In the tunnel where George and Albert had passed though came a new guest.
Dressed in pitch-black armor with sporadic sparks bursting from the joints.
Dull, heavy metallic sounds reverberated through the tunnel with every step they took.
On the surface, they looked like a fully-armored dark knight. Their head was covered by a helmet, making it impossible to see their true appearance.
“Was this where the energy fluctuation came from?”
The helmet seemed to have been specially processed as the sound coming from inside was obviously distorted.
“According to Clark, there should be a seal here too.”
Standing at the end of the tunnel, the Black Knight admired the colorful fantasy world beneath the mountain range.
“It’s quite pretty.”
The Black Knight seemed stunned by the mini-world before her.
The light here was not constant. As time passed, the color of the light would change.
Some colors would mix together, giving birth to new colors, while others would refract into multiple colors.
The Black Knight quietly admired all of this.
She did not let the scenery distract her from what she came here for however.
“I can sense the aura of a high order Apostle and Demon God. There doesn’t seem to be a problem here.”
After confirming her location, the Black Knight stepped forward. There was clearly no foothold in front of her, but the Black Knight acted as if she didn’t realize this and continued walking forward.
A miraculous scene occurred. The Black Knight stood in mid-air as if there was solid ground beneath her.
The Black Knight descended downwards as if there was an invisible staircase before her.
The moment the Black Knight reached the bottom, a large number of Rock Serpents emerged, throwing themselves at the Black Knight without care for their own lives.
If Albert were to see this, he would definitely be very surprised. If this was the group of Rock Serpents he had gone up against, perhaps he would have died right from the start.
Large amounts of transmuting mud landed on the Black Knight’s body. The mud quickly solidified, encasing and holding the Black Knight in place.
The Black Knight did not react and remained unmoving like a statue despite being bound and subjected to such wrath.
But the attack of the Rock Serpents wasn’t over yet. The energy within the mud began to corrode the Black Knight.
The material of the Black Knight’s armor began to slowly turn into rock.
“There’s also a corrosive effect to the attack? Not bad.”
A dull sound came from within the armor. Then, sparks emerged from the joints of the Black Knight’s armor and when they touched the rock on the surface, the rocks instantly melted.
It was as if they were placed in a high-temperature environment.
Meanwhile, the Rock Serpents did not cease their attack. After confirming that the Black Knight was sealed away, the Rock Serpents’ bodies flickered with earth-colored magic and a solid rock armor covered their bodies.
This was their other skill [Rock Armor]. This armor had extremely high defense that even standard mythril weapons could not break through.
Next, streams of water gathered and attached themselves to the underbelly of these Rock Serpents.
This was the third skill of the Rock Serpents, [Torrent Protection]. It had the ability to eliminate negative status effects while increasing their speed.
With the support of these two skills, several fully armed Rock Serpents charged towards the Black Knight.
Boom!
The layer of rock encasing the Black Knight exploded the same moment the Rock Serpents struck the knight.
Sensing the force of the attack from her amour, the Black Knight praised from beneath her helmet,
“The strength is acceptable, but this is far from enough.”
Inscriptions appeared on the surface of the black armor. With her as the center, a powerful concussive force emanated from her body.
Boom!
Instantly, all the Rock Serpents around the Black Knight were sent flying.
However, this attack did not break through the Rock Serpent’s defense.
The Rock Serpents shook their heads to shake off the attack. Then they immediately raised their heads and bore into the Black Knight with baleful eyes.
“Nice look.”
The Black Knight extended a hand and aimed it at the Rock Serpent. She flexed her hand downwards slightly and a black halo, accompanied by sparks, spread across her body.
“Go berserk!
“Embrace the color of chaos and become a servant of Yshtal. Fight to death for our eminent cause.”
As though they were prepared for this, the Rock Serpents spewed out transmuting mud once again, erecting walls on their own bodies.
“It’s useless.”
The seemingly tangible halo of light pierced through the stone wall and onto the Rock Serpents.
Crumble!
The stone wall collapsed, revealing the Rock Serpents behind it.
Their crimson eyes filled with madness and savagery.
“Ssss ~“
All the Rock Serpents that were touched by the ring of light now had crimson eyes. They charged towards Yshtal again.
But this time, they stopped a short distance from her.
Then one by one, they all bowed their heads in submission.
Though their eyes were clearly filled with madness and a deep-seated desire for destruction, these Rock Serpents were surprisingly obedient.
“Is it going to be dangerous?”
“Quite. To be honest, at your current level, to have reached this place unscathed is already unbelievable enough.”
Celia knew that this was a subtle reminder from Dionmya about how weak they were.
Celia wasn’t bothered by that however. In fact, she took their weakness for granted. After all, they were still so young.
Their temporary weakness wasn’t a big deal.
The most important thing was to survive.
As for why they were able to arrive here successfully, Celia had some ideas about that.
The image of Albert being chased by a demon flashed through her mind, and Celia mentally expressed her gratitude to Albert before getting up to pack.
Conveniently, George and Siluca had finished their meal at the same moment, so they weren’t surprised by Celia’s behavior.
“Alright, once we’re done packing, let’s leave this place. We don’t have much money left. So I’m going to exchange the supplies we don’t need for money today.”
“Understood.”
George placed Siluca on his shoulder.
“Come, let’s go home!”
Roar!
“Is it okay to be so showy?”
“It’ll be fine. Though Siluca looks like this, it’s strong.”
George understood Celia’s concern, but he didn’t care. He petted Siluca’s head and turned to smile at Celia and said,
“If some bad guy comes, Siluca will give them a nasty surprise.”
Seeing how confident George was, Celia smiled back. But she couldn’t help but think of Dionmya’s figure.
After a moment’s thought, she said, “I still think it’s better to tone things down a bit. If we can attract less trouble, we should.”
The reminder stunned George for a moment, but he didn’t insist on his opinion.
He turned to look at Siluca, who also turned to look at him.
“Roar?“
“Mommy seems to be jealous. So you’re gonna have to take one for the team. Sorry buddy.”
