered.
“I’ll discard Curse of Dragonfire.” Discarding the card, she continued the battle phase. “I’ll continue. I’ll attack directly with Gaia the Magical Knight!” The horse riding warrior raised his lance, and galloped towards her opponent and struck for game.
“Kya!” She screamed as she was struck by the horse riding warrior’s lance, reducing her Life Points to zero, and falling to her behind simply from the blow of the solid hologram.

The monsters on the field then disappeared, and her duel disk then turned off as she approached the indigo haired girl, and extended a hand to help her up. “Here. Can you stand?” She asked, and the girl looked at her with dazed eyes before nodding, taking her hand and pulling to help her stand up.
She then looked at the girl closely, seeing that she was indeed wearing a bracelet, but more important than that, she was looking closely at the recent behavior of the girl from the short time that she has known her, using all knowledge about psychology that she knows of.
First off, from the start of her meeting with the girl, she seemed incredibly feisty, what with wanting to duel her and all. The keyword to her behavior being that she wants to prove herself, which means that she wants attention, or rather recognition.
She doesn’t really know if she’s lookin for recognition of a certain person or not, but if possible she wants to make the girl grow out of that kind of behavior, it’s kind of unhealthy after all.
She was, after all, a Bracelet Girl, whatever that is, but it probably meant that she’s an important character in the series. And since she was in the Fusion Dimension, the dimension which started the series’ plot in the first place, then that probably meant that she was an antagonist? Probably? This is what she gets for not watching the anime.
Probably not now that she thinks about it, she uses Lunalights, an archetype that did get Pendulum cards as support, which meant that she’s one of the protagonists. Probably. Unless Academia finds out a way to print out Pendulums at one point.
But if anything, she also just wants to help the girl to be a better duelist in general, heaven knows that the Academia staff wouldn’t actually make her a competent duelist, and Lunalight was always an interesting OTK deck with some good boss monsters.
But the girl wasn’t able to even summon any one of those monsters, and the problem was of course her inability to summon those monsters onto her field, what with being unable to have access to their tribal fusion spell or just general Polymerization to get them on field.
That and she needed general consistency boosters, preferably cards like Tenki, since it’s a card that would add one Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior monster from the deck, that and a miniscule boost of attack, but it's the consistency booster that’s important.
She Looked at the clock in the clearing, showing that she still has a lot of time until their class starts, and she looked at the indigo haired girl in front of her. “Um, do you mind if I ask you something?” She asked the indigo haired girl, who blinked a few times at her question, but eventually nodded and gave her permission to ask her question.
She then walked to a bench, and sat, patting the empty seat beside her. The small girl seemed nervous at first, but slowly she walked towards her, and sat on the bench with her. “Umu, well, do you only run Lunalight cards in your deck?” She asked, the question making the girl glance at her with a confused look.
“What do you mean by that?” She asked her back, looking quite confused at her question. “Of course I only run Lunalight cards. These cards are… these are the only cards that I have..” She said as she held her deck closely.
Oh. Huh. So it was like that huh. “I see.” She said, nodding her head, looking calm for anyone looking, though inside she was panicking as much as she had when the client suddenly has a major change in their request and she has to deliver the message to the development team.
“Well, have you tried running consistency boosters?” She asked the girl, tilting her head slightly to get a clearer look at the girl’s reaction. “I’ve heard from the rumour mill that you’re quite a strong duelist, so I had just thought that you would run cards that would boost your deck’s consistency, though I didn’t see you play them in our duel.”
“Consistency booster?” The girl repeated the term as if it was foreign, looking thoroughly confused. “What are those? I-if I have those cards in my deck will I be stronger?!” The girl asked, inching her face closer towards her’s.
“Ah, ah! Too close! Too close! Personal space! Personal space!” She said, putting both hands up between their faces and moved away slightly. She sighed in her hands to reorganize herself and answered the indigo haired girl’s question, looking directly to her excited green eyes as she did so.
“Y-yes, it certainly will I guess.” She said. “Consistency boosters are exactly what they mean really, cards that boost your deck’s consistency.” Explaining this, she took out her deck and showed a card in it to the girl sitting beside her.
“For example this card.” She said, showing the monster card that she had used previously in their duel. “This Artillery Catapult Turtle, I can use it to basically start my combo, since it can get me any of the cards that I would need on field. Like Gaia the Magical Knight or Curse of Dragon, the Cursed Dragon and po off from there.”
She said, returning the card to her deck to her deck and shuffling it, then continued the explanation of deck consistency and its importance. “If you run consistency cards like these, then you could get out your Ace Monster consistently, though from the look of it you could already do it quite consistently yourself.”
“Well, yes.” The indigo haired girl said, nodding her head looking quite proud of herself. “I’ve always been able to summon Cat Dancer almost every duel, and even when I don’t I’m usually able to draw cards that I would need to win the duel.”
Hearing the girl say something so absurd as that with a straight face made her balk and look at her in awe, an act that her benchmate apparently was not used to as she blushed lightly“ W-why are you staring at me like that! Stop it!” She said as she humphed and looked away.
