I stood in front of the door to the church, and I was terribly worried. My whole body was trembling, and my heart was beating loudly. I held my dad's arm and looked at him nervously.

“Are you ready, daughter?”

“No. I'm scared.” I muttered.

“So you’re definitely ready.” Papa laughed.

He opened the door, and we entered a hall decorated with flowers and ribbons. Aiden was standing near the altar and smiling when I saw him. My heart beat even faster. Sarah also made a dress for my wedding. It was the most beautiful in the world, with gold embroidery and open shoulders. My bouquet was made up of hydrangea flowers, which my mother loved so much.

The Pope immediately gave his blessing as soon as Aiden asked for it. We weren't able to get married until a few months later because Aiden wanted me to make a full recovery, and we set a date right after my birthday. Even the imperial family was present at our wedding. We wanted a quiet celebration, but dad refused.

"Take care of her." Dad smiled at Aiden.

"Certainly." The magician immediately frowned, and I laughed softly. It was like he was taking orders.

Aiden and I held hands and looked at each other. The priest began to speak and then delivered his piece.

"Now the bride and groom will swear an oath."

I instantly smiled and squeezed his hands. We simultaneously began to utter the words of the oath.

"I swear by the light to love and protect you, in wealth and poverty, in sickness and health, until death do us part."

"Now exchange rings, an ancient and sacred symbol, as a reminder that your love is endless." The priest held out a small pillow with rings.

"Your hands are trembling." I smiled at Aiden.

"You too." He chuckled.

The priest also laughed softly. After exchanging rings, Aiden and I kissed. He grabbed my arms and twirled me around. Applause swept through the church. This was the happiest day of my life. Joy filled my heart. After the ceremony, a banquet began at the estate. It turned out that Aiden did have a couple of friends, and they were a bit rowdy when they were drunk. Now I understand why the brothel was protected from magic. Aiden took me away from everyone, took my hand, and carried us to the tower.

"Today you look more beautiful than ever." He smiled warmly and led me along.

We went to the bedroom. Aiden snapped his fingers, and the candles lit up, neatly placed around the room. I noticed that there were also purple roses in the room, the very ones he gave me. The moon shone through the window. It was beautiful, and its gentle light penetrated the room.

"When did you prepare all this?"

"I just thought that we would need a place where no one would interfere with us." He smiled, ran his fingers down my cheek, gently lifted me up, and laid me on the bed.

Aiden leaned in and kissed me. The kiss was gentle and light at first, but soon it became more insistent. He pulled me close, deepening our kiss. His deft fingers unbuttoned the buttons on my back. As soon as Aiden touched my bare back, goosebumps ran through my body. He helped me take off my dress and looked at me carefully.

I ran my hand along his cheek. He took my hand, kissed it, and then retook possession of my lips. He was in no hurry, as if he had been waiting for this moment for a long time. His hands wandered over my naked body, causing a crazy desire. Moving his lips along the neck to the collarbone, he ran his hand along my thigh. When he took off the last piece of clothing from me, I felt that my knees were trembling.

“Do not be afraid. Do you believe me?” Aiden looked at me tenderly.

I nodded to him. He took off his shirt with a smile, followed by his trousers. His body was so beautiful, with sculpted muscles and perfect abs. The scars only served to adorn him more. He pressed my body to him again, giving me a sensual kiss, and warmth spread throughout my body. All his muscles were tense. He was also worried, but he tried to calm me down. Aiden kissed me tenderly. He lifted my leg higher, and I gave myself completely to him. He moved slowly, as if afraid to step back and hurt me. I went crazy with sensations and feelings. He lured me into his captivity. That night we became one.

Four years later, Aiden and I had a daughter, Diana. She had his eyes and the same funny frown as Aiden, but the hair colour was mine. Pregnancy and childbirth were complicated because my body was weakened because of poisoning. Now we lived in our own house near the magic tower. Nina also lived with us. Sometimes Aiden and I fought, but we made up quickly. Most often, this was because of Diana. Our daughter was also magical and had a rather short temper, so we always got in trouble.

Mikael became a worthy ruler and cancelled the order that the children of magicians be taken to the front. He married a princess from a neighbouring country, thereby expanding the empire. They had two children, but the relationship was rather aloof. Keane married Sarah. Their son was two years younger than Diana. Alex never came home, but he sent my parents and me letters once a month. Falling in love was very easy, but finding a person who would love you back was much more difficult.

The End.
