Chapter 8: Chapter 7

He was literally a cab driver for his friends and didn't mind it but he remembered that he asked Halo if he wanted him to bring him anything. Romeo made sure to blast his music so that no one could bring up the topic of him dating.

After dropping his friends off, he stopped at a local restaurant that he made sure to make a mental note to bring Halo here but then again, would Halo even want him even after being so forceful with him?

Romeo really had so much to think about and consider with his job too. Halo could be in danger but he was here to protect him but sometimes you never know.

Reaching the counter he ordered chicken strips, a few chicken burgers with chips and chicken wraps. Not sure if Halo was a vegan he decided to order a vegan burger and vegan wrap. If Halo didn't like them he could always give them to his sister who eats everything.

His order took about twenty minutes to prepare and cost him eighty dollars. 

Scrolling through his feed, he saw that Halo uploaded pictures of stuff that would be sold for Valentine's day, 'How would it be if I bought you all the stuff you made Halo?' he wondered.

Valentine's day was around the corner and he was asked to be multiple peoples Valentine but now, 'Should I ask Halo to be my Valentine?' he thought.

Scrolling through his contacts he dialled his sister’s number.

She answered after a few rings, "Hey handsome."

"Good afternoon, I want to ask someone out but we recently met and I don’t want to scare him, should I rather just ask him to be my Valentine for now?" Romeo cut to the chase.

His sister was baffled by the ‘him’ part. He never asked her about these types of things nor did she know he was into dudes, they definitely needed to speak about this when they get home, "You're a shitty brother what makes you think you'll make a good boyfriend?"

Romeo remained silent for a while and waited. His sister felt like throwing her phone away but spoke, "Just ask him to be your Valentine, for now, you need to take him out on multiple dates too before asking him out, you need to get to know each other first Rome."

"Thanks," he said and ended the call. His poor sister felt the life drain from her soul after the call but was happy because she is a gay fangirl. 

Grabbing his order he left and went to the drug store and got fever tonics for Halo.

Romeo made a stop at the mall and went to the candy store but was completely disappointed when he saw that there weren't any romantic candies yet.

He made a beeline for the next shop and stopped when he spotted a blue teddy bear in the window of one of the stores that were the size of an eight-year-old. He grinned and walked into the store and purchased it.

Heading to a multi-purpose store that had a Valentine’s sale going on. He stood in the candy aisle and couldn't make up his mind. After a moment, he brought over a shopping basket and put inside many boxes of chocolates, Turkish delights and biscuits, slabs of chocolate and Valentine's themed candies and gummy sweets.

The employee who cashed up his items grew jealous, not only was this person handsome, he was also emptying the store for his girlfriend.

After a moment Romeo frowned, he bought all of this shit but it's being placed in a plastic bag, "Don't you sell fancy bags, I can’t give Halo this in a plastic bag, I'm trying to be romantic here."

The employee looked at him speechlessly, pointing behind him she said, "Sir, there are many gift bags in aisle three."

Romeo raised a brow at her then walked away. Walking into aisle three, he looked around but still wasn’t happy.

There wasn't one big enough to hold that fucking bear in it. Groaning he walked down the rest of the aisle and his eyes sparkled when he saw Alice bands with fluffy bunny ears and cat ears.

He chose three of them and went back to the tills, placing it down he said, "Never mind, ring these up."

The employee did as she was told and took his card from him.

He paid and went from store to store until he found an oversized gold and red gift bag. When he got to his car, he placed the bear inside it along with the Alice bands and many chocolates and sweets he bought, until it was full.

On his way to Halo's place, he stopped by the store to purchase a six-pack of German beer, flavoured water and fruit juices.

Arriving at Halo's place, he was greeted by Halo who was glaring at him, "What happened?" he asked.

Romeo raised a clueless brow and said, "Alright, help me with this shit first, there are a few more things on the back seat, grab it so long while I place this in the fridge," he said holding up the beer.

Halo stepped out of the house with his shorts getting eaten by his bum and thigh high stockings that didn't go unnoticed by Romeo.

Halo soon returned with the gold and red gift bag in both his hands looking at Romeo suspiciously. Romeo grinned, "Wow baby boy, did you get that for me? Thank you so much," he teased.

Halo rolled his eyes. He saw what was inside and it was the only thing on the backseat, "Haha very funny, what must I do with this?" He asked him.

Romeo stepped closer and cupped his face, looking into Halo's eyes he asked, "Will you be my Valentine?"

Halo looked up at him blankly but was jumping around inside screaming, ‘YAASSSS BITCH.’

Clearing his throat he said, "Alright."

