"Good Afternoon everyone, After a hearty meal I believe you're all ready for the last class of the day that is, 'Magic Application'. I'm Professor Numen Rudder and I'll be responsible for making you all an apt mage in the future."

Professor Numen wasn't unfamiliar to the students because they all had seen him in the dining area sitting at the faculty area. He was a curly white haired old man with a pot belly under the layers of his clothes. He had an amicable face which would made any student comfortable enough to go and resolve their doubts with him anytime they wanted to.

"I'm aware that many of you know nothing about magic at all and would also be quite worried during the last two classes during the morning session. So let be brief you on it now so that you all have a basic idea.

In order to use magic one need to have sufficient mana in them. That mana becomes sufficient only when your intelligence stat is above 150 but it might vary for some people.

Now, mana is of different nature: Earth, Water, Fire and Wind and they can be identified by the colour yellow, blue, red and green respectively. There are several other aswell but those are of unique natures and an individual can only have them after they go through a breakthrough in their journey as a mage.

Some of you may already know the nature of your mana but most of you won't so the first thing we'll do in this class is to let you all know the nature of your mana." Professor Numen said and took out a deck of cards which were all white on both sides.

"Take one card each and then we'll start the process " Professor Numen said and the students started picking up the cards one by one. 

When all the students had the cards on their hands professor Numen said "Alright, it might seem disgusting to some of you newbies but the process is rather simple, spit on the card and wait for it to get absorbed, the card will then change its colour to match with that of your mana.

Many faces among the students had a disgusted expression on them but there were also some who couldn't care less. Jane was the first one to spit on her card followed by Rose and quickly the rest of the class followed.

Everyone then silently waited for their cards to absorb their saliva both with anticipation and nervousness. Jane being the first one to spit naturally got to know her result first. Her card turned green which indicated that her mana posseser wind nature.

"A wind affinity. The wind affinity users are agile and are able to cast spells in quick successions." Professor Numen commented seeing Jane's card.

Soon other cards also started changing colours, Rose's card took the colour red which meant her mana she possessed was of fire nature.

"A fire affinity user..." Professor Numen seeing that almost everyone's card had changed colours started briefly explaining each nature of mana and how it effects the abilities of the person.

"Finally, keep in mind that your nature of mana doesn't restricts you to use spells of other nature but your efficiency in using them would be quite low compared to when people with that particular mana nature use it." Professor Numen said.

Everyone listened to him carefully not wanting miss a single information. Professor Numen then snapped his fingers and all the cards burnt to crisps startling everyone. 

"Alright, your mana nature is now saved in the academy documents. Let's start with what you all have been waiting for. I'll make you all feel your mana flow for the very first time. The process would be a bit long but we have no shortage of time so be relaxed." Professor Numen said.

Following the instructions given by Professor Numen everyone sat on the ground. Thankfully the practical hall was a large and clean place so they didn't have any problem in doing so. After sitting down they all closed their eyes and started breathing slowly. Professor Numen's words sounded in their ears.

"Inside all of you is a mana core. The core is where the mana resides and through many intricate vessels the mana circulates all over your body before coming back to it. Your job now is to feel the flow and get familiar with the mana path. It would have been more difficult earlier but now that you're aware of your mana nature it would be easier. Create a mental image of a circular core in your mind filled with mana of your respective nature and just focus on it."

The students did as they were told and seeing that they all have done it without any problem Professor Numen continued "The place where your core resides is in your abdomen . So now, imagine that core being just below your lungs inside your body and then try to feel your core until I give you further instructions."

Professor Numen stopped and started observing the students who didn't realised that they had been already been sitting on the ground for more than an hour. Sensing that change in the air, Professor Numen said "Do you feel it? The feeling linked to the nature of your mana in your abdomen? Those of Earth nature would feel the heaviness, those of wind nature would feel the cool winds, those of fire nature would feel the warmth and those of water nature would feel the cold water moving inside them."

Professor Numen then instructed them all to use this feeling to imagine the direction in which their mana is moving inside their body.

Without knowing three hours passed and Professor Numen finally ended the class making the students come out of their trance with the sound of his clap.

"This is it for today. Hope you enjoyed the sensation of being able to feel your mana. Meditate like this more often every day because you all need to be able to sense your mana without needing to close your eyes to concentrate if you want to become a strong mage." Professor Numen said and slowly walked out of the class.

Jane was ecstatic with today's events. Getting to feel something like mana flowing inside you is truly an amazing thing. Now that she was done with it she couldn't help but think back to the feeling. The feeling of cold winds moving inside her made her feel rejuvenated.

Jane turned to see Rose who was all covered in sweat and asked in surprise "What happened to you?"

Rose looked at the refreshed Jane with envy and said "Since the nature of my mana is fire it's natural for me to feel hot while doing this...sigh."

"Oh, I feel bad for you now." Jane said.

"It's alright, it's the price one has to pay for being hot" Rose said while making a haughty look.

"I take back my words...." Jane said in disdain. After which both of them laughed at their antics as they walked outside the academic building.
