Chapter 48: Chapter 47

Suddenly the students all heard a scream coming from above them. They looked up in the air and saw a body falling, landing straight into the pool.

High on the influence was no more what they were. The females around screamed and some of the guys jumped into the pool to save who it was.

The guy who jumped in first stopped in front of the boy and recognized him. Halo stared at him too with the knife in his hand and frowned. He was so angry right now and here he was surrounded by so many people he associated with.

The guys grabbed him and pulled him out of the pool by his arms and he started coughing the water out.

“Halo what the fuck?” Craig asked as he helped Halo up and hugged him. Halo looked into his brown eyes as he cupped his face and was searching his face for signs of something.

Yousseff looked at the knife in Halo’s hand that had blood on it and asked, “Whose blood is that?”

Halo got up pushing Craig away who looked at him worried and walked through the doors of the building leaving everyone stunned and confused.

The security guards came running over after hearing the screams and saw Halo walking into the building with the knife.

Just as he reached the elevator Romeo came from the staircase and saw him standing there, “Halo!” He yelled loudly.

Halo caught a fright and looked to the left at Romeo and gripped the knife in his hand. Stalking towards Romeo, he pulled his hand back and made to stab him but Romeo caught his wrist, “You motherfucker! How could you throw me over the balcony like that?”

Glaring into his green orbs Romeo said, “I thought you needed to cool off.”

“What is going on here?” Craig said, seeing the knife. His friends were with too and the wounds on his body was clearly from Halo stabbing him or else why would the knife have blood on it?

Romeo looked over at them and asked Craig, “Didn’t I tell you to stay the fuck out of my business?”

“Halo, what happened?” He asked, ignoring Romeo.

Romeo looked down at Halo and he could tell that Romeo was getting angry. Halo turned to them and smiled, “Just leave it okay. It’s between us.”

With that, Romeo grabbed him by the arm and entered the elevator. He pressed on floor eight and the door closed. The silence annoyed Halo who was agitated and said, “You need to leave, I told you that I want nothing to do with you.”

“And I came here to celebrate our birthday, why can’t you understand that?” Romeo asked.

“All you are doing is ruining it for me,” he answered.

The doors dinged and opened. He dragged Halo to the apartment and walked through the door that was already open. Shutting it with his feet he saw Halo’s roommate standing one side looking at them.

He pulled the knife out of his hand and threw it towards the kitchen and threw Halo on the floor. Stradling him, he locked Halo’s hands above his head and said, “I fucking love you and I will never stop do you hear me.”

“I don’t want to be with you anymore! You made me do so much shit that I can’t run from and now you are back in my life for what? To fuck it up again?” Halo yelled at him.

Staring into his eyes he could see that Halo was hurt, but all of the things that happened in their past moulded them into being the people that they were today and it was for the better.

He let go of his hands and asked, “Would you rather be happy with me dead?”

“What?” Halo asked. Things started slowing down around them. The past reflected in front of him and he started tearing up, shaking his head he said, “You know that is not what I mean.”

“Then why are you treating me like this? You are ruining yourself too with drugs Halo, this is not you,” Romeo said, trying to reason with him.

“I know,” Halo said, covering his face and started crying.

There was a knock on the door and Romeo climbed off of him. He went to the door and looked through the peephole and saw two police officers standing there with Craig, Youssef and the security guards.

Romeo opened the door and asked, “What can I do for you gentlemen.”

“We were called about a complaint. You threw one of the students out of a window.” One of the police officers said.

Romeo looked at him confused and said, “I think you have the wrong person.”

“Then explain why you are bleeding, who did that to you?” The other asked.

Halo quickly wiped his tears away and got up, he walked to the door and hugged him. He looked at the men outside and saw Craig, “What don’t you get, didn’t I tell you to leave us alone?”

“Halo, why are you defending this maniac?” Craig asked.

He stepped in front of Romeo and folded his hands over his chest and said, “I think I forgot to mention this. My name is Mr Halo Romeo Washington, this man here is my husband.”

Craig’s eyes widened in disbelief, his heart started beating irregularly as he recalled the kiss they shared and asked, “How is that possible?”

Halo ignored him and asked, “Officers, what seems to be the problem here?”

The partners looked at each other confused then at the security guard and one said, “We received a complaint that one of you was holding a knife and assaulted the other.”

“That is just our kinky role play before we have sex and you all just ruined the mood,” Halo answered annoyed.

“If that is the case then I see no need in pursuing this further,” the other said. They thanked Halo for his time who slammed the door in their face and turned to Romeo who was touching his wound.

“You’re married?!” Candice screeched from behind them. She came in not long after Romeo left and saw that the place was a mess, the coffee table was broken and there was blood on the floor.

Halo sighed and looked at Romeo. He ran his hand over the wound on his chest and said, “You need to go to the hospital.”

“Hospital?” Romeo scoffed and was about to sit on the couch but Halo grabbed him by the hand and dragged him to his room.

“Who’s going to clean up this shit?” Candice asked.

No one answered her. Halo took Romeo to the bedroom and took out the medical aid kit. He pulled Romeo’s shorts off and started treating the stab wound. He cleaned up the others too and said, “If you’re not going to the hospital then get the doctor to help you, the one on your leg is bleeding too much.”

Looking at him, Romeo asked, “What about the one in my heart Mr Clelland-Washington? It hasn’t healed yet.”

Halo sighed clueless, He didn’t know what to do.