Romeo smiled and leaned down and kissed Halo's forehead, "Thanks for not rejecting me."

Halo huffed and went upstairs grumbling, "Who knows what you'll do if I say no especially after this morning."

Sitting down at the dining table he unpacked everything onto it. Halo came down and looked at everything on the table, with a raised brow he asked, "Why'd you order so much chicken?"

Romeo chuckled, "I'm not really a burger fan and I don't know what you like, pick what you want and I'll eat the rest except that vegan shit!" He said pointing to the two on the side.

Halo glared at it too saying, "Who's gonna eat it if we don't?"

Romeo shrugged and grabbed a chicken burger handing it to Halo who walked over to the microwave to warm it up, "My sister," he answered making Halo nod as he shoved chicken strips, wraps and two burgers in the microwave.

Romeo stared at him from behind and felt himself grow uncomfortable, clearing his throat he looked away, "I told the teachers in charge that we partnered up, you need to confirm it on Monday," he said.

Halo hummed as he walked over, "Sure."

Romeo thanked him when he placed a plate down with the chicken burger, chicken strips and a wrap in front of him.

Romeo reached over and grabbed himself a beer. Halo sat down beside him and looked at him suspiciously as he asked, "How long have you been drinking?"

He smirked, "It’s been two years now but don't worry, I don't drink until I'm drunk."

Halo nodded and started eating, "Did you like the brownies?"

"Yeah it wasn't sweet, are those cakes mine?" Romeo asks pointing to the four cakes on the kitchen counter that were in clear containers.

Halo looked at him and asked, "Do you want them all?"

He shrugged, "Your mother did say I should fetch the cake after school," thinking for a moment he asked, "Where is your mom?"

Halo sighed, "I'm home alone this weekend, my dad has a business trip and we all were supposed to go but I caught the flu."

"Home alone? Aren't you afraid?" He asks concerned.

Halo shook his head, "Nah, there were many other times when I had to stay alone so it’s cool and I'm not that sick so I will be alright."

Romeo gave it a thought and asked, "Should I stay over until they come back?"

Halo stared at him sceptical, "Why?"

Romeo opened his mouth to say something but he didn't have an answer for him that seemed logical. Tilting his head to the side Halo smirked, he got up and straddled him who stared up at him shocked.

Halo could feel the bulge he was sitting on and looked at Romeo amused whose ears were turning warm under his dark skin.

Wrapping his arms around Romeo's neck, he said while slowly grinding against him who sucked in a deep breath, "Mr Romeo Washington, you're such a naughty boy."

"H-Halo st-stop," Romeo gritted through his teeth.

Halo smirked and started moving slightly faster circling his hips, licking up Romeo's neck he said in a seductive voice, "If you really wanted me to stop you wouldn't be gripping my ass for dear life."

Romeo glared at Halo, "If you don't stop this we'll end up having sex!"

Looking into his eyes Halo smirked then got off, sitting back down in his seat with crossed legs, he said, "I'm saving my virginity for my husband so you better keep that thing of yours to yourself!"

Romeo grumbled something under his breath then continued eating.

After a while, he looked over at Halo who was playing with his phone and stuffing his mouth and asked, "Did you delete your pictures?"

Halo looked at him momentarily then nodded, "Yeah but my followers aren't happy about it."

Romeo scoffed, ‘Fuck them if they think they can look at what’s mine,’ he thought.

Realizing what he just thought, he choked on his chicken burger.

Halo looked at him with a raised brow, “How did you choke?” He looked away embarrassed, “Nothing.”

Halo shrugged his shoulder and placed his phone down. The two ate in silence for some time before Romeo thought of their project but look at Halo and said something irrelevant, “You’re named Halo and your sister Heaven?”

Halo smirked, “My grandfather named us, the one who passed on. He thought of his unborn grandchildren as his angels so my mother named us Halo and Heaven.”

Resting his chin on his hand, Romeo smiled, “I love your name.”

Halo looked at Romeo surprised, then blushed, “Thank you.”

Halo wrapped up everything and packed the uneaten food into the fridge with the leftover beer and soft drinks.

Romeo just hung up on the phone with his mother, informing her that he’d be sleeping this weekend over at Halo’s and would fetch a change of clothes after basketball practice tomorrow.

He walked into Halo’s room, coming face to face with, Halo’s rear that was propped up as he bent down. Romeo could feel himself harden again, “Fuck!” He cursed. Halo shot up and looked at Romeo confused and asked, “What happened?”

He groaned and turned around, walking out of the room he said frustrated, “Nothing.”

Halo shook his head, this person was so odd in person. Romeo walked down the steps and rested on the couch, ‘How can everything he does and says turn me on?’
