“That’s enough. Stop thinking about unnecessary things. You don’t have to worry so much anymore.
Also, a gentle reminder. This is your subconscious. If you continue chatting with me here, your little boyfriend’s gonna get worried.”
“Ah!” Celia suddenly raised her head and looked at George, just in time to meet his worried gaze.
“George.”
“Are you alright?”
“Yes, everything’s fine now. Let’s go.”
Celia gathered her emotions quickly and led the way.
“Let’s go back now. I think you’re probably missing Volcano Giant’s Charcoal Roasted Demon Ox Leg, right?”
“You want to eat that?”
She took out her storage box and gestured to George,
“Of course! We had a bountiful harvest this time, so we don’t need to worry about food supplies for a while.”
Celia did not forget to nick a few (many) of the large fruits from the forest on her way out.
She only stopped when both their storage box rings ran out of space.
At Celia’s reminder, George too remembered the current situation and immediately let out a radiant smile..
“That’s great. Siluca! We’re in for such a treat when we get back!
“Has Daddy ever told you? The Charcoal Roasted Demon Ox Leg at Volcano Giant is the best there is. It’s the best Demon Ox Leg Daddy’s ever eaten.”
Roar!
Although Siluca was a newborn, its ability to learn went beyond their imagination.
While it couldn’t speak the human language due to biological limitations, Siluca was already fully capable of comprehending human speech.
Hence, when it heard George talking about food, it couldn’t help but drool.
It’s brilliant emerald eyes were filled with yearning.
“Roar!“
Looking at how impatient Siluca was, George smiled and pressed a finger against its mouth.
“No Siluca. You have to learn self-control. No being impatient. And no trying to get your try by acting cute.”
Seeing the now-pouting Siluca, Celia couldn’t help but comment wryly,
“Seriously, Siluca has completely become a foodie thanks to you. If this keeps up, I feel like we won’t be able to satisfy both your appetites even if we worked our butts off every month.”
“If the pay for being an adventurer is not enough, we can just change jobs.”
George thought nothing of it. He looked at Celia and said,
“It’s not like we became adventurers because we like adventuring.”
That was true. But Celia seemed to have forgotten their original intention of becoming adventurers.
Everything was for the sake of survival.
The only reason why they risked their lives to become adventurers, taking on various missions, was because the monthly pay they earned as adventurers was enough for them to live off of.
They couldn’t do so with other occupations.
However, things were different now. After all these years, both of them had developed various expertise. They had also grown up. Many occupations that were restricted to them due to their age were no longer so.
They could absolutely switch to safer and more profitable professions.
Of course, they could also take on several professions at the same time. As long as they could earn enough money to support themselves, that was enough..
