Ch 17 - Cybernetic Spy

My brows furrowed as I narrowed my eyes. I even decided to use my skill to make sure that my eyes didn't deceive me since this cyborg looked like other robots. If it wasn’t because it had stared at us for a while, I might not have noticed it. But I hoped I was wrong.

'Analyze!'

[ Name: C-145]

[ Race: Cybernetic]

[ Class: Soldier Droid]

[ Level: 27]

[ HP/ Durability: 1990/1990]

[ MP: None]

Unfortunately, my guess was right.

"Are you okay, Axl?" Shea asked me due to my sudden silence.

"Can the cyborgs enter this territory?" I asked without shifting my gaze. If this happened before I entered Trexta I would attack it without hesitation. But after I saw Trexta's diversity and how robots, aliens, and Terra's native race lived side by side, I doubted myself whether I should attack it or not.

"If you are talking about Cybernetic, yeah. The city gives their permission to enter this place as long there are only a few of them. The city is also limited their number," Shea explained.

"So is that okay?" I pointed my index finger to where the cyborg stood.

Shea turned around and looked at where I pointed.

"What do you mean?" But then, she gasped once she caught what I meant.

"No, it's not okay. It's spying on us. We should destroy him," Shea took out her drones from her inventory and prepared to attack them. But I stopped her.

She glared at me.

"What are you doing? We have to stop it and get out of here. The Cybernetic already know where we are." Her irritation was clear from the tone of her voice.

"Let me handle it. I have an idea," I said confidently. Then without further ado, I opened my wings and flew at it.

Once I landed on top of the building, a pair of batons came out from the cyborg's hands and prepared to attack me. Even though it didn't look too intimidating compared to Photon Phaser, the electricity covering them said otherwise. It could paralyze everything.

'Good thing the border guards don't let armed creatures without licenses into the city.' I bet it was the main reason why the cyborg only has those electrical batons. They couldn't carry any real weapons.

The cyborgs stormed at me and swung the electrical batons at me. Since I didn't want to fight it empty handed I decided to make my own weapons.

'Create Weapon, Plasma Gauntlet!' Ever since I fixed Ryder and Shea's drones, I understood a bit about this era's weapons and how they worked. So I decided to create a new type of weapon that was suitable for this battle.

A pair of black gauntlets covered my hands to my elbows. They were made of my magic power and covered with plasma energy that could emit electric shocks. When the gauntlet was activated, green electricity surrounded them.

The electromagnetic field generated by the plasma gauntlet allowed me to inflict more damage and paralyze my opponent because it absorbed all the electricity around me. This helped me avoid damage from the electric shocks from my opponent's weapons while I fought. In other words, it was like a shield for me.

I chose this weapon since I didn't want to make any trouble on my first day in this city.

'Accelerate!'

- Clang!

The sound of clashing between its baton and my gauntlets echoed. With each strike, sparks appeared where our weapons hit. While the electricity traveled through my body, my gauntlets flashed and glowed with a powerful light.

Still, the batons were more powerful than I thought. It was like fighting a giant lightning bolt, even though my gauntlets absorbed its electricity.

The electricity coursing through my body made my muscles tense up. Every time I dodged, my body felt a surge of adrenaline. The voltage was so high, it even created sparks and zapping sounds around us.

As I was ducking and dodging, the cyborg aimed for my head. I blocked its attacks with my gauntlet and countered it by throwing a punch at its chin.

It was strong. No matter how many times I punched its face, it still didn't fall. It was like hitting a steel beam. I couldn't hurt it.

I was starting to get annoyed by its continuous defense, so I tried to change my tactic. I used the plasma gauntlet to deliver more powerful blows at the cyborg's chest. As soon as I did it, it fell backward.

With the momentum from falling, it tried to swing its baton at me again. But I managed to duck it by dodging to the side.

While I was dodging, I used the plasma gauntlet to punch its midsection. Sparks flew everywhere from its impact and a loud crack filled the air.

"Gah!" The cyborg let out a broken grunt as it fell on its stomach. It rolled back and forth until it finally stopped.

I approached it and intended to check on it before I executed my next plan.

However, the cyborg got up.

I watched in shock as it jumped up and charged at me.

Luckily, I managed to dodge the blow by rolling backward and kicking the cyborg's knee. It wasn't its weak spot, but it was enough to knock it back on its ass.

When it was down, I stood up and raised the plasma gauntlet above my head.

"Time to end this," I muttered.

I activated my gauntlet and unleashed electricity at the cyborg.

It was like a lightning storm and thunderclap combined. The electricity surged around me as I threw my strength into that one strike.

[ Critical Hit!]

The cyborg rolled on the ground and let out buzzing sounds from its body. A sign that its internal parts were fried. It had no more function left.

"Right. Now phase two." I grabbed the back of its head and used my talent.
