Chapter 535 IF YOU KEEP DOING THIS, I WILL MISUNDERSTAND YOU
'Don't you remember me?'
That was the first thing that Gael asked Vanesha when they met for the first time after the fall of Fokosa city, the old capital city of the Artzees country, because the most powerful creature, Chaos, razed the city, followed by a lot of supernatural creatures, who then took over the whole city.
She had been living in Lucinda city for a year then and her life was so miserable when Gael found her.
Nikolai had to join the organization forcefully because they needed more people and Vanesha was not sure whether she would meet with her brother again or not.
'Who are you?' Her twelve years old self couldn't remember Gael right away because a lot of things had happened and her life was a mess to say the least, as she had to live by herself since a young age.
Gael laughed cheerfully upon hearing that question and even now, Vanesha could still hear his boisterous laugh.
'I was the man who bought you and your brother dinner and a blanket.' And when Vanesha was still confused with the explanation, Gael added. 'Do you remember, Blue?'
Her name was so unique, therefore, she remembered her right away, even though she went with the name 'Zuri' now.
'Now, do you remember me?'
And with that, Gael took her under his wing and arranged everything for her to be able to infiltrate the organization.
She knew that she was being used by him, but it didn't make him treat her badly. It was almost like the relationship between them was solely based on benefit.
Despite being used, Vanesha didn't develop any grudge against Gael.
Truthfully speaking, she envied River, who had both father and mother that would do everything for her, because it reminded Vanesha of her own abusive father. It would have been great if her father had acted like a father to her and Nikolai.
"Gael can't do anything anymore," Vanesha informed Sol. She tried to picture Gael in such a way, emphasizing to him that he was no longer a threat for them because he couldn't use his power anymore. "The device is working greatly, I think he is half conscious now."
Vanesha glanced in Sol's direction, his expression was devoid of any emotions, thus, it was hard to tell what was in his mind right now.
"Great." That was his only comment.
Vanesha bit her lips nervously. She was well aware of the deep grudge between Sol and Gael because of Lise and there was no way he would let him off just like that, especially right now when he got the upper hand.
This long corridor felt so short when they finally arrived at where they had locked Gael up.
Sol used his access card to open the door, and behind it were two people, standing on guard, waiting for him.
"Mr. Nikolai is inside," one of them informed Sol.
"My brother?" Vanesha didn't know her brother would be here. "What is my brother doing here?"
However, before Sol could answer her question, he had opened the door to the interrogation room for her, asking her to walk in first.
Yet, Vanesha stood still. She stared at Sol, but didn't say a word.
"You can leave," Sol said to the two men, waving his hand for them to leave. "What do you want to say, Vanesha?" He knew this girl pretty well, there must be something that she wanted to say.
"You..." Vanesha felt the words stuck in her throat and she couldn't say them out loud. "You will not..."
"Hm?"
"You will not hurt him, right?" Vanesha looked at Sol's shoulder instead when she asked that. "He is powerless now. You said that you will try the device whether it works or not and now you know."
"Don't do this Vanesha, I will misunderstand you."
Vanesha knew that it was too risky to ask such a question, especially when Sol had not yet trusted her a hundred percent, since she betrayed him.
If it was not for Nikolai, who vouched for her, knowing he would receive a death sentence if Vanesha did something suspicious and betrayed them again, she wouldn't be here right now.
And with a little bit of miracle, she managed to reach her current position.
"You know I will not betray you." Vanesha was still unable to look Sol right in his eyes.
"I can't say that for sure, you betrayed me once, there will always be a lot of chances for you to do the same thing again." Sol tilted his head and then extended his hand to touch her cheek. "I hope you will not do that again."
"I will never do that again. It is not my life, but also my brother's life that is at stake here. You know well with whom my loyalty lies right now." Vanesha gathered her courage to look Sol right in his eyes.
"I need proof, Vanesha." Sol caressed her cheek for a moment before he turned around and walked into the room, where they held Gael, which left Vanesha with no other choice but to follow him.

Skylar cursed under her breath when Gael pushed her through the door and left her there alone. The door disappeared once she was inside, thus, she couldn't find a way to return to that room anymore.
Right now, she was in a bright corridor, where she could only see a door at the end of it.
"Ugh! I don't really like Norbeat, but why should I risk my life to save his? I don't believe this." Skylar gritted her teeth. The only reason she agreed to go on this mission was because Chaos himself asked her to do this. He knew she would immediately reject the request without even giving a thought about it otherwise.
Therefore, it was Chaos himself, who asked her to do this, which was very surprising to Skylar.
Seeing how important this mission was; she couldn't help, but accept it, only then did she learn Chaos wouldn't even be in this city, as he would leave with Zuri.
Damn it! She had been fooled.
"Seriously, Norbeat, if things go south, I will leave you here," Skylar said to herself before she pushed the door open, but it didn't budge, which made her tilt her head to look at the door. "What now?"
The door was so thick, it seemed to be made of some special metal and could only be opened with an access card, and it was very clear that she didn't have one.
"Darn it!" Skylar kicked the door, but soon she regretted it when the sharp pain made her stifle a scream. "That girl didn't say anything about a locked door!" Skylar remembered what Vanesha said, but she didn't mention that the door would be perfectly locked like this, while she didn't have a power like Knox or Gael. "What now?!"
======================
"You sent half of our warriors to East Draghar?!" Eros was furious when he learned that half of the warriors that he had trained were sent to somewhere else without his permission.
"I told you that I will take half of your warriors," Liam reminded Eros about this.
A week ago, Liam indeed asked Eros to give him the warriors, but he didn't go into details about what kind of mission that he would give them, and because this was not the first time, Eros didn't think much about it. It was only a few hours ago that he learned where Liam sent them.
"You didn't mention anything about East Draghar!" Eros was so mad. He had not yet agreed to Liam's decision to join hands with the organization, but now he sent the people that he had trained himself to them. This was an insult to him, especially when Liam knew his past and how he spent his early life as their guinea pig.
"I am the alpha, I don't need your permission to decide on something," Liam said sternly. He used his alpha's voice, but it had little to no effect on Eros. He grew stronger by the day and it was clear for him that he couldn't tame this young lycan any longer. They didn't even get along well.
It was a pity, because Liam had a grand plan in his head in which he wanted to include Eros, but it seemed there would be major changes to that plan.
"Those were the people I trained!" Eros easily ignored the alpha's voice. He had never put his loyalty in Liam and he was not weaker than the alpha since he was a lycan.
"You and everyone who breathes in this pack belong to me! You and all of them are my people!" Liam was furious, he shot Eros a dagger look, as he growled dangerously at him. It almost felt like he was so close to shifting into his beast.
However, before something worse could happen, they heard someone knocking on the door.
"Father, it's me."
Emma's childish voice travelled into the room, which made both of them control their emotions. The little girl stepped into the room with a mug in her hand.
"Father!" Morana rushed toward her father, but she carefully kept the balance of the mug that she was holding. "I learned something new from Ariana today and she taught me how to make this herbal tea. It tastes nice, I want you to try it!" She said cheerfully, as she handed the mug to her father's hand. "Try it!"
On the other hand, Eros stared at the mug. Herbal tea from Ariana...?
