“Look out!” Jackie cried out, running over and pushing Noh to the ground as Excalibur’s armor-clad body passed overhead before landing on his feet beside where the two canines were lying. Quickly, Jackie reached Luna’s arm out behind her back and grabbed Excalibur by his cape, pulling downwards and slamming the villain’s body against the road. Guess I really am stronger now? Jackie thought.
Noh’s eyes widened. “H-He was actually gonna stab me,” he stammered. “Y-You saved my life!”
The werewolf’s eyes quickly shifted to where Jackie had placed Luna’s hands.
“Uh, Luna…” he smiled, “you might wanna be more careful with where you place your hands?” Noh winked.
Jackie stared down at her hand, which was resting on Noh’s six pack abs, and blushed, pushing Luna’s body off the man’s muscular chest, before offering a hand to Noh and helping him onto his feet as the two backed away from where Excalibur was lying. The knight groaned, slowly pushing his heavily-armored body off the dusty road.
“You life isn’t saved yet!” Excalibur roared, reaching over to reclaim the sword that was lying next to the crater which marked his point of impact with the ground.
“Not so fast!” a voice called out, as a powerful laser zapped Excalibur’s entire body, causing the malicious demon to fall over once again.
“I take it…” he grunted, “that you’re the one who’s been slaying Milady’s familiars?” he leered towards the source of the beam which had stricken him down.
At the end of the road stood a demon who was also a powerful witch. A minotaur. Cattle-like horns poked out from the holes on either side of her brown ten-gallon hat, while the udders on her midriff were exposed by her black and white Holstein-Friesian-patterned bikini, over the bottom of which she wore brown leather chaps and accompanying cowgirl boots. Her outlandish outfit was topped off by a fittingly absurd choker with a cowbell attached and a sheriff's badge on her left breast.
“That’s right,” the witch responded. “The name’s Marissa Keane! Defender of all justice in Old King Hamlet and Phantasia as a whole!”
Excalibur gritted his teeth as he struggled to stand up, “How dare you?!” he snarled, “Milady Kuro rescued those familiars, trained them to be the best they could be!”
Marissa clutched the brim of her cowboy hat, shrouding her eyes cooly in shadow. “Good freakin’ grief…” the minotaur sighed. “While Vladimir is on guard duty…” she pushed her hat up, revealing her enraged expression, “anyone who threatens the residents of Old King Hamlet…” she held out the broom she was carrying and fired another laser from atop the handle, “will ‘ave t’ answer to me.”
Excalibur jumped back as the haphazardly fired ray hit the ground just in front of his metal boots. He looked over his shoulder as a black hole opened up behind him.
“It seems that’s my cue…” he grinned, initiating a moonwalk towards the dark vortex, “I now know the identity of Milady’s enemies…” Excalibur said, his body being enveloped by the black hole before disappearing along with it.
Marissa put one hand on her hip and scratched her head.
“You saved me!” the innocent townsman from earlier called out, causing Marissa to turn to acknowledge him.
“It was noth-” she beamed, before opening her eyes and pausing.
“No problem!” Jackie replied to the man who had thanked her for defeating Excalibur.
Marissa folded her arms and scoffed, “Who the ‘ell is she?!”

“She…” a voice answered, “is my kinkind warrior.”
Marissa turned around to see Sumire waving at her.
“I might’ve known…” she muttered, “I ‘ope y’know what yer doin’, Shakespeare?”
“Me too,” Sumire slyly responded, as Marissa tipped her hat in disapproval. “Well, away I go! Stay alert! You never know when another one of Kuro’s minions will strike!” Sumire said, vanishing into one of her purple vortexes, as Marissa slowly walked away.
“Luna,” Noh ran over to Jackie and wrapped his burly arms around her kinkind’s body, “You did it! You saved me and the hamlet!”
“I can’t take all the credit!” Jackie smiled, “thank that girl in the Friesian swimsuit!”
“So…” Noh fumbled before reaching into his open shirt, pulling out a slip of paper and handing it to Jackie, “I’m having a party…” he said.
Jackie took the invite from Noh’s hands.
“I was wondering…” the werewolf smiled, “as thanks for saving me…”
Jackie smiled, stuffing the invitation card into Luna’s skirt, “Sure,” she smiled, “I don’t see why not.” Kabuki will probably be happy to have me out of his hair for a while, she thought.
A dark room, mostly empty aside from the presence of a giant theater stage. A black hole opened up stage-right, dumping Excalibur onto the proscenium’s wooden apron as a spotlight shined on him from out of nowhere and the curtains before his eyes opened up on their own. Standing center-stage shrouded in darkness was a woman not dissimilar in appearance to Sumire Shakespeare. Lady Kuro. Her black and red outfit seemed to combine elements of a fancy dress witch costume with that of its pirate counterpart. In place of an eye-patch, she wore a half-mask which covered her left eye, and rather than the usual skull-and-crossbones, her tricorne instead sported the symbol of Sock and Buskin.
“Milady Kuro,” Excalibur bended his knee before his mistress, “I was unable to defeat the witch responsible for slaying my fellow familiars…” he looked up to his leader, “please accept my most humble of apologies.”
“Oh, dear, Excalibur…” Kuro leered, walking over to her knight and resting her hand underneath his chin, “failure wilt not beest tolerated.” The witch removed her hand as Excalibur hung his head in shame. “I assume thither wast a reason thee hath lost against that tengu?”
Excalibur nodded, “Milady, that tengu…” he began, “she was a kinkind! I’m sure of it!”
The dark witch folded her arms behind her long red cape and turned her back to her follower.
“Well, well... forsooth Lady Shakespeare hath finally hath decided to maketh her own move.”
