"Father, try it, it is good," Emma said in a cheerful voice, as she handed the mug to Liam's hand. She smiled brightly at her father and looked at him expectantly. "Are you angry, father?" Emma tilted her head.
On the other hand, Liam took a deep breath, he didn't want his daughter to see him this angry and scare her.
"I am not angry," Liam said, as he waved his hand at Eros, telling him to leave this room. They would talk about this matter later. It was still upsetting for his beta to question his decision.
Eros glanced at the tea in Liam's hand and then walked out of the room without saying anything. However, Emma's golden eyes followed his movements closely and once the door was closed, she turned her attention back to her father and smiled sweetly at him.
"How is it? Is it good?" She blinked her eyes, waiting for her father's comment.
"Yes, this is good," Liam said softly. He leaned over his body and then kissed the top of her head. "You are so smart."
"I will make more for you!" Emma giggled to hear such praise, she looked so adorable.
"Sure." Liam ruffled her hair. "Thank you for the tea, but can you go to your brother? I have a lot of work to do." He watched his daughter nod and then stride across the room, as she left him alone.
Only then, Liam let out a long sigh, he massaged his temple that throbbed painfully. A lot of things happened recently and the decision to send a few warriors to the East Draghar was not completely his.
It was the devil that told him to do this. Liam was not sure what Aaron's plan was, but this matter had created discord within his pack and the members of the pack started to question him, as their alpha.
Most of them shared the same thought as Eros; they didn't agree to the idea of them joining hands with humans. It was a humiliation, especially when it was the same organization that had attacked them years ago and the fact Jasmine was the sister of the current head of the organization and also the luna of this pack, didn't make things better.
Jasmine had locked herself inside her bedroom after she gave birth to a daughter, which was said to be not the alpha's, but no one would talk about that so openly. The infidelity of the luna was almost like an open secret for the public.
On the other hand, once Emma walked out of her father's office, someone appeared all of a sudden beside her, but she didn't look surprised at all.
"Aaron!" She called him cheerfully. She raised both of her hands, asking to be picked up.
The devil smiled at her and carried her in his arms. There was no one around, but even if there were guards who saw this, they would ignore them, since the devil had put a spell around him, the same spell that Chaos always used whenever he was in public.
People would see them, but wouldn't remember them.
"Are you being a good girl?" Aaron asked, he took the empty glass from Emma's hand.
"I gave a glass of herbal tea to my father that Ariana taught me how to make," she said proudly, but then she frowned. "But, why don't you allow me to drink the tea, when it's okay for father to drink it?"
"Because Ariana put something into the tea, which is not good for you," Aaron replied calmly. The healer took this matter too far.
"But, it is good for Father?" Emma asked curiously.
"Yes, it is good for your father." In order to cover her involvement, Ariana used Emma, but she didn't mind putting her in harm's way.
Aaron didn't mind Ariana's method, but he wouldn't sit idly and watch his future bride being harmed.
After all, eventually he needed to get rid of Liam, because it was clear that the man would do something against him once the time came and Emma came of age. He wouldn't give her as he had promised him.
"But, you have to keep it a secret," Aaron said in a hush- hush tone, which made Emma giggle. n.-0vεlb1n
"I want to play with sister Flo!" Emma squealed. She liked to play with Flo because she was so fun and had a lot of ideas.
"Sure. Let's see her." Aaron agreed with her readily.
But one thing that the devil failed to notice was, there was a little boy, who stared at the two of them fearfully from behind the wall. He bit his nails nervously.
Aiden didn't like to see that man. That man was so scary and he often came to visit their bedroom and took Emma away for the rest of the night.
"What are you doing here, Aiden?" Emily asked, as she walked toward him. "I thought you were at the training ground."
Emily crouched down and looked at Aiden's pale face.
"I don't feel good," Aiden said in a timid voice. "I almost fainted after I ran three laps, that's why Colton sent me back."
Emily felt bad for him because, even though he was the alpha's only son, he didn't seem to fit the role of an Alpha. He was timid and didn't show qualities of good leadership, unlike Emma, who was so vocal and expressive.
Everyone knew how hard Liam trained him, at least, to make him a good warrior and less timid, but it didn't show any good progress and the alpha started to show disappointment in him.
"Why don't you come with me and I will make something for you, you must be hungry after training a whole day." Emily stood up and took his hand, as he nodded and followed her obediently.
==========================
Rhea opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings, but once she realized this was not her bedroom and her mommy was nowhere to be found, she started crying.
Especially when her eyes fixed on the man, who was sitting on the chair at the corner of this room. His blue eyes stared at her intensely and this scared the little girl.
"Stop crying," Knox said impassively, he had been sitting there for a long time, thinking why Rhea didn't wake up even after a day had passed. He was sure that he didn't use too much power on her when he put her to sleep, but then, he had never made a five years old girl fall unconscious before. "Don't cry."
However, despite what he said, Rhea cried even louder, her small shoulders trembled and she was hyperventilating, which made Knox furrow his brows, but he didn't know what to do with her.
If Gael was here, he would be able to know what to do with her, but then Knox didn't know how Gael was right now and he couldn't go to the facility, since he needed to stay here with his daughter.
Now that he had finally calmed down, he started to question himself about his decision to take her with him. He shouldn't have taken her away from July and he must return to check on Gael and Skylar, whether the two of them managed to escape with Norbeat or not.
"I want my mommy!" Rhea was crying harder now.
"Stop it, you give me a headache," Knox said. He then stood up and Rhea stopped crying, but she was on alert now, as she got off the bed.
"I want my mommy," Rhea repeated her words again, stifling a sob.
Right... Knox also wanted July. If he had to take Rhea, it was better if he took July as well. What actually was he thinking at that time? His actions had ruined the whole plan.
"Sit down, we need to talk." Knox frowned. He was not sure this was the way you talked to a five years old kid.
He remembered when Zuri came for the first time to the McKeltar manor, she was eight years old, but even so, she had never acted like a child around her age.
"No, I want my mommy!" Rhea screamed at him and then ran away from Knox when he sat down on the edge of the bed. She rushed toward the door.
Knox didn't stop her when she walked out of the room, because not long after that, Rhea opened the door again. The look of confusion was evident on her face, as she slammed the door shut again, but then a few moments later the same thing happened again. This repeated for a few times.
Knox had put a spell on the door, thus no matter what door she opened and wherever she would go, she would end up returning to this room again.
"Come here and sit down." Knox looked at Rhea, who was bawling her eyes out. She walked toward him doubtfully.
"Will you take me to my mommy?" Rhea asked, she stifled her cry, but she came closer toward Knox and sat down on the edge of the bed, the furthest part from where he was sitting. "Who are you?"
Who was Knox to her? He was her father, but he couldn't say that out loud, because the word 'father' sounded so strange in his ears.
And it would only complicate the situation if he confused this little girl right now.
But then, before Knox could say something, they heard a growling sound from Rhea's stomach.
