"This is my wife Abigail and my daughter Eve." Marcus sat across from Everleigh who looked from him to the young woman behind him.

"It's nice to meet you Ms. Everleigh?" Abigail half asked because she could tell Everleigh was important, but didn't recall seeing her before.

"Dad? Who is she?" Eve asked with furrowed brows, but her eyes widened when her father looked at her coldly and spoke with a firm voice.

"She is Ms. Everleigh to you Eve. She'll be our guest tonight." Marcus added and shocked even if wife because it was well known Marcus didn't eat with anyone but family.

Seeing the look he was getting from his wife, Everleigh didn't even try to help and instead turned back to the TV as if she were unrelated to the situation.

"Dad, is she your Mistress?" Although Abigail was curious, Eve was less tactful and directly asked and both Mia and Marcus became pale. If Everleigh could be anyone's mistress, they'd have to be so powerful it was unthinkable.

"Eve!" Mia spoke sternly and shocked Eve because although she had seen her grandmother angry, it was a first that she herself was the recipient of it.

"Let's eat?" Everleigh spoke as if she didn't hear the question before, and that relieved Marcus because although he didn't know who exactly she was, with her casual help, he was now a top figure in the country.

"Sure." Marcus nodded and led them to the dining room, a masterpiece of interior designing and organizing. When Everleigh sat down, she was sitting next to Mia and Eve while Abigail sat across from her with Marcus to her right.

"So Abigail? How old are you?" Everleigh asked as people brought several dishes and placed them on the table and then left. Seeing Marcus not saying anything, Abigail answered cautiously.

"I'm thirty seven this year." Hearing her, Everleigh nodded and then delicately stabbed the fork into a piece of pasta and then bit it with a cool expression.

"And you?" Seeing Everleigh not saying anything else, Abigail wanted to know more about the woman her husband seemed to respect and fear so much and asked.

"Nn? My age? Just shy of eight hundred years." Everleigh may not have the memories of all the way back then, but she knew her age and birth place very well.

"Cough!" Marcus coughed in shock because even though he knew Everleigh wasn't normal, he never asked her how old she was, and hearing that she was alive for nearly eight hundred years was a shock.

"Are you making fun of my mother?!" Eve asked angrily because she could only say it was a joke! She barely looked twenty five, could she even claim to be thirty?

"Everl-" Marcus wanted to speak, but Everleigh's blue eyes turned to Eve and looked at her with a thoughtful expression and then turned back, ignoring the fierce eyes Eve stared back with.

"It's fine, she's still young." Everleigh spoke lazily and kept eating, not minding the gaze of fierceness she was getting from her right. Shortly after, Eve excused herself, leaving the three four adults.

"Sorry for her rudeness." Marcus apologized and was shocked when Everleigh gave him another smile, only this one was a bit less warm but also not threatening either.

"Like I said, it's fine." Everleigh looked back at Abigail and then to Mia. "I'm sorry I missed your wedding." Everleigh ignored Abigail's confusion and kept eating elegantly.

"Thirty years ago, Everleigh helped me by investing and made me who I am now." Marcus explained briefly and wasn't surprised when Abigail stared at Everleigh differently.

"She doesn't even look thirty..." Abigail mumbled in disbelief under her breath and then froze when she saw Everleigh giving her a smile. She muttered it but Everleigh seemed to have heard her clearly.

After eating, Everleigh bid everyone a good night and left, while Abigail followed while saying she wanted to see her off. When the two stepped outside, Everleigh gave Abigail a curious look.

"Can I help you?" Everleigh asked lightly and frowned when Abigail approached her, stopping a few inches away and spoke to Everleigh coldly while staring her in the eyes.

"What do you plan to do with my husband?" Abigail spoke while staring at her and saw a small amount of coldness in Everleigh's eyes, one that made her shiver as if she were being looked at by a serpent.

"Doesn't concern you." Everleigh shook her head and wanted to leave, but Abigail caught her arm and went to pull her back. Everleigh's speed was overwhelming and grabbed Abigail's arm and held it firmly.

"Listen. I will let you go this once. But you will not try this again." Abigail could see the disdain in Everleigh's eyes and before she could restrain herself, her hand slapped Everleigh's pale face.

"You!" Everleigh's face turned emotionless as she pushed Abigail back until Abigail's back hit the wall that was a few meters away, but Everleigh was still in front of her.

"Now now Everleigh? Whatever did this poor woman do to you?" A teasing voice sounded and a pair of footsteps walked over and both women looked at the woman with many similarities to Everleigh walking over with a smirk.

"Oh, did she hit you? Aren't you too much to bully a child like this?" Her black hair and emerald green eyes stared at Everleigh with amusement and a hint of challenge.

"Ashleigh." Everleigh spat with annoyance and released Abigail's body and turned to Ashleigh who opened her arms expectantly, and wasn't surprised when Everleigh ignored her and walked to her car.

"Sister?! Why are you so cold to me?" Ashleigh covered several meters jn a flash and yanked Everleigh's head back, smiling when the sound of Everleigh's low growl rumbled in her throat in warning.

"Let go!" Everleigh's arm struck Ashleigh and sent her staggering while her face turned into one of excitement. Seeing Ashleigh's expression, Everleigh growled again but was ignored by Ashleigh.

"So mean? Why won't you play with big sis?" Ashleigh leapt forward and both Everleigh and herself collided, this time Everleigh lost her footing and slammed into her Millenium Series X.

Using Ashleigh's initial momentum, Everleigh kicked her upwards and over the car, letting her slender body hit the ground on the other side with a thud, but she knew Ashleigh wasn't done at all.

Sure enough, Ashleigh hopped up and stretched with a grin, knowing although her little sister was usually indifferent, she was also very emotional at times and she loved to provoke her to see her usual calm facade vanish.

"Go away." Everleigh spat and groaned when she saw the door dented by their previous collision with the car. Ashleigh stalked over, her smile growing when she sensed Everleigh's annoyance.
