The crystal white veil was training behind the shaking figure as she ran towards the edge of the formal garden. Shadows hid the path, causing her to stumble and veer into obstacles.
Glancing over her shoulder, she caught sight of a mysterious light in an upper window. A shiver spiralled around her spine and whirled down her tense limbs, stinging her toes and fingers. Her diaphanous dress snagged upon an ageing headstone and instantly slit up her left side. Snatching at the delicate material, she managed to free the robe out of the jaws of the grate and flee into the ominous dark woods.
