"Well, let me give you the basic cost you need to prepare to become a professional." He straightened his seat, focusing his attention on me. "You need to have decent gear like shoes and knee pads, but I have no doubt that you have already thought about this part." He nodded at my explanation.
"Then you need training equipment for the workout to build your body. I will recommend you join a gym because while it is more expensive, you will be monitored by the local coach to avoid mistakes and unnecessary injury. You also need to step up your physical training, because the training in professional teams will be more intense than in high school.
And then, we come into your main problem, injury. You have a history of knee injuries that you need to be more careful about, for the recovery itself will hurt your finances. It will also make your chance to get scouted smaller because any scouts will have doubt about your list of injuries, especially if you have never advanced to the national tournament.
So, without the support from your parents, do you think you can cover all of them before you gained your first contract?" I glanced at Oikawa who sighed deeply.
"Is that all?" I can hear depression tone in his voice. I snorted amusedly.
"Unfortunately for you, it is just the beginning. If you cannot advance to the national tournament until you graduate, you can say goodbye to getting scouted. That means you have to go through every trial provided by the professional team until you get the contract. So, imagine if in one month there are at least three trials from professional teams, then you must prepare for the living cost for every trial because it is impossible for a trial to end just in one day."
"How about going abroad?" He asked hesitantly.
"Well, the reason why I tell you the bench players will be better than you is because of the language barrier. You are in the position that needed to communicate with each other the most. While yes, you can speak English, you said you hold an interest in Argentina. Almost all of them speak Latina, so unless you can communicate well enough with the local language, I doubt you will have a place on the court.
And speaking of Argentina's volleyball, I think you will have a hard time joining the professional there, because the federation is limiting the teams to only one foreigner for every team, and there was no Japanese that have been playing there. Usually, they will choose a player from Brazil because of the similar playing style. So, I doubt your chance is good enough there."
"So, what do you think I should do?" Oikawa muttered silently. I sighed, decided to take pity on him and make a call to someone the former Hiroyuki met at the junior world cup.
"Hello Mr. Matheo, good morning," I speak in English fluently.
[Good morning to you too, Mr. Hori. I am surprised to see your name on my phone. What can I do for you?] A young voice with a heavy accent can be heard from my phone, making Oikawa curious about it.
"Well, do you think you can go to Miyagi for our high school prefectural tournament? I have a friend that I think you would like to scout, and he will graduate from high school next year." This time, no voice can be heard for a moment before he replied with a serious tone.
[Why Miyagi, and not in the national tournament?] I grimaced at that,
"Unfortunately for him, Miyagi can only send one team to the national, and his team has never won against the local powerhouse."
[So, why do you think I will be interested in your friend, while I can go to the national tournament and find other players?]
"Because we are similar, Mr. Matheo," I said with a smile this time. "You said it yourself before, that I have good eyes for recognizing talent just like you, and I will not make a random recommendation. Moreover, I know your team needs a good setter since your last one will be retired next season. So, as I said, I bet you will be interested in my friend here." I tensed for a bit as I cannot hear any voice before a loud laugh can be heard from my phone.
[You are indeed an interesting young man, Mr. Hori. If you ever want to join the volleyball industry once again, just call me and you will have a spot on my team. As for your friend? I will be there personally. When will the tournament begin?] I sighed, relieved at his answer.
"Thank you, Mr. Matheo. The tournament will be started in two weeks. I will send the video of my friend to your email. Have a good day, Mr. Matheo." I closed the phone and turned my attention to Oikawa who looked at me curiously.
"That is Mr. Federico di Matheo, the head scout of Vero Volley Monza in Italy." This time, Oikawa's eyes widened at me.
"He will come here to Miyagi for the prefecture tournament just to see you, so you better do better than your 100% in the next tournament, as it is your best chance to get scouted."
"What about going to the national tournament?" Oikawa asked, still stunned at what I said before.
"You don't have to worry about it, as I have explained it to him. You just need to improve your game because Italian volleyball is one of the best in the world, so Mr. Matheo will not be impressed by your play easily. You also need to start learning English, as you will have to communicate with him in the next month."
"THANK YOU, YUKI-SENPAI!" Oikawa suddenly bowed to me deeply.
"You can thank me when you have the green light from Mr. Matheo." Oikawa didn't raise his head, instead bowed more to me, and I can see a single tear threatening to escape his eyes.

"No, really. I am really grateful for your help. While I was thinking about how to be a professional, you give me a way to get scouted by the team from the best league in the world. For that, I will never forget about you."
"Well, as I said before, you better thank me later. For now, improve your game, and be ready for Shiratorizawa and maybe Karasuno." The mention of Karasuno makes Oikawa smirks.
"Of course, I cannot lose to Kageyama and the shrimp." After he thanked me once again, he finally he leaves me alone. But five minutes after Oikawa left, my phone is ringing once again, with Megumi-san's name on it. Thinking that she might want to congratulate me on the Tezuka award, I replied quickly.
"Hello Megumi-san, good morning. What can I do for you?"
[Good morning, Hiro. I am sorry for bothering you, but can you come here please?] I straightened my back, paying attention to what she said because of the urgent tone of her voice.
"What happened?"
[There is an old acquaintance of Rena-san from Totsuki who wants to discuss something with you and me here.] I frowned.
"Why?"
[I don't really know, but it seems important. Can you do it?] I sighed tiredly.
"Okay, I will be there this afternoon. Just wait."
[Thank you, Hiro.]
After giving Kiyoko a message to Kiyoko that I will go to the den, I spend the next three hours sitting on the train while wondering about what business Totsuki has with us. While doing so, I tried to remember everything about the Totsuki from Shokugeki no Soma in my first life.
After I arrived at the den, I quickly went to the kitchen, and to my surprise, Megumi-san is not alone there. She is with a very old person who I know very much from the Shokugeki no Soma's manga.
"Hiro! Thank you for coming here as quickly as you can. This is-"
"I know about him." I cut Megumi-san, still staring at the old man without giving any hint of expression.
"Oh, so you know about me?" The old man just raised one of his eyebrows slightly.
"Yes, I know you well enough. So, what can we do for the Totsuki's headmaster, Sanzaemon Nakiri?"
