Chapter - 2 (part2)

During the entire meal not a single word was spoken by the either sides.Jean, unable to stand  the pressing silence that transpired tried to initiate a conversation.

"So um...Mr. Albrecht, is there anything in particular that you like to do in your free time?"

Jean doesn't why he said such a thing but this silence is killing him! Its so awkward ah~ Oh!And besides, he does need to increase his favourability level.

Emile put down his spoon as he raised his head.

"...Well.Its not much but I do like reading books in my free time....And painting too."

The word 'reading' instantly caught Jean's attention but when Emile added that he liked to paint Jean's eyes lit up like two huge bulbs. He lost his composure there.

"Y-you like reading books and painting?"

"Uh...Yes.That's how it is.(?)"

Emile was unable understand why the fourth prince, who was known as the 'Trash' in the entire Credian kingdom would have such a reaction.

'What? Does he have problem with him practicing his hobbies too?! Wasn't it enough to humiliate them in front of the entire empire that now he wanted to restrict their actions too?'

Jean felt so excited upon hearing his answer that he completely missed the sharp glint that passed through those green eyes as he turned to the stone faced Justus on the left.

"And what about you, do like to draw too?Or... uh maybe maybe..."

Cutting him off mid-sentence as he spouted off questions like a broken record Justus threw only a single word, "Sword".

"Oh" Even being cutt-off it didn't make him disheartened.Looking at the latter Jean suddenly felt that there was still hope.If he works hard enough maybe he can escape the dark ending.

'Ah really. How can I forget about their hobbies eh?'

It was at this moment that Jean figured out what his next move will be.

Back in his  chambers, flipping through the pages of the small notebook Jean dotted another point to his to-do list. This list was prepared in the afternoon when he was in the garden.

Though he is anxious for what is to come next he can't do anything right now since the world outside is already starting to get dark.He can only wait for the next day.

When Darrion entered the room he saw his master sitting at the edge of the bed with his brows creased.

"Master, would you like a massage?W-well since it was a long day it will help reduce the stress."

Ever since he was a kid the first thing taught to him was 'loyalty to his master'.So throughout the novel Darrion was the only one who stayed by Jason's side no matter what.

Back when writing the book, Jean didn't care much because such a character always adds to the depth of the story and he without any hesitation killed him while Darrion was protecting the original. But now sitting in front of his creation he finally realised that this is a person with flesh and blood, very much alive. And not just a paper person.

Taking a deep breath Jean beckoned Darrion to come forward. As Darrion prepared for the massage all Jean could feel right now is guilt.

"Tomorrow... let's go for a walk outside the palace."

Looking up at the boy Jean could see the surprise in his eyes. Small though it was, it was there because Jean remembered that the original would never let Darrion accompany him.Trapped inside the palace for years. The day he entered the palace to accompany the original was the last day he had ever seen the outside world.

'He must be feeling lonely.'

Though he wants to make things better and clear the original's name he cannot do it just yet.He knows that it will take time and therefore he will take one step at a time.

"Yes...one step at a time."

"Master?"

Turning towards Darrion Jean spoke, "Oh.Its nothing. By the way you didn't answer my question. So, Are you coming or not...

Uh...if it's a 'no' then forget it I will ask som-

"I-i'll come!"Not waiting for him to finish his sentence Darrion immediately spoke out.

Jean knows that if he goes 'OOC' he will be the subject of suspicion. And thus he needs to keep up the previous owner's attitude.

"Humph! Well then we will leave first thing in the morning so prepare whatever is needed."

With these words he made his way towards his bed but the thought that he will have to face the male leads stopped him on his tracks.

"Uh...And also, no need for breakfast. We can have it outside."

"Yes master"Bowing, Darrion couldn't hide the happiness that was blooming all over his face but even so he restrained himself.

Leaving after wishing a good night he left Jean alone in his room.

Climbing on his bed, Jean for the first time felt a kind of satisfaction that even words will feel short to describe before he went into a dreamless slumber.
