POV: Shelly

<{[Present day]}>

"How much longer do we have to go?! I did not sign up for a three day long expedition!" said the annoying, short man, with black hair. He was wearing a suit of light armor, and had a shortsword on his hip.

"Will you calm down Evan? Shelly here said that it was going to be a longer expedition than normally, and you still signed up for it" said the much calmer, bald, almost two meter tall man, wearing robes.

"Yeah, Evan, Sebastian's right. The fact that this is an abandoned city from over thirty years ago, means we'll find some really good, and valuable shit." a giant woman with a claymore draped on her back, almost full plated armor, and short dark brown hair, cut off Evan, even before he could say anything.

"Martha! Guys! I found some more tracks! They lead to the right, somewhere around the place where the map said was the centre!" that was me, a short girl with red hair, a bow, and some leather armor.

I am a ranger, specialising in ranged combat. Martha's class is a gladiator, Evan's is warior, and Sebastian's is monk.

They are a team, that I sometimes party up with, just like this occasion. Although I normally just go solo, this place is too dangerous for me to go alone in.

"Thank god, I don't need to walk for another day! And it's your fault, Shelly, that we got lost, because of your next to useless tracking skills!" Evan said, as he started walking faster.

"H-Hey! My tracking skills are not useless!" I said, as I started to walk right behind him. "Infact, you are the most useless one here! You even chickened out of the big fight yesterday!"

"Anyone with a brain would that! It was like the whole city of monsters came to welcome us! And you three dumbasses still decided to fight them! You didn't even gat anuthing valuable!"

He was making sense. A lot of it. But luckily, Sebastian came to my rescue. "Calm down you two. You might attaract some monsters with all that noise. Either way, I was the one who suggested fighting them. I therefore should take the blame."

"Fine then. If you wanna, you can take it." Evan said, before returning his attention to the road before him.

A few minutes later, we saw the end of the road, and the tracks were much, much newer.

But as we were nearing the end of the road, a big, at least half a meter long cat jumped out of one of the big cracks in the walls, onto a rat.

As it picked the rat up, and started walking away, I noticed that the cat was the one I was tracking.

"At least we know what made the tracks. Still, I would like to know what is in the center of this city." said Sebastian.

"Right, we're nearly there, so let's go." Martha agreed with him. Actually, I think all of us agreed with him, but she was the only one who said it.

And so we walked for the next minute or so, until we were at the end. There we saw a giant tree growing out of what looked like a church, but now it was just rubble and ruins.

In the middle of the rocks and rubble, was the tree growing, as if from multiple sprouts. In the middle of them, however, was a suit of armor, made from a material, I could not recognize, at least not from where we were.

"Oh sweet! Finally something useful!" exclaimed Evan. "We could get a blacksmith to resize it, or sell it to someone willing to pay huge amounts of money!"

"It seems suitable for you, Evan, but also for Martha. We should decide who to give it to." Sebastian said wisely.

"Nah, it's smaller than me, I won't be able to use it. You can use it, if you give me the sword it has, and the material leftovers. I'll use them to make the sword bigger." Martha suggested, while walking to the armor.

Then, she and Evan tried to take apart the armor, first taking off parts like the helmet, or gauntlets, and... nothing happened. Who would have thought.

But actually nothing completely happened. The pieces they were trying to take off, did not even budge.

"It's stuck, probably because of rust. We'll have to take it as it is to a blacksmith, so that we can wear it." Evan said in a serious tone, which is a bit rare for him.

So Martha picked it up, and we decided to go back as fast as we can, to not endanger ourselves anymore.
