Chapter 1: Ch. 0 The fall of civilisation (Prologue)

The dead tell no tales. Well that's what we believed in until The Fall, and then The Arrival, happened, anyway. 

Everyone was going along their day, when suddenly, monsters started appearing out of nowhere. Well we say 'out of nowhere' but really, they started appeaeing out of cracks in the earth, that we call 'Jaws of Death'. Some edgy guy named them, I think. 

Either way, some of those cracks were giant, and the monsters coming out of them are now called the S Class monsters.

Monsters are ranked in letters, SS+ is the strongest recorded monster class, while the weakest recorded are H classes. 

We are even ranking humans and other human-like creatures. 

Why human-like? During The Arrival, some statues, depicting gods ando shit like thaf fell down from the sky, and when the last one fell down, they all lit up, and a lot of humans fell unconscious, presumably from nothing. 

Turns out that those gods are real, and their power, caused some of the more power sensitive people to become what they are, and people who didn't turn into another species, suddenly gained the ability to use magic. 

It was, presumably, the gods trying to keep us alive. 

But the wierdest thing that happened during The Fall, was the fact that some cities were completely untouched by the Jaws of Death, but still most people living there died, and those cities were destroyed. 

It was thirty years ago. The Arrival was tenty seven years ago. Even though some Jaws of Death still appear even now, there are still not that many.

Now that we are done with history, I think I can tell you some more about what is now. 

Let's start with North America. It was almost completely destroyed by three monsters that came out of Jaws of Death, which were ranked SS+. They still roam there, and are even reproducing. 

South America is still standing strong, since not that many high rank Jaws of Death appeared. 

Africa is destroyed in the north, since the Sahara Desert was overrun by monsters, and no one knows how to find their lair. 

Asia is in a similar situation since at least three Jaws of Death appeares in the tundra. 

Australia is currently the best place for you, because the people there are for some reason strongest in the world. 

Europe has most of these randomly destroyed cities, but otherwise is fairing pretty well. 

Islands like Japan and Madagascar were alright the first fifteen to seventeen years, but then In the middle of Tokyo, S+ Jaws of Death opened, and on Madagascar fire monsters started coming out of the only A Jaws of Death.
