Zuri had been waiting for Chaos to return. She waited in the backyard, while staring at the full moon. Actually, she didn't feel safe at home, since she was not sure whether there would be more people like that young man who came earlier or not.
Moreover, Chaos would find her the moment he came, it was not like he would walk through the front door like any normal human.
Someone, aside from them, knew this place and this thought bothered her. Was it Aaron?
"What are you doing here, Blue?"
Zuri jolted in her seat and whipped her head around toward the source of the voice, his familiar scent was mixed with cold night breeze and something burnt.
"Chaos," Zuri smiled at him. She stood up, but still wrapped her body with the blanket that she took from their bedroom.
"You should be inside." Chaos tightened the blanket around her body and kissed her temple. He treated her more gently every day, but his eyes were getting darker. They were almost like charcoal.
"I am waiting for you."
"You can wait for me inside."
"I know you will find me wherever I am," Zuri grinned, as she didn't back down from this silly argument. "There is something I want to show you."
"Let's talk inside." Chaos smiled at her and then took her inside.
Zuri wanted to ask about the burning smell that came from him, but she was distracted because there was another thing that she needed to tell him as soon as possible.
Zuri led Chaos to their bedroom and took something from the drawer. "Someone came and gave me this, he is a young man and a human, but I think the person who gave him the task is a shifter." Zuri gave Chaos the note and also the ball of fur that was tied to a small rope. "I am sure this is the fur of a wolf... werewolf..."
Zuri looked at Chaos's expression, she thought he would get it immediately, but at the sight of his impassive face, she explained further why this was unusual.
"If I am not wrong, I think this is the fur of a white wolf, I can be mistaken though and this is only a normal white wolf's fur," Zuri said, hoping she would get any sort of reaction from him, yet Chaos wasn't even surprised to see it.
"I see..." he said, as he looked at the fur closely.
"I see?" Zuri furrowed her brows. She studied him again, but still, there was no other reaction from him. "You know where this fur came from?"
"Yes." Chaos lifted his head from the fur in his hand and then looked at Zuri. "You are right, this is a white werewolf's fur." nove/LB-1n
"You don't seem surprised, do you know this will happen?"
"Yes."
Zuri was not always with Chaos, even when they travelled together for years, sometimes, he would leave her alone, because there were a few complicated things that he needed to do all by himself.
"You know where the white wolf pack is? Did you look for them?"
Never in a million years did this idea cross her mind that Chaos would look for the white wolf pack. It was confirmed that Zuri got the genes from her mother's side and the white wolves were almost extinct, which forced them to live in a secluded and hidden place.
But, why did Chaos look for them?
"Yes."
"Why?"
Zuri thought she would know at least half of what he was thinking, but that thought had been proven so wrong, because she didn't know what was in his mind.
"It is time for you to learn your roots."
"Why are you like this all of a sudden?" Not to mention her roots, she didn't even know what her mother looked like. She died after she gave birth to her and then she was on the run with her father, to be away from the green people.
Her father died and she was caught in her wolf form and that was the end of it. She didn't have any interest in finding out more about her roots or her family, as long as she knew Chaos and the others were her family, even the annoying Skylar, it was enough.
Well, she could tolerate her if she had to.
"Why did you even look for the white wolf pack?"
"Because it is time, Blue," Chaos said, he extended his hand and caressed her cold cheek. Not long after that, her body became warm. "They sent me the answer."
This fur was the answer for his request and they wanted her to return.
"Time for what?" Zuri didn't like it when Chaos said that, because she felt like this was the time that she feared the most. The time that she didn't want to come at all.
"Let's put an end to this." Chaos chuckled when he looked at the deep furrow between her brows. "Don't think too much. Aaron has the whole organization and more than half of my remaining shattered souls in his hand, don't you think we need to do something to counter that?"
Chaos didn't even remind her that Knox was in a precarious state, since July and his daughter that he had never seen was in Aaron's hands.
But, Zuri knew about that so well.
"We need to leave now."
"What about Norbeat and Killian?" Zuri was reluctant to go to the white wolf pack, for what reason should she go there? Chaos didn't even tell her the purpose for them to go there.
"Gael and Knox will handle it."
Chaos's eyes flickered to red and this made Zuri gasp. He needed his shattered soul...

"What is Chaos thinking by sending us here? Seriously, this is the worst team ever," Gael couldn't stop grumbling as he drove the car. He glanced at Knox, who was sitting next to him and Skylar, who was in the backseat.
The car was so silent and the tension between them was very suffocating. Gael knew about Knox's problem and how he was holding back himself right now, but he had never been on good terms with Skylar and to send the three of them together on a mission was really a bad idea.
"At least, give me Zuri..." Gael sighed deeply.
"Drive and stop talking," Skylar grumbled when she heard him mention Zuri. She was still holding a grudge against Zuri for various reasons and one of those included the incident where she clawed her face years ago.
"You should be the one who is driving," Gael complained. "Can't you see? I am older than you."
"I am older than you, Gael. Knox is even way older than me," Skylar corrected him.
"Yeah, thanks to your supernatural creature blood, but by appearance, both of you look like my children," Gael stated the fact bitterly, while the two of them looked at him in disgust. "What? It's an honor to be my children, I am not a bad person."
"That's the bluntest and shameless thing that I have ever heard," Skylar commented. She folded her arms and closed her eyes, deciding to take a nap before they arrived at the destination.
Because this silence was so uncomfortable, Gael turned on the music, only for Knox to turn it off again.
"Be quiet," Knox said grimly, he had been in a very, very bad mood since yesterday, thus Gael didn't try to get on his nerves this time.
"Damn, I feel like I am going to die," Gael grumbled and cursed under his breath, but then he was silent until they arrived at their destination.
"Stop it."
"Be quiet Gael."
This was the worst trip ever for Gael, but he clamped his mouth shut and then drove to the heart of the organization. They needed to move fast once they started this and Gael wanted to reserve his energy for that moment, after all, he was no longer young anymore.
It took them around two hours to be able to reach their destination and they parked the car a little bit away from this area.
"Ugh, I am already so old for a mission like this," Gael grumbled, as he felt his hips kill him after driving for two hours without stopping.
"Stop complaining about being old, you don't need to tell me about it because I already can see it, so shut up and start moving," Skylar said harshly. She patted Gael's shoulder. "If something happened to you, I will bury you, don't worry."
"Shut up," Gael grumbled. "I still want to see River." He went to East Draghar against River's wishes, as his daughter wanted him to stay there and stay away from the trouble.
However, the thought of getting even with the organization before he got any older than this and couldn't do much, was very tempting.
Gael still couldn't let go of his grudge against the organization that had kidnapped his daughter for years, even though he had killed Archie, Sol's father, it was Sol that he wanted to kill.
He was the one, who had separated him and Lise from River and put his daughter through the worst experience ever since her childhood.
"You can't use your power Knox, unless it is an emergency and at the right time, we don't want Aaron to be alarmed and intervene with this." Skylar reminded Knox, but he said nothing and walked ahead of them. "I agree with you. This is the worst team ever," Skylar grumbled.
"I told you. I will be lucky if we get out of here alive," Gael replied.
