Chapter 6: Chapter 5

Romeo smiled saying, “Halo, you need to rest and I need to get to school, do you want anything?”

Halo looked at him confused and shook his head, “No why?”

“I did say we should work on our project after school, right?” Romeo reminded him. Halo had a moment of realization and nodded his head. He climbed back onto the bed and let Romeo tuck him in.

Romeo leaned down and kissed him on the forehead and said, “You have my number if you need anything okay? Now rest, I’ll be back here after school and you better be healthy.”

Halo scoffed and snuggled into the bed. Romeo pulled out his phone to look at the time then said, “You know what? I’ll stay until you fall asleep.” He climbed into bed with Halo and wrapped his arms around him. Halo lay against his chest finding him really comfortable especially with his intoxicating smell.

‘But he is crazy, he choked me,’ Halo’s subconsciousness reminded him. Halo’s eyes snapped open and he looked at the hoodie, his eyes trailed up to Romeo’s neck and it met the milk chocolate skin.

He slowly raised his hand and rubbed it against his neck. Romeo’s eyes opened when he moved and saw what Halo was doing, he sighed and said, “If we’re going to be together, you might want to get used to that, I can get real rough when I lose my temper.”

“I don’t see this going anywhere,” Halo said, “And why would you lay your hand on someone you are with?”

“Choking during sex can be a certain type of pleasure,” Romeo explained. Halo shook his head in response, “No and don’t make it a habit, I’m giving my virginity up to my husband.”

Romeo chuckled at the word husband and it did not sound like a bad idea but it was something for the future. He ran his hand up and down Halo’s back slowly which made him fall asleep.

He pulled his phone out, took Halo’s hand in his and took a picture of it. He looked at it and loved the contrast between their skin. His lips spread into a smile and he lowered his body down and hugged Halo. He took a picture of them after he set the timer and closed his eyes.

He felt butterflies in his stomach after he took the picture and looked at it. He set it straight as his wallpaper and sent it to Halo’s phone. He kissed Halo three times behind his ear then heard a knock on the door.

He looked over as it slowly opened and his eyes widened when he saw that it was Angela. Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw how they were laying and she asked, “Did he wake up?”

Romeo nodded his head awkwardly but realised that Angela barely knew who he was so he did not need to hide. He nodded his head, “Yes but he just fell asleep.”

Angela nodded her head and asked, “So are going to school or not? I can’t have you skipping school now for my son, he wouldn’t do that for your sake.”

Romeo chuckled saying, “I’d prefer it too that he doesn’t choose me over his education.”

She nodded her head and closed the door. A smile crept up on her face and she looked at her daughter who followed her up and said, “Let’s get your pretty little self to school.”

Heaven nodded her head and left with her mother.

After the car pulled out of the driveway, Romeo kissed Halo again then got up. He closed him and left the house, making sure to lock up where he could.

He arrived at the school and the parking lot was packed but his space was reserved. As he switched his car off, a red-haired, tan-skinned petite boy walked past his car. He recognised him as Halo’s friend from all his posts.

His friend’s Justin and Adrian walked over to his car and he noticed that Justin kept his eyes on the red-haired boy. Romeo smirked as he climbed out of his car and locked it after taking his bag. He clapped up with his boys and asked, “So you thinking of cheating on your girl?” Directing the question to Justin.

Justin was surprised that he got caught and shook his head, “It’s all in your damn head boy, where you been, you were supposed to get your ass here an hour ago.”

“I got caught up in some bullshit, yo, let’s head in,” Adrian said as he saw one of their friends approach them. Romeo looked at the boy approaching and shook his head when Adrian grabbed his bag firmly and look away when they did not move and he came closer.

“Whats up Mase!” Justin howled and clapped him up. Romeo followed and did the same and Adrian forced a smile and clapped Mason up.

Mason wrapped his arm around Adrian’s neck on purpose who stiffened. He smirked at Romeo and said, “Shit bro, yo ass almost didn’t make it to school.”

Romeo shook his head, “Let’s talk later, all three of us.”

Adrian looked at him and said, “I am your best friend but you never tell me anything. Do you want our friendship to end?”

Romeo pouted and hugged Adrian pushing Mason away, “Na you know I love you brother, let’s go and leave these motherfuckers behind.”

