Chapter 23: Helping Kiba

"Are you both... sure?''

Issei didn't respond, simply turning to look at his friend, Kiba looked like a lot of things were going through his head, but honestly who could blame the guy?

He was about to come face to face with the person who started the whole project... The person there thinking to use to start the project again in case the need arises.

But his eyes seemed to focus as Kiba looked up to Rias and nodded firmly.

As Issei stood from his seat, he was stopped by a hand pulling his sleeve, looking down he saw Koneko looking up at him.

Shifting he smiled as she pulled him down so she could wrap her arms around his neck and hug him tightly.

''Take care of Kiba, please... We'll all be waiting.'' Her voice despite not holding a lot of emotion, her eyes held a lot as she pulled away to look at the both of them.

Rias and Akeno both pulled Issei in and kissed him, when Rias finished she glared to Issei.

''If something goes wrong, both of you come back, no hesitation alright?''

Issei chuckled a bit, shaking his head. ''Don't worry, if I have to I'm ready at any moment to go full power."

Akeno spoke up next to them. ''Once you enter the country, you will be counted in hostile territory. Remember to use your dragonic interference before activating your promotion to Queen."

''I know, Ddraig has already got it ready the moment we finish the teleport. Kiba, let's go.''

As they were leaving Issei got a message on his phone, it was Gasper saying good luck with a big heart. Issei responded with a saluting gif before he slid his phone into his jacket pocket, which was pulled in by Ddraig into small space magic where he kept his essentials he didn't want to break during combat.

As he and Kiba left, they quickly took off, flying along the sea, and only suddenly diving down into it, surrounded by a large bullet-looking force as they traveled quickly down until they entered an underwater cave. Once they traveled for a few minutes they soon began to swim upwards again before they broke the surface again.

''Damn, no dragonic horde? Guess I'll be left hoping.'' Kiba sighed, causing Issei to chuckle with a shake of his head.

''This one doesn't have anything because I've already cleared it out, there were a lot of things that disturbed mana, and I didn't want anything going wrong. I'll show you Ddraig and I's horde once we return.''

''Did you clear both locations?'' Kiba's brows raised, a little hopeful.

''Yes.'' Issei grinned

''Tsk.'' With a click of Kiba's tongue he joined Issei as Issei began to walk forward to the strongest concentration of mana.

''Don't worry, we'll go horde raiding at a later date, for now. Focus, it's going to be extremely dangerous.''

''Dangerous? Issei, I'm the one staying back in the cave, which is already incredibly protected, and I also know you and Ddraig have already been into the other one to make sure it's even better protected. It's you about to charge into a church envoy, and steal a highly valued target.''

''Yes, that a very, very small select few people know being transported, and I have a plan for that as well.''

Soon, Issei grabbed Kiba's hand and mana began to build around them. The mana submerged over them as it was like a thick membrane. It became hard to breathe, the only person experiencing it was Kiba, becoming slightly short of breath before it suddenly stopped, the entirety of the cave around them vastly different.

There was actually a metal chair here, red runes glowing in it.

''You said the chair would look menacing, but that looks like a chair for torture.'' Kiba quipped, staring at the chair while he caught his breath.

Issei raised his shoulder. ''Don't ask me, Ddraig made it. All I know is, that any questions you have, WILL be answered, and he won't be able to move. After you're done, he will be dragged into the Dragon Vein, which apparently will be VERY painful.''

Kiba nodded as he made his way over to the chair, watching it.

Issei watched him for a moment before he spoke up. ''Alright, I'll be back soon. Should take me no longer than an hour...''

Kiba gave a slight nod before he suddenly used his gear to summon a throne of swords, Issei snickered when he saw it but he didn't comment on it.

Instead, he turned to the tunnel of the cave they were in and he leaned forward slowly, dropping his hands onto the ground he got onto all fours. ''I feel stupid.''

~"If you want speed, this is the best way... Are you sure about this partner?''~

''If I can't trust you Ddraig, the person with a direct link to my mana, my heart, and my mind. Then there is no one else I can trust... What's trusting my body?''

There was no response from his dragonic friend, but momentarily, Issei could've sworn he felt something strengthen, not being sure what it was he ignored it for now.

''Promotion: Queen.''

Suddenly a wave of magic released off him as his, now six mutated pieces suddenly flared along with the nonmutated pieces and they all joined to promote into a mutated Queen piece, boosting his base stats greatly.

Issei grinned before he spoke. ''Let's ruin the image of our 'Rival.''

Suddenly, a massive amount of dragonic energy began to raise from Issei before slowly his legs released loud cracks as they began to break and bend.

When Kiba heard it he flinched slightly, his eyes suddenly filling with worry. He was told it may be somewhat painful to watch... But this wasn't what he was imagining.

Kiba watched as Issei's flesh tore, scaled bleeding out from him a nice pearly white. Slowly he watched as the Issei he knew turned into a smaller white dragon, seeming focused on speed and agility.

~Everything alright partner?~

'I want to scream, this is many levels over my pain tolerance, let's get this done.'

The eyes flashed a deep green, before slowly turning a beautiful blue, once they did. The both of them took off.