“A-sorry, sorry, I was just amazed that’s all.” She said, scratching her cheek. This card was a main character alright. That kind of ability was clearly something that only main characters would have, a dueling sense that basically wills the card that they would draw to be the card that they need? That’s a main character trait alright.
“Well, you certainly showed that in your last duel, if you had summoned Lunalight Panther Dancer and attacked with her then you would have won.” She said, thinking of the possible outcome that could have been their match.
“After all, Panther Dancer can’t be destroyed by card effects, right? And it also has the secondary effect of Cat Dancer where it could tribute another Lunalight monster that let it attack all monsters twice and not destroy them on the first battle. If you had done that I wouldn’t have been able to do anything.”
Nodding her head and finishing her short rant, she looked at the girl sitting beside her, and saw her eyes were wide open and she had a hand near her mouth. “So if I had just summoned Panther Dancer earlier then I would have won?” She mumbled out, and she nodded her head in response.
“Yeah, you would have won. And since you used Crimson Fox to reduce Gia the Magical Knight of Dragons’ attack to zero, that would have been way over lethal.” She said, confirming the girl’s speculation.
Hearing that the girl looked frustrated balling her fist tightly, angry at herself for seemingly missing lethal that could have been easily achieved and losing her the game. Seeing that reaction from her, she tried to diffuse the girl’s tension.
“But, that’s fine. Losing that is.” She said, making the girl look at her. “Even I lose sometimes you know, when I draw bad cards or when my combo falls apart.” She said reminding of the times where she lost because she drew garnets or when her opponent Ashed her important combo piece.
Or when they Vielered, Drolled, Gammad, or basically using their interaction on whatever choke points that the deck that was playing at that point had, and she had no extenders to at least build a board or assemble lethal.
“And in retrospect, you’re amazing.” She said, looking at the small indigo haired girl with sparkling eyes. “I mean, being able to draw exactly the cards that you needed to even summon Panther Dancer on your third turn, that’s amazing! I’ve only been able to get this far because I wasted a lot of my time building my deck exactly so that it could consistently summon my Boss Monster of choice, and I ran a lot of cards that helped me do that.”
Well, that and a lot of meta knowledge and insider knowledge on basically what her opponent’s deck does, and basically knowing their choke points. That and basically having overpowered cards that can plus her to infinity with no downsides like Chamber and Kitchen, or just a generally consistent deck like the deck she just used that could pump out a 5200 attack Gaia easily.
“And misplays like the one that you did weren’t wrong either. And it was minor at best.” She informed the girl sitting beside her. “You wanted to reserve resources, and you thought that you could have closed out the game with Cat Dancer. I could have had Karma Cut it Palaeozoic Dinomischus for all you know, and the result of the match would have more or less been the same had you summoned Panther Dancer.”
Yep, after all Panther Dancer was only immune to card effect destruction, and not other ways of removal like Karma Cut and Dinomischus that would banish it, or even other forms of non destruction removal that are in the game.
“Karma Cut? Paleo… something mischus?” The girl said, looking confused at the two cards that she named. Ah, right. This is still a format where battle destruction is the method that everyone uses as removal, so cards like Karma Cut and Dinomischus weren’t all that famous.
“Ah, those are basically generic trap cards that can remove a monster from the field without destroying them, banishing them instead.” She said, informing the girl of the two strong trap cards that have seen healthy competitive play.
She’s sidetracking, get back to the point of the talk Yuuna! “Well, anyway! The point is don’t beat yourself up about losing.” She said to the smaller girl sitting beside her, placing her hand on her head and patting like she would Mei.
The girl tried to push her hand away, a notion that made her grin and try to pat the girl’s head harder. A downcast or angry look like that doesn’t suit a young girl like her after all, she’s a kid for goodness sake, and kids like her should just have fun.
And though this was her own personal way of having fun, she hoped that the girl could at least find some enjoyment in it. “Say, how about we add some cards that would help your deck then?”
She perked up at hearing the words that came out of her mouth, only to narrow her eyes in suspicion. “Why?” She asked her. “Why are you going this far to help me? If I got stronger then I would win against you, wouldn’t that be bad against you?” She said the last part in a whisper.
“Nah, that would be fine.” She replied to the girl without any hesitation, making the girl snap her head at her. “As I said, losing isn’t a bad thing. That just shows that you have room for improvement after all, and that’s important in it’s own way.”
With all that said and done, she looked at the indigo haired girl with a grin. “So, I already have a few ways in mind to get your deck even better than it is now, wanna hear about it?”
-
“N-no way! She even beat that Serena!”
“I watched the video, apparently she did beat the Ra Yellow top three in a battle royal!”
“T-that’s! She’s crazy strong! She summoned a monster with 5800 attack! And it became 7200 attack!”
“Champion! She’s really the Champion! Didn’t you see how she even beat Marufuji in that duel in the Junior League Tournament!”
“Too strong! Too strong! I don’t think that even the Obelisk Blues can win against her!”
And so, without the person in question knowing about it, the morning match that Yuuna had with Serena was watched and recorded by someone that was in the courtyard, and the video circulated around the school.
And so, the legend of the red haired Champion began, and no matter what adversary she would face, her reign would remain undeterred.