Adrian couldn’t help his smile and walk at the same pace as Romeo who couldn’t help himself by smirking, this whiteboy was really childish and cute when he wanted to be.

Cute.

Mason and Justin looked at each other then followed behind them as Mason said, “Adrian, your ass don’t need a man like Romeo in your life, he can’t handle you.”

Adrian remained silent but Romeo turned around to look at Mason and gave him a, ‘Are you fucking kidding me,’ look that Mason returned with a shrug.

They reached their lockers and Justin saw the red-haired boy again and frowned, deciding to look away from him. He licked his lips as he turned and met Romeo’s disapproving stare.

“What?” Justin asked him.

Shaking his head Romeo changed the subject, “Are things still on for next week?”

Justin nodded his head, “But I don’t know who is cooking, I’m set for grilling but y’all fatasses want mac and cheese and no one we know makes it good enough.”

Romeo rubbed his chin for a moment as he thought about it then said, “I might have someone but I don’t know.”

Justin shrugged and smirked when he saw his girlfriend walking over. She was with Mason’s girlfriend and Romeo’s ex Nicola. When Romeo saw them he saw Adrian’s girlfriend come over too and heard him groan beside his ear.

Romeo turned to him and smirked saying, “If you’re tired then you should end it.”

Adrian raised a brow as he looked at his best friend and wondered what he was talking about. He spread his arms and hugged his girlfriend, let her kiss him then walked off taking her to her class.

Romeo clapped up his boys and left heading towards the gym where the meeting was being held. He sat down on one of the chairs and waited since he was the first to arrive and his eyes closed.

His head slowly dropped forward as he thought of his little experience from this morning and how sensational his hands felt after touching Halo in all the places he did.

“What’s with the smile?” Mason asked, sitting down beside him.

Romeo’s head snapped up and he glared at Mason. Mason quickly held up his hands to show that he was not a threat, “Sorry for scaring you.”

Romeo’s expression loosened and he nodded, “What was your question?”

Mason relaxed in his chair and placed his bag down beside him, pulling out his phone he asked, “What’s with your smile, you seem happy, an emotion that you barely show?”

Romeo smirked it off and sat up properly, he looked ahead at their coach who was walking around in his office. “Yeah, I picked up someone yesterday and I think my ass is in love.”

Mason looked at him as though he was ridiculous, “Shit homeboy, you were never in love with Nicola so how is this possible?”

Chuckling Romeo shook his head and said, “That’s a discussion we’ll have another day.”

Soon the gym filled with bodies and the meeting was on. Romeo could barely listen to what was being said but at least he knew what it was about. Their basketball team was heading towards the championships but because of the recent flux of drugs into the school, they have to monitor the boys, thanks to the board members.

“Aight,” Mason said, snapping Romeo out of his thoughts. He looked around confused and saw that everyone was getting ready to head back to class but for him, he was free basically the rest of today.

Romeo stood up and asked, “What did I miss?”

Both Justin and Mason looked at him oddly and Mason said, “Drug test on Monday, everyone should be here and shit will be fine. Further instructions after that.”

“I’ve lost my damn mind,” Romeo said and walked off. His friends agreed that he lost his mind but did not verbally agree to it.

Mrs Hendrickson looked at Romeo confused, “Are you sure that you want to be partnered with Halo and not one of your friends?”

Romeo nodded his head and said, “Yes, we have both agreed on it. Halo would have confirmed it with me if he hadn’t caught a cold but if you want we can come see you on Monday when he is feeling better.”

She shook her head and typed into her laptop as she said, “No it is fine. I’ll trust your word on it, have you and Halo decided on your format yet?”

Romeo shook his head, “We decided on the partnership last night. After school, we’ll start with it if he is feeling up to it.”

She nodded her head and handed him a sheet where he needed to fill in and it had the requirements on it. He thanked her and disappeared putting the paper in his backpack.

As he walked through the hallway, he ran into Nicola who didn't waste any time and asked, "When are you going to beat this pussy in?"

Romeo smirked and looked around, "If you're free now, we can fuck in the usual spot, just give me ten minutes, I have something to do."

Nicola licked her lips and ran her arms up his chest, she had to go to class but now, she was skipping class all so that she could work her way back into his heart not knowing that Romeo wouldn't do the same for her.
